This lovely home worked great for our family trip, and the owners were extremely friendly, responsive and helpful.

We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back! Everything was ready for us and the hosts were so awesome!!! Wendy and Erik are extremely easy going and even bought pizza and beer for our first night up! Looking forward to coming back very soon!

This was was absolutely perfect for our long weekend getaway. We came up with 6 teenage boys for a birthday celebration and the house fit us perfectly. All of the boys took the upstairs bedrooms while my husband and I stayed downstairs. The huge open downstairs was great for hanging out. There were so many outdoor seating areas as well. The hot tub and firepit was great after a long day. There were definitely a lot of steps to get to the house, but this wasn't a big deal for us. The host was very easy to communicate with and showed us around the house when we arrived. This house is old and has been lived in well so don't expect it to be squeaky clean.

We had plenty of room. The house was in a beautiful location. We all had a great time!

The house and yard are wonderful, the location is fantastic. The stairs to the house were a bit hard on the elderly members of my family, but we knew what we were getting into after reading some reviews. The loft bedrooms were also a bit tricky to visualize from the description and it took a few conversations to understand if it would work for us. For our kids, they work great. Better photos or a video tour would be very helpful. All in all, the house was really fun- Great for kids, great for the dog, with plenty of things to get into without even leaving the house. Hot tub was clean, yard was fantastic, awesome mountain biking trail only a couple blocks away, beach down the hill…Hope to return someday. Hosts were wonderful.

The back deck is great for relaxing and watching the wildlife. We even saw a black bear just doing bear things.

Overall the main living area of the house was nice for a group or family. The house is older and worn. The main issue was the 45 steps to get to the house. It was extremely difficult carrying luggage and our groceries, etc., to the main house. Plus to get to 4 of the beds you have to go through another bedroom or use a very old spiral staircase. There were no written instructions to use hot tub, to use the Roku TV system or departure instructions.

The location was perfect for our ski trip and the hosts were very accommodating. We did have some concerns regarding cleanliness as there was an obvious ant problem and some rotten food in the fridge. Overall though, our hosts were very responsive to questions throughout our stay.

Exceptional property and close to everything! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Wendy made check in and out extremely easy and was very accommodating. House was very large and slept my group comfortably. Fantastic deal for South Lake Tahoe.

The house is lovely! Warm, inviting, and stocked with games, books, sleds for snow, and lots of other thoughtful details. The owners were communicative, flexible and very kind. We will definitely be back!!

We had a good time despite all the ash and smoke. The pictures displayed are not entirely correct. There are a lot of steps to get to the main house. Lots of room and it is located close to everything.

Had such an amazing stay at the Tall Tree Lodge! The location is great and the house is cozy and welcoming. Just a quick drive to the lake and the kids had such a great time exploring the forest in the backyard. We definitely worked out our leg muscles coming and going but it was worth it! Erik was kind and responsive. Would definitely stay again!

We had plenty of space and felt relaxed, the back yard and porch were a favorite spot of ours. This location was also just outside of the main city, not too close and not too far. We had a wonderful time. The location was fantastic - we really loved the setting in the woods, there was great space to walk the dog, and it was a 2 minute drive to the California base. The house is very well stocked for cooking, and felt very homey and comfortable. Some might feel it needs a little updating, but everything worked well and it was great for us. The owners were very helpful with suggestions and very communicative. Can't wait to go back. Thanks!

We had a wonderful time staying at your cabin. Very spacious and well equipped. The dogs loved the wide open backyard. Perfect location, and on a heavy snow day, we were able to ski all the way from Heavenly into the backyard! We will definitely come back to stay again. Our pre-holiday getaway to South Lake Tahoe was fabulous thanks to Erik and Wendy's amazing cabin/retreat. This place is conveniently located near beautiful Heavenly Village and offered all of the amenities we wished for. During this time of uncertainty, family time and making wonderful memories is number one! So happy we got away to the much needed change of scenery. Making delicious meals in their well stocked kitchen, playing games at the huge family size dining table and being surrounded by amazing scenery was priceless. Plenty of room for big families and groups. The kids had a blast with fuzeball and the many channel options on the big screen TV in large comfy living area. We loved the nightly outdoor firepit and the indoor fireplaces, too!! We all enjoyed the hot tub on the back porch as the snow fell! Truly a winter wonderland - private yet close to everything. Thank you for the forever imprint our trip to your exceptional VRBO made for all of us in South Lake Tahoe! Tall Tree Lodge had plenty of outdoor seating /space so that we were able to properly distance ourselves and follow CDC guidelines for the pandemic. Wonder were immediately responsive and went above and beyond to accommodate a couple of special requests! We have probably rented two dozen houses in Tahoe over the years, but this was, by far, the best. All guests mentioned how special and perfect the house was for our special occasion!!

This place is out of the extraordinary, we came in a group of 11 and there was more than enough room for us. Erik was there when we arrived and he showed us the house and what to expect. BEERS & PIZZA?! Yes, Wendy and Erik did that! I would highly recommended this place to any gatherings. The back yard into the wilderness was my favorite spot, the jacuzzi was a bonus. Upstairs master bdrooms have so much space and the bed feels great to sleep on, not those hard cardboard ones. Bikes & beach stuff all ready for us, if we needed it. Everything you see in these photos looks soo much better in person. I would mos def come back and book this place again. Lastly the stairs, i had my workout for the weekend. Overall we had a great stay.

Erik and Wendy were wonderful hosts! They let us check in early and check out late since we had our boat with us and we wanted to take advantage of the lake one more day. There were 11 of us for a family trip and we all fit comfortably. Such a great place! We loved it!
