We spent a week at this house. There was plenty of room, we never felt like we were on top of each other. The kitchen was well stocked. Lots of parking and it was nice to use the garage. We saw a lot of animals (deer, moose, wild turkeys and such. Beautiful view.
The only negative was that we couldn’t get into the pool and other amenities, we needed a little more information on that. See you next year!

Plenty of room for all. Had an amazing moose right in the back yard. We spent most of our time at the north bear lake where the water was the most amazing blue.

We had a great stay at The Hideout. There was plenty of room for our large family. The beds were comfortable, lots of extra bedding and kitchen supplies. The view was incredible!

We LOVE Bear Lake, but we’re disappointed by this rental. The owners ghosted me repeatedly when I had questions or reported issues at the house (such as the cable not working) so I eventually gave up and stopped trying to communicate. I tried both the manager’s phone number listed in the binder and the app messaging system.
The clubhouse information is inaccurate. There is no pool table, foosball, beach volleyball, etc. There is only a swimming pool and beach access. The sign on the gate indicates that “wristbands are required” and the owner confirmed that we needed them, but gave no information about how to obtain them. I would have loved a reply so we could track down the promised destinations, the teens in our group were extremely disappointed.
The house itself is in poor repair. The toilets run constantly and when we looked in the tank, they are held together by zip ties that get caught on the mechanisms. There’s a rodent living in the basement walls that you can hear scurrying around the rooms.
Many closets were locked and unusable and the pantry and fridge had several shelves full of food labeled “owners, do not use.” There’s a rule that you can only eat on the main floor, despite dining tables and kitchens on the other floors. It is extremely limiting. I have stayed in many VRBOs and never witnessed an owner lock you out of so many portions of the house.
Overall, while the house and views are beautiful, we would not stay again.

This is our second time staying at this cabin.
We love the view and area, access to legacy beach.
It was a good size for our extended family vacation.
Cleanliness was not quite as good this time as the time before.
Overall we had a great time and this cabin was a great place to stay. 😊

The house was just as expected. Beautiful view of the lake in a great secluded location. Plenty of parking for our family and we appreciated the fully stocked kitchen. Also plenty of extra blankets and pillows. We will definitely be back!

Just a few minutes to Bear Lake but still up in the hills so you have a cabin feel. Plenty of parking (I brought my side by side, my brother brought his wave runner and my other brother brought his boat). Plenty of room.

Loved our stay. Lots of space. Beautiful furniture and great TV's. Lots for kids to do - stocked toy closet and play area. Two things affected our family reunion. The online listing said it sleeps 32. We were surprised that there was only chair seating for 14 plus 8 bar stools. We had to bring a table and 10 chairs to seat our group for meals. The second, the listing said 5 queen beds and they were VERY SMALL queens, more like double beds, and made it uncomfortable for the couples in those rooms. Several slept on couches instead. The King Sized beds were great. Also the garage floor was so dirty and stickly from foods spilt by the fridge and dripped about.and tracked in on our feet. Location was wonderful - we enjoyed being so close to the Bridger Adventure Park. And I personally loved the towels!! We had a great reunion just some were less rested than others. Bailey was great at communicating immediately to me before the event and during answering all our questions. Bring your own soap and shampoo. Laundry was stocked and dish soap enough for all our dirty dishes.

Loved our stay! Awesome views! Plenty of room for all 30 of us!

We loved this place! With 3 levels inside and 2 outside it never felt as crowded as it was. They had plenty of furniture (tables, chairs, etc.) and supplies (dishes, blankets, towels) for a large group. It was wonderful to be in the peaceful quiet of the mountains while also having easy access to the pool and lake. We would definitely recommend!

Beautiful home set up perfectly for our family reunion. The kids had a blast playing ping pong and playing on the outdoor climbing structure . Beautiful views! We even saw a moose in the woods. Loved our stay!

