The most secluded hotel I've ever stayed in without even a signpost, and that enhances the distinct private magic, with its five mysterious rooms combing comfort and nature so that every vista is uplifting. I loved the birds bobbing their fine long tails outside my open shutters, the monitor lizard flashing its tongue, the verdigris gate out to our private empty beach of white sand. Sublime food, especially the dinner on the beach surrounded by flaming torches.

The only small comment is that even after an explanation by the staff operating the indoor shower was challenging, but there was an outdoor shower

Everything was excellent! The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The common areas were beautifully decorated and plenty of room to relax. We loved the outdoor showers and the bathroom was large, with an open shower. There was a private patio area opening to the green space between the property and the beach which was nice. The room was in the ground level but the breeze was slight. There is A/C which was a necessity! The food was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka! The menu was extensive and delicious. The staff was superb, catering to every need we had including arranging driver to Ella. The location was amazing, just steps away from the Mawella Beach which was deserted and quiet. Thank you for the beautiful stay!

We have stayed in many beautiful hotels around the world, but I think “the last house”, is probably my favourite of all time. Firstly, the property is incredibly beautiful. The gardens are well manicured, and the house is in wonderful condition. You fee as though you are lucky enough to be staying in someone’s beautiful home, instead of a hotel. The manager and staff were so lovely, and we really enjoyed our chats with them. Breakfast was lovely, as was dinner. The beach front location is perfection, as is the beautiful pool. We stayed in the cinnamon hill suite, which has the large bedroom, bathroom and the ocean views from the balcony, which i’d highly recommend booking. We will definitely be returning on our next holiday in Sri Lanka.

No words can describe the beauty of this place. Everything was perfect, the facilities the beach the staff. One of the most incredible places I have ever been to.

A perfect place to fly and flop. The staff were very attentive without interfering.. and the food was excellent...and the position could not be bettered....
