Really beautiful unique place to stay in comfort. A touch of luxury in an amazing building.

Amazing features & set up

The hotel is well situated very close to the castle and cathedral The bonus is private secure parking. The staff that we met were very welcoming. The room was very nice with a good en suite.

My main issue is with breakfast. One croissant and a yoghurt is not really sufficient. As there is no kitchen perhaps this accommodation should be room only!! Eating the croissant in the room is also interesting as there is nowhere for two people to sit while eating. The second night of our 2 night stay the room was very warm. We had kept the small window open during the day and reopened it during the night but it was still to warm. Might be difficult to sleep in the height of summer. Be aware that whilst it is perfect for visiting the cathedral and castle the main town is down a very steep hill. Finally, not the hotels problem but we were shocked at how much it cost to get into both the cathedral and castle.

Cannot fault anything, great warm meeting from our hosts. Am speechless it was such a lovely experience, and location, location, location perfect. Fantastic , will be back soon xxx

A picturesque and appealing property, extremely clean and comfortable.

The parking situation is poor, Very difficult to access due to their narrow hilly roads but worse was the fact that we weren’t allowed access till midday and we have to go midday so we ended up paying for parking elsewhere overnight and it meant we had to drag our bags up the very steep hill twice! I wouldn’t stay there again purely for this reason. Property seems to have lots of parking space so I don’t understand why they are so tight when you can access or how long you can stay.

Location and service were very good. Initial room was unexpectedly small. Management changed that for second night which was very satisfactory. Parking was satisfactory and complimentary breakfast was satisfactory.

Location is wonderful, parking is free, accomodation is stylish, reception was friendly, breakfast was good and free. What's not to like?

We liked the quirkiness of it and it was clean and well placed to visit all the local attractions. We enjoyed the continental breakfast as well.

The room was very hot (32), if you opened the roof light, then it was very light early in the morning, therefore would have liked a blind or curtains on the inside, to shut the light out. There was a fan, but very noisy. Didn’t like the Down/feather pillows & would have liked some shower gel. Also in the car park, the sticky mess that comes off the trees is awful, made a right mess of our car.

The hotel is between the castle and the cathedral. There are plenty of shops, cafes and bars etc down Steep St, but be aware of the very steep walk back up the hill. The staff were absolutely amazing and made me feel very welcome.

so characterful, cosy, clean, amazing location. so welcoming, left you to it once checked in. bed was so so comfortable, bed linen was incredibly soft. everything had been considered, everything of quality including the type of instant coffee, fresh milk, orange juice, water in the fridge. I mentioned it was my husbands birthday and when we got back from our walk about before dinner, there was a birthday card for him in the desk. a very thoughtful touch. thank you for the most wonderful stay. we’ll be back. in fact I wouldn’t book anywhere else ever! we had stayed in The Rest once (ironically called) up the road and it was anything but. this place was so quiet (can’t blame the hotel for noisy people upstairs stomping around a bit) but the walls are thick. just light sleepers, just need a pair of ear plugs. loved this place!

It’s a lovely looking building in a fantastic location a short walk from the cathedral and the castle and the cultural quarter. Plus it was only a 10-15 min walk from the train station. The room was beautiful and well equipped with everything we needed. Everything was very clean and tidy. We only saw 2 members of staff and both ladies were nice and friendly

These are very minor complaints just nit picking really, The property is at the top of Steep Hill(it isn’t called that for nothing!) we managed it ok but I can imagine it could be tough for older people or anyone with restricted mobility. It would have been nice to open a window to get some air into the room there’s only one small window l, an electric fan was provided though which was needed when it hit a bit warm. I’ve only mentioned it because it was asked, there was no real view out of the window as it was obscured by a tee but just leave the room and the cathedral is right in your doorstep to look at anyway!

Bit confusing to get to, but called the staff and she directed us the way which was great! Croissants were lovely and still warm!

Shampoo, conditioner and hand soap but no body wash

Loved the features like the big Windows! Very handy for the historical end of Lincoln 2 mins walk from castle and cathedral and some nice cafes and local shops and pubs

Larger dressing gowns needed! Also not a great spot if you have any mobility needs and the hill down to central Lincoln is very steep!

location is right next to the cathedral in the old town. It’s quirky, relaxed and really friendly. The room had really high beamed ceiling. Continental breakfast is included and brought to your room. Room had everything you need including a fridge with fresh milk, orange juice and water. Car parking is secure behind locked gates. We liked the personal touches. Very different to the bland corporate hotels.

We went for the cheapest room and so only had a tiny window that looked at a roof. Think we’ll upgrade to a posher room next time.

Excellent location . Slightly thrown by the minimal breakfast delivered to the room but pleasantly surprised that the croissants had been warmed and fruit juice in the fridge provided a good breakfast. Excellent security for parking. Would certainly recommend the place.

Light breakfast of croissants & yoghurt hung on door handle with milk, orange juice and filtered water in a fridge in the room included (or choice of going to a local cafe which you paid for) was a great idea. Beds comfortable and shower large and powerful.

Nothing comes to mind! Hadn't realised that the staff weren't on site but were there to greet you. Not a problem to us as comfortable with the fobs and codes but would be confusing for people like my mum! Its such a nice property that you forget it is a guesthouse and not a hotel!

Perfect for a woman travelling on her own. The Lodge is beautifully decorated, everything is in good order and kept to a high standard. The staff are super helpful. Well done!
