Parking, location

Very small room - we had a twin room. Not like the photos of the king rooms on website. Black out curtains but no blind and felt overlooked by building opposite. Route to room at check in was obstacle course getting around cleaning boxes and linen packs. Same situation when we went to breakfast at 9am. Disappointing as my friend is blind so not ideal. No chocolates in room as we thought, extremely rusty loo brush and no hooks on door in bathroom. On a positive, bed very comfortable with nice pillows and a fabulous shower

Very friendly staff ,Made you warm welcoming. The food & drinks were great.Beds comfortable and the showers were amazing.

Lots of stairs to carry luggage and no lift as very old building 1571.so understandable. Could do with a little updating.

The location was perfect, lovely looking hotel with great decor, nice and cosy. Good facilities in hotel room.

The room itself was smaller than expected, it was clean apart from some areas that could have been dusted a bit better and we also found someone’s bra in the wardrobe? Which was strange so it should have been double checked. We weren’t disturbed by the noise from the pub/bar downstairs which we were worried about, however the noise from other people in rooms near us in early hours of the morning running up and down the corridors was not great at all there was no respect. I am aware that this might not be the fault of the hotel itself and it’s staff. Staff were fairly friendly but seemed a little distracted upon greeting us. When we were checking out it was very quick and we were not asked about our stay. Information for the continental breakfast was not very clear and I think for the price we payed a cooked breakfast should have been provided anyway especially as this was a birthday booking I think it would have been nice.

Everything was best, i spent my best birthday ever. I really enjoyed. My partner arranged some decor in the room for my birthday. The vibe, staff and everything was amazing. I wish i could stay abit longer

The Salisbury Arms is a great hotel and the location is perfect. Our room was beautiful and the bathroom was absolutely stunning. The car park was also a bonus. We would not hesitate to stay again. I must point out, however, that the breakfast was disappointing. I had to ask for orange juice and butter as they had not been replaced. There was also a lack of variety of choice available ie cheese or cold meats or fresh fruit salad - items which are usually present for a continental breakfast. That said, as noted above, we would definitely stay again.

Hotel is situated in middle of town and we did get a bit lost around the one way system - however, once we located the hotel and went in and asked for directions to the car park everything was explained about the one way roads! We had an evening meal which was very good and we were given an upgrade to the room we originally booked. A continental breakfast was included which was good, and there were options to have a fully cooked breakfast if required. All the members of staff we encountered were very pleasant and willing to help. We liked the Butler's Pantry where you could get extra tea/coffee/milk etc for the room.

We were happy with our stay.
