Perfect, unpretentious, basic, beautiful!
Stripped back beachside accommodation to its essence.
Just don’t compare it to a 5 star hotel!

Lovely helpful and kind owner. Looked after us so well, also arranged fab boat trip for just my family and sorted all our transfers. Beautifully designed huts.
Cannot swim as the beach is too rocky to walk out from. On the upside this kept it quiet.

Beautiful bungalows on a remote location, but John is happy to arrange all possible transfers (from the airport). We went on a boat trip with them, which was also an amazing experience. You are in a jungle, away from all the hustle, an hour of walking from the nearest, beautiful beach - but it is worth it. A little restaurant and bar is also on site to fulfill all your necessities.

Literalmente me marché llorando!

John was super welcoming. Everything was so peaceful calm and nice. The food was super good best in palawan that we tried.
The beachfront houses were amazing - wake up and see the beach. Perfect time there

We had the perfect stay here, the big hilight is John and his staff. He is is wery very welcoming and funny! The place itself is a paradise (even with bad weather!) it's just you, your bungalow, the sea and the jungle. If you're looking for a place to lay back and take a rest it's the perfect place. John organises island hopping tours and you'll also find two waterfalls nearby. You can also grab kayaks if you want. The food is great and generous. Cheers John!

Great food! Amazing location, beautiful open-air cottage structures. The planting and landscaping of the beach and cottage area was outstanding. Loved the common restaurant building and beachside dining experiences.
Would recommend downloading an offline map to the cottages through the maps.me app before traveling! Road access to the cottages was a bit difficult and google maps does not show a correct route. John tried his best to contact us along the way to help out, but due to spotty internet it was tough to receive directions while we were on route on our motorbikes.

Our best experience on the entire island of Palawan. Without a doubt, arriving at Prince John Cottage is like arriving in paradise on earth. John is undoubtedly the best host we have met in the Philippines: the attention, the activities he offers, the services he provides are priceless. Thanks to him we have been able to enjoy the experience to the fullest without worrying about anything. He took care of us from our arrival to our departure, taking care of all the details. The site is located away from the city centre, being a more private and exclusive place. Near this wonderful place you find an ecosystem from islands to waterfalls.
Thank you very much John for letting us enjoy your kingdom, we are eternally grateful.

My favourite stay in the whole of the Philippines
Truly a paradise location! Our open fronted ‘treehouse’ room faced the beach and we woke to the most ideal if views every morning. Loved the feeling of living in nature and the ‘glamping’ feel of the accommodation.
John was a fabulous host, who could not have done more to make his guests feel welcome.
The Prince John boat trip was intimate and wonderful with the most delicious lunch. The evening BBQ was absolutely delicious. I also loved the isolation of the location. I’d go back in a heartbeat
Although I felt safe the entire time, as the property was wide open, a Safety deposit box would have eased my mind.

The food was descent but your only choice in this hell so get prepared to pack some food before you go there and the staff was very polite as all people from the Philippines are.
Well, if you like to sleep in between snakes and cockroaches this is the place to be, for us this type of accommodation could not possibly work out especially for the money we paid as we got really afraid for our children. (John did give us his best cottage on his defense however it was still full of bugs and my husband had a morning visitor-the snake-when he was in the toilet). Additionally the beach in front of the accommodation is full of rocks and you cannot swim in any way unless you get a boat and get out of there. Additionally we asked John if it would be a good idea to rent a car and drive there and he told us yes, well it was not, the road there is definitely not safe and in many parts it is not even a road just rocks, thankfully we had a 4x4 but still the way there was a nightmare and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to reach the place by car.
The cottage did not have any fridge or any hot water in the bathroom which is also outside. There is no lock so all your things are pretty exposed.
We had no other option but to leave after our first night. John did apologise to us many times however it would be better to had a disinfection done instead. We additionally asked John since we had already paid for three nights for two rooms just to give us the breakfast as a treat and he didn’t do even that although we went through a nightmare at his place and he could definitely see that.
We got really tricked by the good reviews and I feel that we had to speak up the truth about the “paradise” we also anticipated.

