Lovely location by the lake. Clean & quiet, perfect for a relaxing few days :) the dinner & breakfast we had were also great! You can easily get a bus from the port to Mérida / the cabins just remember to bring cash!

Very sweet family-run property on the lake front

It’s not too far off the road but very private right on the lake, with a beautiful garden, trees and bird song. It’s not huge but still very private and self contained. The 4 cabins are spaced well apart each with their own verandas with 2 hammocks. Tranquil. Gorgeous sunsets. The family are lovely, very kind and helpful. Doña Rosa cooks wonderful traditional meals. The cabins are roomy, sparsely furnished and very clean & comfortable. This is more for the people who like a rustic, more authentic stay that’s restful rather than a party. I really loved it and recommend it highly for those who prefer the roads a little less travelled.

Loved it, but I came on a moto…the trail down to the house is a bit rough for a car.

Amazing place!! The family is so nice and made us feel super welcome. The place is idyllic: it's quite far from restaurants and stuff, but the secludeness of the place is what makes it so incredible. The cabins are very cute with a nice terrace. Facilities are okay: it's fine but not luxurious. There are lots of insects on Ometepe, so also at Rosa's Lake Cabins. I recommend renting a motorbike, because buses aren't frequent. The family is very helpful in many ways: recommending restaurants, arranging tours etc. They can also do your laundry. All in all, really a fantastic stay if you want to go off the beaten track!

They make you feel at home and as part of the family. The food was incredible and everything was very affordable.

The cabin was great and the service was excellent. We ate a breakfast there and all our dinners and had a choice of what we Would like. We had a variety and everything was excellent. Beautiful location and loved being able to swim in the lake at the end of the garden. We booked a kayak tour and a taxi on our way from the ferry to San Juan del Sur also and the driver was waiting when we disembarked. So helpful and welcoming at Rosa’s and we would tell anyone to head there if asked for a recommendation.

Absolutely amazing place run by a friendly family. It is directly next to the lake where you can swim with a view on the volcano! Parrots in the trees and so many pets! If we had more time we could've stayed there for months! Maria organized a scooter and a kayak tour for us. Also the food tastes great and they have all kind of fruit trees and make fresh smoothies! Favorite place on Ometepe for sure!

Lovely cabins near the lake, really clean. Rosa and her family was really helpfull and kind. You feel like home.

The owners were a lovely family who could not do enough for us. They made our stay a good one. We ate there on the first night and the fish was excellent and great value at 500 cords for two people.

A little too rustic for my tastes but still very good value for money

Super nice cabins right at the water, perfect for swimming and relaxing. The whole family is really nice and welcoming. They always prepared me really good food, vegetarian was no problem at all. Surrounded by nature, animals and the lake. The perfect place to unwind a little.

The room itself was kind of unfinished and not that pretty. But as you just stay there for sleeping, it doesn't really matter :)

we loved our stay at Rosa‘s lake cabins! we think the location was perfect. the cabins are right in front of the lake and the whole garden is so beautiful and it is very tranquil. Maria organized everything for us which was really convenient and nice. The communication was also very easy and quick! the whole family was really nice and welcoming. Maria’s brother took us on a Concepcion volcano hike which was a lot of fun, too. Also they cooked us food every morning and every night and it was delicious. And lastly they had the best dogs! Hopefully we will return some day in April! 😊 thank you for everything!

everything was perfect

The friendly family who runs it were lovely, the meals made with their own produce were delicious, and the remote location away from town and by the lake made it a perfect “get away from it all” place to stay.

Maria + her family are amazing. She and her bf took me on a Maderas Volcano hike and helped me practice my spanish, her dad took me kayaking, her mom and sister helped cook and serve meals to my room. Truly an incredible stay I will always remember. Maria took me through her family's farms and taught me a ton about their work, and we still sometimes keep up over WhatsApp. The cabins are huge and a short walk to the water + a nice bar/restaurant. They were flexible with my check in and check out and offered me a coconut as a welcome drink. Wifi worked pretty well except on a Sunday when it was a bit congested.

Just be ready for lots and lots of bugs, definitely sleep in the mosquito net.

Everything about this place is perfect! After 3 months traveling Central American this is my favorite place!! A beautiful lake front cabin, perfect for sitting in the hammock or taking a swim with a volcano right in view. It’s a family’s home in front and private cabins near the lake. All surrounded by beautiful flowers, trees, pigs, chickens, horse and sun dried laundry. The family is absolutely the best part of staying here!! Immediately you are family too. They make amazing food and even showed me a few dishes. As well as there fields were the food they serve grows!! GREAT location! Close to the big waterfall and volcano. Super quiet and peaceful. I rented a scooter and Maria got one delivered right to the house and picked up there. It was so convenient, great price and super easy to drive. never driven one before but there is no traffic so it’s easy. There is also a bus on the main road a block Away. I got it to the main ferry. Ometepe is a magical place. This place, this family highlights all things extraordinary about this Island!

Rosa and her family made me feel welcome immediately! Everyone is so kind and generous, like when the son took me out fishing with him or when I was served free and delicious food every day. I would love to go back some day, and can only recommend this beautiful place!
