Amazing location .. nice beach feeling of a private property just for you The hospitality of the staff is unique

The room is spacious and well decorated. The bed is comfy, there is warm water with enough water pressure. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful and the outside area is also very nice. Probably the best hotel in Sri Lanka.

Lovely location. The beach was incredible and clean. The hotel was comfortable and clean and well managed and maintained. The staff were excellent. I wish I could stay longer.

One of our best hotels in hole sri lanka. Starting with the friendly and helpfull staff, the beautiful beach area in front of the hotel. Nobody disturbs you and relaxing with kids is absolutely possible. Also the prices in the reataurant are realy fair. There is not a lot around even if you have a car like us. So we extended our stay over for 3 more nights. One of the good hotels that have the AC not directly in front of the bed.

The pool area is seperated in a kids and adult pool but the gab between is not realy conveniant and clever build.

By far the best hotel we stayed in Sri Lanka. Flawless service and whatsapp ordering system for everything from the bar - well done! Very good breakfasts! Nice location with a very good restaurant nearby. Quiet, calm down, nothing but rest.

Air Condition a bit too loud to be able to sleep with it on at night. There is a fan though, so it's not a big problem.

Beautifully made stylish boutique hotel. We had probably the best room of the property, which was really spacious, stylish and comfy. Nice balcony with a good view, although not very private as almost all the balconies can see each other. The breakfast (set menu) was tasty and same goes for the dinner, (we had a really tasty mullet fish one night, not so tasty the other night though), cocktails and food in general.

The pool was extremely dirty!!! As there is sand right next to the pool (might look nice, but very impractical), it must be difficult to take enough care of it. The beach is empty and wild, but the current is extremely strong, so it is impossible to go in. That made the pool issue even bigger. Also the pool is quite small for all the guest. The reception guy is not friendly at all, not to say rude. We did not even get a welcome drink (which we had in every other hotel we stayed) and for that price we would expect it. The room service/cleaning is very slow. Also prepare for being in a secluded place with nothing else to do. The massage is expensive compared to other places, that’s probably why the SPA ladies mostly just stood on the poolside. Must say there are much better hotels/villas in the same price range in Sri Lanka with better beaches and services. Would not go to Tangalle again.

The place is amazing, location is great - just two steps away from the fantastic ocean beach, beach and swimming pool facilities are well managed. Room is big, bathroom is spacious, bed is comfortable. Personnel is doing exceptional work to make people feel good being there! Very friendly, helpful and always with a smile! Definitely the place to come back.

The food could be a bit better. Pancakes are ugly 😱 and the service is extremly long (despite the fact we have to pre order)

we were missing a bit authenticity due to the service which was absolutely basic. staff was slow (e.g. dishes around the hotel were not cleaned until the next day) and there could have been a more friendly and welcoming vibe.

Barely no service at pool or beach area (you have to go all way to the restaurant to ask). Breakfast is just regular (all of 6 types). Swimming in the ocean is almost forbidden as it has very raw tides. Lack of staff in the bar/restaurant. No TV in the room. For a retreat, the SPA is really bad, no view, nothing. Expecting better.

The Beach is Beautiful and interesting to see the fishermen catch some fish. The room is Beautiful. Food is fantastic we ended up eating in the hotel all the meals, smart to have good prices so you dont have to eat somewhere else. Friendly and helpful staff. Good Ayraverda massage.

It was just perfect! Quiet place, amazing room and delicious food! Very happy we stayed here for a few nice, really enjoyed our stay and the lovely staff members. 100% recommand a stay here, if you are looking for a beautiful time out and a moment of peace this is the right place.

One of the best boutique hotels we've ever visited!

It's an absolute gem if you are looking for a calm, relaxing vacation on the beach near the ocean. The hotel sits just 50 metres from the beach - you can see the views of the ocean from your balcony. The surroundings are amazing - you can walk along the vast shore for miles without hardly meeting anyone, except for a crab or two :). Compared to other places near Sri Lankan coast that we visited during our trip (like Unawatuna, Galle) this was by far the best beach experience. We would come back again without a doubt.

The food at the hotel restaurant could be a bit better :) But there are at least several alternative options nearby - so it is not a problem.

We stayed at Lankavatara for one night to break up our journey from Mirissa to Yala National Park - we wished we could have stayed for longer! we had a lovely welcome from all staff and pretty much had the place to ourselves. We had a sea view where we could watch the local fisherman going out at sunrise - the seafood was delicious too.

We are from Germany and spent one week from 28.07-04.08.2022 in the Resort. First we only booked 3 days, but is was so amazing that we decided on our first day to stay there the whole Time bevor leaving Sri Lanka. The lankavatara is a small paradise with a high class service. The architecture is amazing it is very modern with a mix of receycled wood elements. The resort is blended into the nature. It is a Perfect place to calm down. We had a complet ocean view suite with a huge terrace. You can have breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in the open restaurant or on your room. The breakfast was the best we ever had. You can choose between 5 different menues. The food quality is very good and super fresh. The fresh juiced were the best we had in Sri Lanka. They also offered a romatic beach dinner free of extra charge. The resort and the rooms were super clean and were cleaned every day. You also get fresh towels for the bath and beach and two big glas bottles every day. You can order food, Snacks and drinks via WhatsApp or on the Restaurant to your room or to the beach. The Hotel also organised a transfer from Ella to the Hotel and Airport Transfer for us for a good Price. Further more the Hotel can organise all kinds of transfers, tours, safari, tuk tuk, Scooter rental for you and its free of charge and you get the best price. The Manager Mr. Dealan is super friendly and helpful and speaks perfect english. He organised a safari to yala national Park for us and a tuk tuk Tour to tangalle and diffrent beaches. The hotel also offeres some bicycles to explore the area. The streets around the Hotel are very good and new. There are some small foodstores around. Lunch and Dinner is a la carte. In high Season there are 3-4 Restaurants close to the Hotel. But you can also be feed exclusively by the hotel. We traveled around the world, but the lankavatara was the best accomandation we ever had. The beach is very clean and there are no beach vendors. The hotel also has a spa.

The room and bathroom were both spacious, clean and modern. We spent a lot of time enjoying the balcony, the pool, and even the ocean. While you can't necessarily swim out far from shore, you can certainly boogie board or play in the waves if you generally know how to swim. Breakfast was great (a la carte), and we highly recommend getting it delivered to your room! Dinnar (manager/reception) went above and beyond and was easily reachable by WhatsApp for anything we needed. The other staff members were very helpful and nice as well. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants a relaxing few days at the ocean.

We love animals, and the dogs on the property are very friendly, but they were a bit too much to handle while we were eating dinner. As we were the only ones in the dining room, they were constantly begging for food. We ended up eating all our meals in our room, which honestly was much more fun and felt like a bit of extra luxury on our vacation. So, it worked out in the end!
