This is a great location and with the option of parking (payable) makes it handy. Marine was welcoming, friendly and helpful and also suggested where we head for supper which was great.

Sadly the hotel needs renovation. Our room had a damaged ceiling in the bathroom from a previous leak, the shower was a dribble, the toilet needed maintenance and our bedding was as tired as we were, the old, dirty and ripped curtains were hanging off in places and generally our room was dated and certainly not representative of the amount of money we paid. This is not a five star property as the booking rate says, I would rate it around 2 stars. The reception and general purpose areas are full of unused pieces of furniture, piled up everywhere, it is messy and looks more hostel than hotel. Outside maintenance repairs are needed to the building, pigeons are living in the roof and it is tatty and looking uncared for. The pictures on the booking.com site are not representative of the condition today (Feb 2023). If you want a centrally located room for the night with off street parking (bookable/payable) and can bag a hostel/motel type room rate then it does the job, but don’t expect 5 stars or it to be a true reflection of the photos.
