Do not book this hostel. Every taxi driver told us that the area was not safe. When we came back one night the glass door of the hotel was completely broken, red liquid was everywhere in the lobby and heaps of police outside. Just choose another hostel. The rooms are not nice either, we only stayed there because everything was fully booked due to carnival. Our shower was just a pipe.

the hotel was mostly clean and the room was good. the staff is helpful and friendly.

it's far away from the city centre and the area around is pretty dangerous. the water stopped several times and took minutes to come back. (what isn't that nice when you're under the shower)

Not a lot

There was a drive by shooting, guests were shot at late at night, reception was full of broken glass and blood. The staff never reassured us or apologised for this deeply traumatic stay. That aside the bed was so noisy a fly landing would make it squeak, the shower was a cold hose pipe coming out of the ceiling, there was no toilet seat, the shower leaked to the bathroom was a constant flood. Our room was only cleaned on the first day and we were there for 5 so the bin was overflowing and said flood kept growing. The wifi didn’t work in the room. Obviously the most disturbing thing about our stay was the fact that people were actually shot at!!!! Even prior to the shooting we didn’t not feel safe going out at night time we had to get taxis everywhere, we left early.

Booked a room with air conditioning, when I got there they didn't have any available. Receptionist very unfriendly, aggressive and adversarial.

It was cheap, easy check in and stuff was friendly.

The bed just broke when I laid down (I weigh less than 80kg) so I took the mattress and slept on the ground. Stuff didn't speak a single word of English. The bathroom is bad, the toilet didn't have a toilet seat and there is no good air.
