The products used for preparing the meals were good and obviously there's an effort to get locally sourced fruits and veggies There are so many activities available for kids and adults as well and the staff doing the activities for kids are very friendly The vineyard and orchard and olive trees areas are clean and well maintained

Breakfast was late, starting at 8.30 and no other option of getting anything for kids before that time Staff at the Ancoradouro house was very unwelcoming and the noise they were making while constantly moving tables and chairs around was too much The road to access the Herdade is very bad The staff moves around in big jeeps even for little deliveries from one point to another so they are polluting allot and dusting

Nothing really to complain; if one would have to say at least one thing that could have been better than I would state that there could have been power outlets next to the bed to charge the phone

Some of the staff were rude, and didn't inform us how long things really took, room service took up to 3 hrs to be delivered and two hrs to be cleared. The room service menu is extremely limited, basically no dinner is available on the menu, only snacks are available after 4pm. Considering how isolated the area was, we were beyond shocked how limited the room service was. Most items on menu are not vegetarian or vegan friendly. We had to get a taxi and go to the closest supermarket to get essentials to survive our stay.

The nature surrounding the hotels are very beatiful. Our hotel room was delicately furnished, the bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The country house, where we stayed, was in general nice and had a relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant was really good, especially the desserts.

Our room had very little sound proofing. Being by the road and near the kitchen, we heard a lot of traffic noise, and noise from the kitchen in the morning. We also heard everything from the other guests in the hall, in the neighbor rooms and outside. As the facilities at the resort are very spread out, there's a lot of road traffic. The hotel has a transport arrangement to get guests to and from their rooms/suites/villas to other facilities such as the restaurant. But we felt that we vere always forgotten hm when having booked the transport, waiting for 15-20 minutes by the road on the heat until we called and asked. The country house is a bit run down, and our bathroom had black mold between the tiles. The service was very different from person so person. We had very little information when we arrived, so we had to ask about everything all the time.

Exceptional premise - huge estate with different housing and apartments scattered across the whole plot. I have never seen a more breathtaking estate than this. Words can’t describe the scenery and Ambiente it offers. Most friendly staff, exquisite breakfast and service. Everything was perfect, I will definitely come back.

Beautiful property, staff were extremely nice and attentive, breakfast was excellent, room was comfortable and clean, activities were fun and well organized.

We really have nothing bad to say about this property other than it was extremely expensive for what it was.

It was a truly beautiful place which felt calm and very welcoming. The food was fabulous as was the wine. The breakfast staff at The Country house were most probably the weakest amongst a very strong and friendly team. The two treatments I had in the spa were wonderful.

Our bed side lights were poor, we did speak to the house manager, also the bath surround could do with an upgrade….but I’m being picky!

Everything! The staff are superb, the horse riding and lessons exceptional. The food was fabulous, breakfast the best I’ve had in a very long time. The mixture of the working vinyard and the hotel is a dream, lending an authenticity to the holiday experience.

There was nothing I didn’t like / the entire experience is so well thought out. I really recommend the buggy experience it was so much fun!

Staff, facilities and food

Best and serene scenery! Really enjoyed staying in the house of Ancoradouro. Very calm and romantic. Horse back riding between the vineyards is magic. Gluten free breakfast availabe. Well worth it.
