No breakfast no staff

No keys left in door all done by text , fire door left open on landing . No reply on arrival as key was not left in door to enter room so could not leave to get evening meal . No response from text to let me know where my key may be ? The pub was closed for bank holiday.

Shower not running properly, head needs de-scaling and floods on to floor, Need to be able to control heat

Came down for a course. Was a great location, lovely pub downstairs and staff were really helpful and left us to it but there if we needed anything. Late check in which was perfect for us! Room was great, had everything we needed for the 2nights. Would recommend. Only thing is the noise over weekend from pub but that was expected and does state on booking but we loved music playing anyway!!

very central location, adequate facilities, quirky

Told on arrival our room wasn’t available, then upon checking it was…not a great start. Room was nice, had basic equipment but no kettle, although tea and coffee equipment was provided! Was very tricky to get shower at a suitable temperature. It was really noisy outside until at least 3am….we were still up and enjoying the entertainment but if you want a good nights sleep it’s not for you! Then when we checked our there was no one around so we posted the keys through the letterbox of the pub.

Clean and comfortable. Easy check in and good tea/coffee etc facilities in the room.

Left my pyjamas in the bathroom. Emailed the Dog & Whistle 3 times to say I have family in the area who could collect them. Never heard back which was very disappointing. I stay in Hertford from time to do but will probably use alternative accommodation from now on.

Stairs are a bit tricky

everything about the property was fantastic, the rooms were so lovely and well presented, Georgia who welcomed us at the beginning was lovely and polite and really set the tone for an incredible stay!

Dangerous. Caused 3 injuries. Rude and disinterested staff. 3 steps up and the stairs to top rooms have the lowest ceiling that I’ve ever seen . 2 small warnings are very inadequate. I’m 5ft 3 , (very healthy )and I was looking at my footing on steps due to my bag. I bashed my head hard on low ceiling as staff showed me to toon. I had a bad headache for 2 hours. The staff member smirked and stated there and then that they told people all the time but that “ they didn’t listen “. I was furious and in pain. My partner did the same the next day plus he hit his head on the room door frame at night. I’ve reported the issue externally.

Cool pub, central location, cool staff

So noisy…and I didn’t even visit on a weekend when the pub is noisy…it was all from the high street and from other guests opening and closing doors which for some reason was ridiculously loud. Earplugs were provided and very necessary. The room was very small and wasn’t the cleanest. There were really unusual decor decisions that were more cheap than quirky like the block of wood stuck to the ceiling to mount the lights. The blinds fell apart, the bath panel had chunks missing and the toilet leaked. It needs some attention. Parking options weren’t clear at all. All that said, if I went on a night out in Hertford and got so drunk I could sleep through a jet landing next to me, it would be great! But when I have to work the next day…not so much.
