very nice staff perfect location close to the gondola

Schanze Nozawa is fantastic. You are steps away from the Nagasaka gondola and the staff are awesome! The rooms are comfortable, spotlessly clean, with a communal dry room and free laundry. Breakfast was excellent and you are close to 13 Onsen and a 10min walk to the town centre. We look forward to returning to Schanze!

Staffs - The staffs managing the hotel made me feel at home with their friendliness and attention to details. They are also very knowledgeable about the places of interest around Nozawa Onsen. I've been in Japan for close to 3 weeks and this is the first place where I felt like coming back to home after a day of snowboarding. Breakfast made by them were sumptuous as well! I love chilling at the common area due to its cleanliness and tea/coffee is available anytime. Not a speck of dirt during my stay there( some kids dropped their cookies while eating but it was quickly cleaned up by the staffs). Location - Right next to 1 of the gondola. If your main objective is to snowboard or ski, this is the place for you. Although the main street is a bit of walk down the slope, well...you can't have the best of both world I guess which is fine by me. Facilities - As mentioned, the common area is one of the best aspect of this place. The shared toilet is cleaned and well equipped as well with heater installed(if you are that cold..)

Heater in my room is a little noisy(loud click whenever it starts to heat up again) but based on my experience in other places, this is a usual occurrence.. I hope there is still room in this place for the next ski season after my review...LOL

location was excellent, we hired our gear from Thanx right opposite the gondola station so we could walk very easily to and from Schanze to the gondola and quad for skiing. it’s a five minute walk down to main part of Nozawa for restaurants and buns. slightly longer going back up as it’s quite steep! great room, lovely staff and well priced considering we had breakfast provisions included.

Cozy and small place, but everything you need is right there. Free laundry machine. Delicious breakfast. Super kind and Friendly staff.

Something wrong with hair dryer. Blowing is too soft.

The structure is located barely two minutes' walk from the gondola for the ski pists. The environment is cozy and the rooms are very nice. I particularly appreciated the very helpful, kind and fun to chat with staff. Definitely recommended!

Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Spotless throughout. Rooms were setup with every thing needed. Always felt welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. There was a hot meal cooked each morning along with cereal, bread, jams and coffee/tea etc. The meals we had cooked were absolutely delicious!