This house is perfect for a large group. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The yard was perfect / our kids spent hours on the playground and playing in the grassy areas. The house has high end finishes, and is fully stocked with everything that you need. It also has an amazing view of bear lake!
We loved having access to the legacy beach club. It made it very convenient for parking, access to the beach, and they have a pool and hot tub there.
My only negative was that the garage and front porch were pretty dirty. We hosed off the front porch area, but couldn’t do much with the garage. Definitely not a reason not to stay here - just feedback for the homeowners/cleaners. Also, you should update your website pictures. The house is much prettier in person which was a nice surprise!
We would highly recommend this property and hope to visit it again!

We had 10 adults and 15 children and teens age 4-18. It couldn't have been a better place for our family reunion! Beds enough for everyone and a beautiful amazingly well stocked kitchen. It is in a picturesque location overlooking Bear Lake and a gorgeous view of the mountains. It is minutes to shops and Bridgerland Adventure Center. This would be our first choice when coming back to Bear Lake. Highly recommend it!
5.0
The home was amazing, and the view of Bear Lake was great. We had a few questions which were answered very quickly by the property manager.
Our only 'gripe' would be that on the listing, it says "Basic soaps" amenities. Which we probably should have realized would be only hand soap and dish soap, but we assumed it would be basic shampoo/conditioner/body wash so not many people packed those products. It would be nice to have that clarification.
The cabin is clean, and there was room for all 26 of us to spread out comfortably.
Also, to access to Legacy Beach clubhouse was awesome. We enjoyed walking back and forth from the pool/hot tub to the lake.
Thank you for sharing your home!

Very comfortable house. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything that we needed. We had a great time and made great memories.

This house has plenty of room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. The kitchen was big and the deck and views were incredible. It was private yet convenient to town. Loved the yard and amenities. The only recommendation we’d give the owners is to replace the twin mattresses because we had adults sleeping on them and they could feel the springs in their backs! We’ll definitely be coming back though!

Beautiful mountain rental
We loved this home. It was beautiful and clean. Access to the private beach and pool/ hot tub was a plus.
Beds weren’t all comfy but other than that we enjoyed our stay. 😊

Great first time visit to Garden City
Our family of 26 stayed in the Hideout for 5 days in late June. The check in / access process was quick and simple. The house upon arrival was exactly as described. Definitely large enough to give our extended family plenty of space. The deck was the highlight in the evenings. We also found ourselves spending time around the firepit three of the five nights.
Overall a very nice home in a great location overlooking the lake. The pool and hot tub access were a big hit during the day. It's right on the edge of the beach which provided easy access to our pontoon. We will definitely stay in the Hideout when we return.

For 5K, I wish it would’ve been cleaned before our arrival.
Let’s start with the negatives- Upon arrival immediately disappointed with how filthy everything was!! All toilets absolutely DIRTY and DISGUSTING!!! Kitchen filthy, floors and counters not clean, microwave and fridge not clean. Property advertised to accommodate large groups- Fridges and freezers full of owners food, pantry half full of owners personal food- leaving not much storage for large groups bringing their own stuff.
Not enough towels stocked. Towels that were supplied in cabinets were wet! Amenities not as advertised- no soap, almost no toilet paper on site.
Positives- Beautiful views, plenty of room for large groups. Large deck. Lots of parking.

Great cabin
Hideout at bear lake was a blast to stay at. I had my family, as well as my fiancees stay there to witness our marriage. It was a perfect stay. From the views, to the activists, there was plenty to do when we finished our ceremony. Thanks for the awesome stay!

Awesome Winter Getaway
This place is great!! We stayed here as a group of 18 adults and everything was exactly as advertised. There was space for everyone and didn’t feel crowded at all. Everything was clean and the kitchen is well stocked with pans and utensils to cook for large groups. The location is easy to find and the views of the lake and mountains are BEAUTIFUL! We skied Beaver Mountain and went snow mobiling with EPIC Adventures and had the best experience with both!! If you are looking for a quiet, family friendly get away in the winter this place is definitely worth looking into! If you are staying in the winter I would definitely recommend an AWD or 4x4 vehicle. The driveway and road leading up to the cabin was cleared as far as deep snow but still snow packed and slick. Thank you for letting us enjoy the Hideout! We can’t wait to come back again some day!

