Super-Max, real guesthouse. Great service, from breakfast/dinner to tours. Comfortable and clean. The terrace is a plus.

Direct neighborhood isn't great, bit in 5min walking you find a lot of nice shops and restaurants.

Max is a superb host. This is owned and ran my his family. He is the manager, his dad owner, the dad cook. His nephews were adorable and helped with bags and food. Breakfast and dinner is provided and we particular enjoyed the dinner . He went out of his way to bring us extra blankets and a space hearted for no charge when we said we were cold

Basic amenities but all you really need anyway. Area was a bit noisy as it’s close the heart of city with some trash on otherside of road but that didn’t bother too much. Make sure to bring cash as credit card not taken

This is the perfect home base for your stay in Agra. We had a wonderful sleep and breakfast there, the room was very spacious and had everything we needed. The owner, Max, is incredibly welcoming and friendly. He helped us tremendously (arranged a car for us, good recommendations, restaurants, etc...) and we are so grateful to him for everything. Definitely would highly recommend this guest house!

Falls ihr Wäsche waschen wollt, nutzt nicht den Waschsalon neben dem Hotel. Sehr teuer und die Klamotten waren nicht mal richtig sauber. Leider hat Max es uns empfohlen...

Everything was great. A perfect welcome from Max. He called to ask when we were arriving and he was also able to answer my questions. The rooms were clean, tidy. Fully air conditioned rooms. A hot shower! Lovely food. A dining/social area as well.

First of all the owner Max ….probably one of the most helpful guys you’ll ever meet. He had organised our taxi from Delhi airport to the hotel and allowed us early checkin and then organised our visit around Agra. The following morning on departure for early 6am train …he was up at 5am to make sure we got transport to station.

We spent 2 nights in this hotel, we recommend it. The room was clean, the mattress comfortable, there was hot water, the breakfasts were good! Max is welcoming, caring and helped us prepare our visit to the Taj Mahal 🤗

Cleanliness (Rooms are upkeep, bedsheets are clean), easy to reach location, ample parking space on front of prooerty, Warm Host, Spacious rooms. All arrangements are of A-1 Quality. Surrounding area is peaceful. Rooms with Balcony view are superb and worth the money. All things are personally managed by Mr. Max, the owner of the Property. He actively works to upgrade the room facilities and looks forward to improve the property. Taj Mahal and Agra Red Fort are within radius of ~5kms. A must recommend for all the travellers.

We were greeted by Max on arrival, the guest house is very basic. The room we had was spacious and had a kettle with tea and coffee provided but no creamer. We had a problem with our air-conditioning but it was resolved by Max pretty rapidly. All in all a very practical stay

I like that the place is close to Taj Mahal. It was easy to arrange everything

There was no air conditioning in some of the rooms (the fact that we had known before). As it was extremely hot in Agra, AC helps a lot :) This was however not the fault of the hotel, rather our choice

If you're looking for a guesthouse/hotel in Agra - this is the one you want. It's in the middle of a quiet, chill neighborhood- which can be rare in India. There are plenty of eating spots within walking distance. Lots of street food at night, and there are western style restaurants very close too. The Taj is a 80-100 rupee tuktuk ride from the guesthouse. The facilities are really incredible. I've been traveling India for a month now and it's easily the cleanest (and largest) room I've stayed in. There's a rooftop as well, though, I confess - I didn't make it up there. Now let's talk about Max - he knows why you're in Agra and he'll do what ever he can to facilitate your visit to the Taj and the other sights. I can't stress enough how helpful he is, anything you need - he will make it happen. If you're the kind of person who would rather do your own thing - that's fine - he will leave you alone until you need him. He can also book your train tickets to/from Agra, which is super helpful, and he will even keep an eye on the train so that if it's late, which it probably will be, because it's India... you don't have to wait at the train station. Another bonus is that his English is impeccable. There is a board on the wall at reception with ALL the info you need on it. Opening times, what time you should leave the guesthouse to get to Taj on time, ATM locations, tuktuk fare advice, food options, entry fees. It's really helpful. If you'd like water or a soda/cold drink, Max has those on the property as well. I had my info and plans pretty much figured out before I came, but if I arrived in Agra knowing absolutely nothing - I would have been fine. Max will give you all the info you need to see and do all the things in Agra, then move on to your next destination with as little friction as possible. Seriously. This is the one you want. And if you're on the fence, do it.

There is no such thing

Great clean spot in Agra. Max was super helpful with all our needs, gave us a larger room, and even booked our train tickets back to Delhi. The spot is not in the central tourist area so it’s less overwhelming and quieter. Highly recommend!

Food options on the property are limited but Max can give recs for places to eat.

We had a wonderful stay at Max Guesthouse. The accommodation is very spatious and clean, with communal areas for guests to use. Max is a great host. He is very helpful and trustworthy. He made us feel at home and helped us navigate Agra in a very welcoming manner. I can recommend Max Guesthouse for individual as well as group travel. A big THANK YOU and thumb's up to Max! 👍

The location was perfect as a base to explore Agra and visit the Taj. Clean, simple rooms. Max and his family are the perfect hosts, giving great advice on local restaurants, and how best to see the Taj Mahal. Max also arranged a taxi for us to get to the train station. He was also kind enough to allow us to store our bags after check out and use a room to quickly shower before our train ride. He honestly couldn’t do enough to make our visit to Agra better.

The beds were quite hard but all the positives of this place make that a tiny detail
