You are in the very centre of the hilltop town with a character. The place is very clean and the staff is very friendly and resourceful. The town is fantastic. Frescoes all around: Benozzo Gozzoli and Perugino to name a few. A balustrade 50 meters from your door with a 180 degree view to die for. Assisi seen right from your window... And Spello. And Trevi. And Foligno... Hey, and if you are after fine dining, Montefalco is definitely the place to visit. We come from a pretty foody city, but three out of three restaurants we visited were amazing.

The furniture in the room is a bit old, but it adds to the character. The breakfast is... well, it can be improved. But overall, we spent fantastic three days in Montefalco, and the hotel was one reason for our pleasure.

A good option in Montefalco.

The breakfast was adequate and the Manager Roberto was friendly. He only spoke a little English, which is to be expected in a small Italian town. We liked this, as it gave us a chance to try out our Italian. The views of the from the room and balcony are outstanding! The bathroom and shower in room 3 are wonderfully spacious. We thought that that La Rocca offered a very good value for the money. Roberto was happy to make us reservations at the excellent restaurants. In mid April, the town of Montefalco seemed really quiet, especially at night.

The photos made the room look a little more upscale than it really turned out to be, and the shower smelled a bit. Compared to most other beds upon which we have slept on in Italy, the bed was hard and therefore somewhat uncomfortable to us. Unfortunately, we learned that the only control for the radiator heater is in the adjoining room. This was an issue when the heater came on in the evening and we had no way to shut it off. The solution offered was to run the air conditioner. After seeing the beautiful photos of the spa while booking, it was a slightly disappointing that the spa was pretty much closed down. Fortunately the spa was not a big part of our plans, as there is a lot to explore in this part of Umbria.