Perfect for a big family
We stayed with 24 of us ranging from newborns to grandparents. There were lots of toys for the kids and lots of relaxing areas for the adults.

Great Family House!
This house was great for our big family vacation, it was well laid out and spacious. The owners were responsive and friendly. My only heads up to future renters is that the mattresses for the kids (bunk room and mattresses for the floor) would not work for an adult, you can feel all the springs in them, the little kids didn’t complain, but I would not count on those for grown ups.

Great space for a family reunion

Family Reunion
Great location to hold a large family gathering. The number of bedrooms (9) and bathrooms (6) are unique, and made it especially comfortable and uncongested. The owner and property manager were both great, and the home was clean and well-equipped. It's about 5 - 10 minutes to Garden City and the beach, but the views up on the mountain side are really beautiful and relaxing. The Legacy club connection was really a plus.

Great for a family reunion!
We enjoyed this beautiful home with fabulous views ! Plenty of room and fun outdoor space. The beach access and pool were perfect. The beds were all great with the exception of the bunk room. Lots of things marked owners only which is unusual. Bring your own salt and pepper and enjoy this fabulous home!

Hideout Fun
We haven't visitied Bear Lake for a few years and this recent family stay was fantastic. The view of the lake was spectacular and early morning momma & baby moose visits were an added bonus. Everyone was comfortable with their own room and bathroom with plenty of play spaces for kids and adults. Ping pong competitions were fierce! We ate mostly on the covered balcony to enjoy the view. The Hideout's kitchen easily handled a few cooks at a time with plenty of fridge space in kitchen as well as an extra fridge/freezer in garage. We wished the balcony table, highchair, and toddler table had been wiped down (we know how outdoor furniture gets dirty pretty quickly) but the interior of the house was very clean and organized. After fun water activities on the lake, it was nice to come back to a cool house to rest and rejuvenate for games & food. We would definitely stay at The Hideout at Bear Lake again.

Great Stay!
We had a great time as a family and would come back, the only thing we were a little disappointed about is we thought the swimming pool was closer to the home, it is a pool that you can access in town. Also, we thought per the info that we could access ATV trails right from the neighborhood but you have to go out on a main road to get to them. Overall, great place to stay!

Nice Place For A Get-Away, Cut A Few Corners However
Pros: Nice location and property - just minutes from Garden City with a beautiful lake view. The house is well laid out and functional. The house faces west so the decks and backyard are nicely shaded in the afternoon. Eating and relaxing out on the deck was delightful. The Nest based HVAC worked well which is important in a location such as Bear Lake where daytime highs and nighttime lows can be extreme. The TVs were large, of good quality, and access to Dish is provided. A local moose cow visited us and wandered around outside the house giving us ample views of this beautiful creature.
Cons: There were a few misses. The antler light fixture over the kitchen table throws light up but the antlers kept light from the table itself (bad for card games, board games, reading at the table). To spend good money on a beautiful property and then put low-end mattresses on on the beds was unfortunate. Simple, light-weight down comforters with duvet covers would be a huge upgrade as well. At this price point, the bathrooms should be stocked with shampoo/conditioner/body wash (would be especially helpful given the number of bathrooms so guests didn't have to cart up multiple bottles). For less than $5/week, dispensers mounted to the shower walls could be refilled with high quality product and would be extremely convenient for guests. For a property meant for week-long stays, bringing a bunch of travel-sized product is not convenient. The kitchen is reasonably well stocked but mostly with lower end dishes. Also, there were almost no serving utensils. The late check-in, early check-out times are also a bit of a negative. While it takes time to clean, it seems that an extra hour on one end or the other is doable given what we have seen renting in other locations. An hour later check-out would be preferred for example. The WiFi is mediocre and seemed to struggle with many devices being connected. For a property that sleeps this many people, and with mediocre cell coverage in the area, having a wireless router that handled more devices would be extremely helpful. Finally, while there is access to a public pool which we did not try due to Cov-19, a property such as this would benefit greatly from a private hot tub.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. With a bit more attention to detail (and an investment in better mattresses/bedding, improved kitchen dishes/serving items and a hot tub), this could be a five-star property.