Few people, very nice staff. Close to nature. Food was ok, very big portions for us. You can go to Biggaho waterfall, very good beaches on that way. Islad hopping wort it.
Beach very rocky, hard to go to the water. 15 minutes walking are good beaches.

such a beautiful stay and John really goes above and beyond. It is very basic though and 1-2 nights is definitely enough as you can’t really leave at night due to being so secluded unless you want to get a dangerous trycycle ride.
John is great but the rest of the staff are not as helpful the restaurant is also nice but not many options especially if you are there for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Very friendly staff, John makes sure that everything is perfect. They will go out of their way to make sure that you get the full experience ❤ the boatmen are the most thoughtfull throughout the island hopping.
The strays are the most behaved, sweet and friendliest, please give them treats 🙏
Definitely worth coming back and staying longer. 👌

This is an authentic, beautiful location. We loved sleeping with the sound of the sea and seeing the beach as the first thing after waking up. The staff did go out of their way to make our trip even better.
Since the accommodation is on a small island, there is no ATM nearby.

Unreal! from the moment you reach the beach after the boat pick up in port Barton to the discovery of the bungalow with an insane outdoor shower! The Staff is really thoughtful, food is delicious, 10/10

Amazing location, paradise on the beach. Clean and good bed, fun “outside” bathroom. Good food. And John is an amazing host!
This accommodation might not be the best suitable option for travelers who have just arrived from colder climates. As there is no fan or aircon. But location and chillness is definitely worth it!!

It’s a paradise, oasis’s of palm trees and a beautiful private beach.
sstaying in the heat with a lot of nature noise when just arriving after long travels. I was not used to it yet but this is not the fault of the property.

John's place is a small heaven, it's a private beach far from other places. the place is very simple but in a very good way. so clean and beautiful. John is a real host, and he made sure we be comfortable and happy. Food was so great! The bungalows are magical with a beach view from the bad. We will definitely visit his place again when coming back to Philipines

The owner is very accomodating. He's hands on with this guest. The place feels like a second home because of his ability to entertain well.
The accomodation is clean and big. The food is delicious and served with generous amount.
The road is rough and bumpy. This was mentioned also by the owner since their place is secluded. Easiest way to reach the resort is via boat in Port Barton Town Proper.

It was my best stay in the Philippines! literally a paradise !! cabins surrounded by palm trees, ocean views, amazing food. They picked us up at the van station and took us back. the owner is also soooo nice!! all impeccable, 1000 points!

we have been looking for an extraordinary place to relax and we found it. Even the arrival with the van and from Port Barton by boat to the destination was a well organised adventure.
The Host John cares for his clients and tries to make wishes come true. Also he is a very good cook.
The destination is situated between jungle and the South Chinese Ocean.
Kajaks are for free. John offers snorkelling tours with barbecue on an abandoned island. You will probably meet starfish and turtles.
we highly recommend this resort.
For us everything was perfect. Disabled people will surely have problems to get on the boat

We strongly recommend this place.

We can only recommand John's cottages. It has been a blast to stay there. The cottage are exactly what we were looking for : wooden houses the feet on a sand beach. The restaurant is great as well. Everything is tasty and well cooked - the seafood is delicious. The staff is super sweet and attentive to your needs.
John is an inspiring person. Full of dedication, service minded, great sense of humour and we loved our discussion and shared stories.
The day tour has been great to see the fishes, corals and star fish. We used the free kayak and went to the waterfall 1h walk from the cottage.
Thank you again John! Hope to see you again soon ☺️

Our experience at Prince John’s was truly amazing and we highly recommend this place. John and his staff have been super helpful to organize our time in Port Barton. The Bungalows are really confortable (with a real Bali vibe), the snorkeling tour was great and the food exquisite. Great job 👍
