We loved our stay! The room was fantastic with a beautiful view, we booked massages and enjoyed the spa facilities and the pool. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and we loved the breakfast menu!

Magnifique vue sur la Baie de Funchal Bel hôtel avec une superbe vue sur la baie. Situation idéale à 15 minutes à pied du centre de Funchal. Notre chambre se situait au 10ème étage Suite de Luxe vue sur mer et le port, spacieuse et très confortable. Buffet pour le petit-déjeuner et diner du soir. Mais pour les soirées, nous avons préféré découvrir les restaurants du centre ville et son ambiance. Personnel aimable, serviable et pour certain parlant le Français très appréciable. L’hôtel est très calme et très reposant "Adults Only", peut être à part les matins au petit déjeuner un peu bruyant à certaines heures (départ pour les excursions). Coté animations, chaque soir il y a un petit concert dans le bar de l’hôtel. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir. __________________________________________________________________

Very nice and modern hotel with fantastic views over Funchal and the ocean. At the same time, in perfect walking distance to the Funchal city center. The pool terrace was amazing and enjoying a drink after your swim with a great view on sunset was a must every day.

The staff could have been more friendly and forthcoming. They were polite but not very service-oriented.

Booking.com should tell people about the spa, and if you book fewer days, you can't use it. Luckily, we got this included.

Nice views, good spa, easy access to city centre

Very rude staff at pool bar 3€ daily discount for no room cleaning apparently involves receiving no tea/coffee/milk as well - not really a sound environmental policy, more just a cost-saving! Also left us with no cups, not even the ones we took with us, and a single bath towel for 5 days - all to save €12!😩

Das Hotel war wirklich sehr schön und stylisch ausgestattet. Alles schien sehr modern, zumindest in den neu renovierten Deluxe Rooms. Auch die Außenanlage war sehr schön, ganz besonders der Blick - passend dazu der Name "the views". Ganz besonders hervorzuheben ist die sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung der Damen und Herren im Restaurant, die offensichtlich einen sehr harten Job zu erledigen haben und niemals ihre Freundlichkeit verlieren.

Die Lage ist etwas oberhalb vom Hafen, bedeutet wenn man in die Stadt laufen möchte, muss man immer den Berg runter und auch wieder rauf. Das kann mitunter mühsam werden. Außerdem hat uns die Lautstärke im Speisesaal nicht gefallen, besser man ergattert einen der wenigen Plätze auf der Außenterrasse. Das Gym könnte etwas sauberer sein.

Really beautiful and modern hotel with fantastic views. Nice design, excellent Spa, lovely staff and great breakfast. Our rooms were on the ninth floor and we recommend staying on the top two floors! The hotel is within walking distance to the old town. We would definitely book again.

This Hotel needs first of all a new fresh up. I´m struggling why they ask for almost 200€ per night, if its not even 80€ worth!

Pool on the rooftop was nice and food was decent

It felt like a budget hotel that was saving on some basic amenities in the name of “sustainability” eg the toiletries provided was a combined shampoo/soap/conditioner hand soap that smelled like bleach. No bathtub just a basic shower in a plastic floored cabin. I was put up in a room on the basement floor with no view, the corridor lights turned off all morning so went you left at 530am you had to navigate in the dark. Early breakfast if you wanted to do any sunrise hikes would only consist of cold meats and cheese. NOT WORTH THE MONEY for what should have been a luxurious stay.

Modern hotel, beautifully and calmly decorated. The staff were all wonderful, couldn’t do enough for you. They helpfully arranged an early 3:45am taxi to the airport in our final day. We enjoyed being pampered here, having spent 5 nights in a self-catered apartment in Porto Moniz with lots of hiking! The facilities were excellent e.g. the spa area, outdoor pool and bar, free parking for hire car. We had a deluxe room so enjoyed the perks that came with this e.g. a la carte breakfast menu made to order, pillow menu, 15% off any drinks in the bars. Speaking of bars, the cocktails available were brilliant and happy hour was always something we tried to take advantage of! We loved the eco room-cleaning incentive too. So, for every day you chose not to have your room cleaned, you would receive €3 off your bill at the end. They still popped in to top up essentials like toilet roll! Had we have had more time, we’d have loved to book in to Desarma, the 1 Michelin-starred restaurant on the top floor; perhaps next time!

My room had a brilliant view. All the staff were really lovely. The pools and facilities were great. Great quality and reasonably priced cocktails.

If you’re in to sunbathing there isn’t enough space /sun loungers around the pool and it becomes a little overcrowded.

The staff is so kind and helpful, the pool and bar are great, the live music is fun, breakfast options are great, and the restaurant (while pricey) is also nice. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Indoor pool is very nice. Great views from all facilities.

Despite there being many elevators, it can be a bit of a wait to get one. The jacuzzi is a nice concept but in reality is not much warmer than the pool which defeats the purpose. The food at the bar was hit or miss from my experience.

I booked this based on the many good reviews I've seen but to be honest it doesn't live to the hype. I can't believe they make you pay extra to use the indoor pool and sauna and for towels too. Like what did i pay a £140 a night for? The room was dirty, really dusty and there were hairs in the showers. On top of that this hotel seems like it's targeted only for old white people, on the breakfast buffet we kept being rudely eyed up by guests as if we didn't have the same right to stay there (?) - for context i'm white passing but my partner is visibly brown. The vibes in this place were definitely off and wouldn't stay there again. - Good thing we only booked for 1 night and ended up staying at Sentido Galomar in Canico which was AMAZING, overlooking the seaside and amazing spa facilities.

Hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the centre of the old town but up a quite steep hill. Might be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues

The location is close to the city center but you need to climb a hill. The breakfast was very good, salmon, cheese, prosecco, fresh fruits. The pool is very nice.

The room was with old furniture, the bed and pillows were inconfortable for the amount of money. We were 10 minutes late for the checkout and the room was blocked.

The views and the staff are great.

The hotel beds are really uncomfortable and the room was very small. Room cleaning was not up to par. The pool is overcrowded and it is hard to find a sunbed past 2PM.

The view was amazing, the food was delicious but the most important thing that makes this hotel so special is the extremely friendly and super helpful STAFF. Everywhere and anytime.

Spectacular view over the city. Large windows and good lightning in the rooms. The pool area and the common areas are really nice too and have a minimalist nice design. There was always fresh water in the lobby fact that is a plus.

Breakfast could have more options. Service is often slow (common thing in Madeira, though), we had to wait for ages at the pool restaurant even if there were only a few people at the tables. There is a pillow menu in the room but you'll have to pay extra for most options. The pillows in the room were way to big to be comfortable for anyone.
