Location - quiet place. Kind lady who gave us basket of bananas as welcome gift.

The place was incredibly hard to find, i would recommend to use some sign with the náměstí of the appartment.

Thank you to Luis and Oskar for the warm welcome and prompt responses. I booked last minute and my little studio apartment was basic but absolutely perfect for my needs. Everything was super clean and the view, as I drank many a good glass of wine from the comfort of my bed, unparalleled. The beautiful sea and banana trees. What more could anyone want? On arrival, a bunch of sweet and perfectly ripe bananas was much appreciated. Bus stops in either direction are less than 1 minute walk away. The Number 1 bus will take you to Madeira's main town, Funchal (about 20 mins away, be prepared for a slightly chaotic bus schedule, no one seems to know when they come and go but they're more or less every 30 mins). It will also get you to the Forum Madeira shopping centre (about 10/15 mins on the bus), which was great was for stocking up on groceries with a humongous Pingo Doce supermarket. A three minute walk from the apartment is the delightful restaurant, Aconchega, open from 6pm - serving wonderful seafood and steak. For me on my own, in no rush, it was perfect, and I was ok to wait around for buses. But for those who may prefer to zip around, car hire might be the better way to go then you are not at the mercy of the buses. I didn't need to make use of the larger outside, communal kitchen as the apartment was private and self contained, but it looked like a clean and fun place to gather. As a woman travelling on my own, I felt safe and the owners were very welcoming and kind. Thank you!

Yep - as other reviews have mentioned, there is noooo wifi in the studio apartment I stayed in. So make sure you download those series for offline viewing in advance people ;) Cellular connection was a-ok though. The hot water tank I believe is shared sometimes, you may find the hot water runs out a bit but most of my showers were fine. You are opting for the neighbourhood vibe here, not touristy resort, so there will be some enthusiastic neighbourhood dogs barking on and off. But to be honest, the views were so stunning, the rate so reasonable, apartment super clean and the vibe so restful, you can live with it!

Very good apartment. Lovely bathroom. Terrace overlooking the ocean and palm garden. Shared kitchen in the courtyard. The apartment is in the suburbs of Funchal, but there is a bus stop right next to it. The hosts are very nice people.

Very welcoming and friendly hosts. It is very convenient to use public transport. Nice, clean and private studio apartment. There is everything you could need. Highly recommend!

One disadvatage - poor WiFi connection.

The hosting was amazing, the place is very comfy and we really enjoyed our stay... Nothing bad to say it's a win-win ! Recommended :)

Oscar was kind and helpful. The bananas he grows himself are delicious ! We were visiting Madeira for the first time as a couple and stayed for a week. During the day we mostly went outside for visiting the city and hikes. You have a couple of restaurants at walking distance and you have the big city of Funchal at 15 min with car. So the location was perfect and peaceful to stay.

The room had traditional Portuguese furnishings and was spacious. It has a big bathroom with two sinks so no waiting time :-D! It had a space on the terrace with a table and chairs and offered beautiful views on the sea from there. The room had a huge wardrobe to put all your stuff in and a strong shower. We also liked the common OUTDOOR kitchen area. It was so nice to sit down in the morning and have breakfast there! You can also buy your own food and put it in the fridge in the kitchen, to save you some money if needed. The hospitality of the owners was brilliant, such a lovely couple. Very nice house, we had a wonderful stay.

Extremely friendly and helpful hosts- Fatima and Luis who were also very caring and made me feel at home. Every day I enjoyed freshly picked Madeiran bananas and lemons from the trees in their garden. My room had a lovely terrace with an amazing Ocean view and the admirable sunrises. A relatively short walk down to the Promenade took me alongside the tranquil Ocean either to Camara dos Lobos, Formosa Beach or Funchal Lido. There is a spacious - open space kitchen/dining/relaxing area with an access to all the necessary appliances including washing machine, ironing board, iron etc. You also get a furry visit -if you a cat lover! For a good coffee and Poncha (a traditional Madeiran rum drink) visit a lovely local Tavern-just ask Luis! There is also a bus stop and No1 can take you from/to Funchal Centre which is very convenient in the evenings.

My stay was too short! 7 days was not enough for me.

The apartment was perfect with the most amazing views. So close to the beach. The best part was the owner Joana. She was so welcoming and kind she really made our stay unforgettable

Had nice ocean view from balcony. Romm- small but cousy, we had our our kitchen. Washing machine and bbq in close location. Apartment is not very close to town, but there was busses often and we had car too.

Amazing views! I loved to drink my morning coffee looking over the Atlantic Ocean & banana plantations. Quiet & peaceful location with quick & easy access to Funchal center by bus. Formosa beach and Camara de Lobos within walking distance.

The apartment was a lot smaller than I had understood from the description. The Wi-Fi in the public areas had a poor connection or didn’t work at all.
