Perfect location near the South Gate of Addo Elephant Park. Rooms are clean and breakfast is very rich. The owner makes sure you have a good stay.

Recommendation for dinner: the local pub food is not the best, instead go to Sundaze near the fuel station. Better atmosphere there.

I booked the family suite for my sister's 50th birthday and organised everything as a surprise. The staff at Dungbeetle were so helpful, friendly and kind in helping make sure the 2 days were perfect. I booked her onto a river exploration which she said was utterly beautiful and very fascinating. Thank you to everyone there for helping out and making it a trip to remember.

The river, the birds, the dunes, the breakfast, the Addo tour: all wonderful! Be sure to book a room with a river view, it is absolutely stunning.

The logistics (room allocation, Addo tour postponed) were a bit of a muddle, sometimes. But the staff did their very best to set things right.

Breakfast was great, especially enjoyed the kudu sausage and poached eggs, as well as the fresh bread and orange juice made on site.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful in every way. The room was spacious, the beds were nice too. The breakfast was rich and the bread was homemade, so was the jam. What we liked most was the deck overlooking the river and the view to the dunes, very lovely!

The owners and staff at Dungbeetle went out of their way to ensure we had a memorable stay. One of the owners actually drove us to see the nearby river and beach on a rainy day when we didn’t have plans. Breakfasts were amazing, so delicious. Thanks Leona. The location to Addo couldn’t be better. We booked two guided tours with Mike who was friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot and had fun seeing so many elephants, zebra, etc. We highly recommend the lovely, well-decorated and qcosy guesthouse and would certainly stay there if we return to the area.

This guest house is a little gem. The gardens surrounding the house are beautiful and the view of the river is amazing. We stayed in a two bedroom annex which had its own entrance. The staff were always around to help out with anything you wanted. The owners of the property are delightful and it was lovely to sit and chat with them at breakfast about where to go and what to see. They have extensive knowledge of the area and Addo Elephant Park The entrance to Addo is a few minutes drive away - its a perfect place to stay without paying inflated prices for being within the park itself. All in all - a fantastic guest house which l would highly recommend.

Good location on the river. Close to Game Parks. They arranged two safaris for us at Addo and Schotia which included the Big 5 and far more species than we expected and some in great numbers. Breakfasts are very good. Etta the owner (also the Addo tour ranger) and staff were very friendly and helpful.
