Terrible wifi. Very uncomfortable beds, bed-springs pressed against our backs. When the guests, in the room next to us took a shower, the water in our bathroom turned cold. The floor is very creaky and due to the thin walls you can hear everything. To get in the shower you had to step over the toilet. There were a few hangers for clothes in the room, but there was nowhere to pack our stuff in the bathroom, and no place for towels to dry. At ten o'clock in the morning they hammered something in the corridor for two days out of three we were there. Our view looked out onto a construction site where work had been going on since eight o'clock in the morning, quite loudly. The workers kept staring through the windows.

Great value and very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. I was able to leave my bag early and late. Great value in a local area but still close to everything. Good wifi and comfy bed.

The house is on a road and next to the main road so you have a lot of traffic nouse. Nights were calm though. Old house means squeaking wooden floors ;) But nothing to complain about the hospitality!

Staff very helpful and friendly,. Lovely white bed linen and towels. Breakfast good value at extra 5 euros with fresh fruit, fruit juice, yoghurt, cheese and ham, 2 rolls and coffee or tea.

Pillows not very comfortable as filled with foam chips. Necessary to advise older guests that lots of steep steps with no lifts so not suitable for some. Also mattresses quite hard so again not everyone's taste.

Staff was amazing and helpful! view from the window was awesome and rooms were cleaned everyday, highly recommended!

nothing, it is simple and lower quality but very cheap so its ok when you need just oversleep and dont stay at room too much

location was great and my room had a balcony with some nice views which I wasn't expecting. When staff were around they were friendly and I liked the fact that as I arrived late I could still get access to my room and check in the next morning.

There is a really bad musty smell that affected all my clothes and didn't help with my throat- it was more irritated. Also, I did appreciate having a private bathroom but the installation of it didn't feel perfect and added to the smell and humidty. At night there was still lights that I could see in the hallway and through the persiana which could affect people sleeping. I felt some information was left out by the staff that I felt could have been given when checking in

Cheapest option in Funchal. For that price everything is ok. Not bad location, clean place. But was very cold in the room. ( They have blankets)) Was staying in Funchal in 2 other places same week- cold inside was only here.

Nice place to stay, very handy for the centre of Funchal and buses all over the island. Room had all that was needed, and there was a kitchen for use of guests too. Room was cleaned daily.

It’s an old building so you can hear the plumbing running through the pipes at night, but this was not a major issue for me.

they sent the entrance code when i was on the plane. i did not have internet access. when i reached i waited in front of the door. another guest came, opened the door, called them, gave the keys and showed my room.

Amazing view, clean, cozy

This is a genuin establishment of Funchal with a long history. My room was of limited size but with a very comfortable bed and two windows with nice views. My mornings with breakfast at the terrace looking at sunrise was just unforgettable. Mama Rosa make you feel as a VIP guest. I did like to stay in a part of town with bars and restaurants visited mostly by local people. 3 minutes walk to airport bus.

Maybe AC to use for heating in the winter mornings.

Location!. IT WAS AN EASY DOWNHILL. WALK INTO TOWN. It was quiet at night.

The unit was in need of some upkeep. The bottom of the door was rotting. There was evidence of a past water leak above the bed. This gave a mustiness to the air quality.

The whole room was black mold. This can be harmful to health. The beds are very uncomfortable.

the staff is helpfull

my mattress of my bed in the first was quite painful cause I could feel the suspension. I got another room and in there it was better. also I had a very nice view in the second room.

I liked it all. Nice location (very close to the city center and specially to.SAM bus station and a big shopping center). Room with all you need and also silent. Very nice staff.

A very silly and minor thing (and just because I am being asked :)), that for sure depends on one's taste: the pillow could probably have been slightly more comfy

View from the balcony is good. Place is clean and tidy. Feels like a nice old school hotel experience.

It felt like the staff felt that me being there was a chore for them, they weren't unfriendly or unkind but there was a definite vibe of this is too much effort to be worth it.
