The location was amazing, beach was very close as well as to the busses, restaurants and shops.

General maintenance of the complex including garden. Overall cleanliness of the unit and not all the necessary cooking equipment.

Everything! The location, the apartment, facilities were all great. I will recommend this property as an ideal holiday stay to friends and family.

That we had to leave. One thing, the pin on the map is incorrect, and needs to be corrected, but the actual location is in a better spot, literally on Flic en Flac beach, separated by the coastal road.

Zarine and her husband were very kind and waited for us the night we arrived. They also went to the shop for water and supplies for us which we really appreciated.

I was asked by the host not to post a negative review after she offered me a refund immediately when I complained about the issues with the prooerty. As much as I feel guilty about going against my word, I feel it's my responsibility to make sure other travellers don't have a similar experience. Sadly, we have very little in the way of positivity about the place itself. Zarine and her husband were lovely, but unfortunately that's where the positive experience ended. We arrived late at night, tired and jetlagged after a long day of travelling. We didn't have a good feeling about the place as soon as we arrived, but we put that down to tiredness and went to bed. The following morning, unfortunately the problems kept on coming. There was no hot water in the entire downstairs of the house, meaning we could not wash dishes or do laundry in warm water. Zarine explained that nobody had ever complained about this problem in 4 years of running the property. A fact I find fairly difficult to believe. What I actually think has happened is that many people have received full refunds in return for silence about the issues they have encountered. Which is probably why the place has only received 15 reviews in the time it's been on booking.com. obviously I cannot prove this but I can't believe nobody would just make do with no hot water when they have paid good money for a well-equipped property. The weirdest thing that happened was receiving a message saying not to use the (electric) shower while the air conditioning was running. This rang safety alarm bells but the only explanation I was offered was "your children are safe". Not reassured, we also smelt an electrical burning smell from the electric shower when showering. This was obviously very concerning. A few other points: The security measures around the house actually make it feel unsafe rather than safer and the area just didn't feel that great.

The housing is just perfect! Great location - few steps to the beach, the shops and restaurants are near. But its quite there with your own privacy. And Zarin (owner) is just wonderful - helps you with everything 😀

Everything from our reception by Zerine, location, confort, but mostly the service she gave us from arrival day, she drove us to the nearest restaurant for takeaway as we arrived late, departure day my son left his mobile phone in the apartment, our host Zerine sent it to our address in madagascar with DHL and we just recieved it. What a wonderful place and a perfect host. We'll surely always stay there on our future visits to Mauritius and will recommend casa marina to all our contacts. Thank you Zerine.
