Our family travelled a long distance to visit what looked to be a beautiful hotel based upon the photos online. Unfortunately, most of the advertised pictures are part of a separate part of the hotel reserved for group bookings, and all photos are taken with an advantageous angle hiding the parking lot/road immediately in front of the rooms and restaurant. If booking a suite, take note that it’s in a separate building that you have to walk to and which feels like a motel— abandoned bike and stroller in the entryway, seedy staircase, public restroom.. it was not at all worth the $500 we spent. Several of these rooms do not have windows that can be opened or central air. The 5-course dinner is $100/person. We were given printer paper menus in Norwegian, no English, and no one was able to translate. We left and went to the burger place across the street which was actually pretty good. They offer a standard Norwegian breakfast which was great, but you get it at nearly every hotel. I would not recommend making the trip out here if this hotel is the main attraction.

Food is so good.

Everything is good. Especially the location. The sea view is just outside our window. The restaurant of the hotel is supreme! The rooms are in a beautiful old building. There are several lounge with old stuffs decorated, very elegant and interesting. We love this hotel and definitely will come back in the future.

No lift to the upper floors. Take all big luggages to the room was a little bit challenging. The curtains are too thinly.

Staff were wonderful, upgraded us after first room was missing a blind. Rooms were clean and well set up (full fridge and microwave). We took a hike and rented bikes to cycle around the island. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the chef catered for my vegetarian needs. The hotel bar is also a great place to spend an evening. Breakfast was delicious. Location is right next to the ferry from Bergen which was super easy to get given we didn't have a car. Would definitely return again!

Exceptional experience in this off-the-grid location! Bekkjarvik offers first class accomodation in a historic building, in addition to a superb dining experience!

The entire place is according to the harbor theme. Rustic but absolutely lovely and comfortable. We spent our wedding weekend here and we are absolutely coming back for another visit here. Also, eat at their restaurant. The food and breakfast is an amazing experience!
