Everything! John and Lisa are amazing hosts, so friendly and they made us feel really welcome. we loved our room it was perfect and the food was so good especially the roast dinner . The hotel is in a beautiful place with so much on the doorstep to explore .We would go back in a heart beat.

Booked with short notice and we’re allocated annex “Dovecote” room which was well presented but very noisy. Wall facing car park entrance was just a partition wall covering side windows and allowed noise from traffic, throughout the night and conversations from pedestrians outside. Bathroom needed a little attention.

The hosts were fantastic right from checking in so friendly throughout the stay..would definitely return

There was nothing not to like..If people dislike something about Dunster there is something wrong with them.

Beautiful hotel, situated right on Dunster high street a two minute walk from the castle. Our room was lovely, beautifully decorated with the biggest bed I’ve ever slept in! The owners were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. We don’t really eat cooked breakfasts so cannot comment on this but the coffee was delicious and so was the toast. Highly recommend this hotel.

The propriotors Lisa and John were so accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly.... nothing seemed too much trouble. The hotel itself is perfectly located, just below the Castle, in the main street. The hotel is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and our room was very comfortable with great views from the windows. Our breakfast was superb and plentiful. We will definitely stay longer on our next visit.

This was by far one of the best hotels booked through Booking.com.....ever ! John & Lisa are exceptional hosts, friendly, professional, with an eye for detail. Our room was superb, then there was the breakfast - we chose the night before and within minutes of sitting down our food arrived. The eggs royale and full English breakfast was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The castle is a few minutes walk away and was able to leave car at the hotel while visiting. Thank you guys we will be back for sure :)

The owners, Lisa and John, were lovely. Right from the smooth check-in where Lisa was warm and so efficient, to the food where John and the other chef were amazing, to the efficient housekeeping delivered with a smile, it felt like staying at home with the amenities of a good hotel. It's a family run business and that shows in the extra mile that each of the staff went to, to ensure that we had a lovely time. We stayed in the Butter Cross room and it was well appointed and surprisingly quiet despite facing the High Street. Overall, this was the perfect place to stay at, run by a team that knows how to be good hosts. Dunster is a pretty special place and this hotel made our stay even more special.

Nothing, really. It would have been great if the water pressure in the shower was better but we didn't bring it up with the management (because it wasn't such a big deal) so they didn't have a chance to rectify it before our stay ended.

Lack of hooks and space in the bedroom , the hotel closed and locked until 3pm check in .Not sure why had to choose all elements of breakfast the evening before even down to the sauces , jams and cereals ..but it was exceptional

It was beautifully decorated and clean. The breakfast was brilliant and the hosts were lovely.

The only thing that would have been better for me personally was an alternative to the feather duvets, topper and pillows. I am allergic.

The hotel was fairly described and the services on offer were as we had hoped. Clean, pleasant and friendly. There was nothing we didn't like. If we had a very large car then the access to the private car park may have been a little bit tricky, but slow and careful is the way. The proprietor was very helpful.

Super clean. Very welcoming hosts who couldn't have done anymore to make our stay brilliant. Excellent tiny details. Food was fabulous and the bed super comfy. You will be very pleased if you book here for a trip.

If I'm being super super picky I'd have been made up if there was decaf tea in the room like there was decaf coffee. But that is me being very picky as we had such a lovely stay!
