I love that it is spacious and beautifully appointed and the location was perfect. I was there for 5 nights. Cecille was very helpful and efficient. The apartment is on top of what I thought was the best wine shop in St Emillion and all the staff there were very helpful.

We liked everything

The apartment is spacious and well located in the central area of St Emillion. The facilities are good and the property was it appears recently renovated.

Access is via 2 flights of very narrow stairs. We arrived very late and because the door between the 2 floors was open, with the signage on the back, we had no idea which door led to the apartment. The door to the bathroom doesn't fit into the frame. The bed is extremely firm and needs a topper. The kitchen lacks equipment for cooking. There were a few pre-cleaning issues such as bins left with rubbish and dirty basins. The biggest problem though was the sound and vibration from some sort of generator or electrical device elsewhere in the building. This kept us awake the first night. Luckily our second night was peaceful. Beware of having a long shower as the hot water ran out after 1 long shower. There's no welcome package, and we simply had one small wine sample in the owner's shop below. The details are incorrect saying that wine/champagne is included. Overall it's a great apartment albeit expensive.

Great location and the owners (wine shop below - bonus) were lovely and easy to deal with in English. Very large suite with kitchen, separate lounge and bathroom. Huge. A lot of charm in a very old building. Good value, would recommend and stay again.

Best location at the heart of the town in close proximity to essential sites, excellent restaurants, and the main shops. Easy check in and check out procedures.

Our main issue is cleanliness. The kitchen had only a dirty, very old sponge, so we resorted to using paper towels to give an extra cleaning of any flatware and drink ware we used. Good that there is a dishwasher to sterilize anything, but the presence of a disgusting sponge was not pleasant. There was a previous guest’s old bar of soap on the hardware where the liquid shower gel dispenser attached to the tile wall and the shower was not cleaned (or at least not thoroughly since there was visible dirt and someone else’s hair in the stall). When we were shown into the flat, the floors had some wet areas which is a good sign that some cleaning was done. Our host opened up the windows complaining of the strong, cleaning chemical smell which was overbearing. Also, the air conditioner was not operating, so it was very warm on the exceptionally hot day of our arrival and throughout the duration of our stay. There should have at least been some instruction to open the windows to let the hot air out from this upper level flat. We left the windows open so it wouldn’t be so hot and so we could rest, but we awoke early each morning to the noise from the main street when inhabitants begin to stir, children head to school, shops open up, and bells from the tower ring.

We loved everything about this property. Location, size, ambience, furniture, bed comfort, shower, greeting were all wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone staying in St Emilion.
