Property was exceptionally clean upon arrival. Pool area was great to have. Easy walk to a beautiful beach. Only caution: LOTS of steep stairs. We had a few elderly in the group who had some difficulty navigating, but they all had a great time regardless.

We loved the property and the support we received from the property management. Beach access was wonderful and the home is fairly well maintained. Overall the house is very nice. However, some small items like broken blinds, dresser drawer knobs that fall off and need replacement and excessive furniture wear /tear (upstairs desk chair cushion torn) were our only discrepancies. My only really negative comment comes regarding the back yard and gas grill. The back yard landscaping, patio area, and patio furniture need cleaning. The bottom of the gas grill is completely rusted out and only half of the burners work, making it very difficult to use. Overall, we had a great time and our family of 12 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s a great location and we plan on coming back.

Could use some updates, mattress in all rooms but 3rd floor master, pots and pans are 👎

We loved our stay here! There were only a few issues we could think of. - a lot of the mattresses were very uncomfortable. No one got great sleep all week. - most sheets didn’t stay on the beds after they were slept in. - kitchen could use a few more things like new pots, pans, etc.

The home is very large & accommodated our entire family nicely giving us plenty of room for being all together or getting away on your own. The best part was the private beach....the included umbrella & 2 loungers was a real plus & we paid for another set for the week. Was worried about the walk to the beach but it was closer than expected & so ez! On either size of us beach was sooo crowded I would have went crazy...don't know how they kept our area so private...but they did!! Gated community, private pool & correspondence with John helped make this an outstanding trip!!

The Katrina House has become our home away from home. It is the perfect set up for our group of children, young adults, and ‘mature’ folks!

This property was very nice but could use some updating at the property. We had 8 adults stay and we had plenty of room and space to spread out. The location was fantastic with private beach access. The owner was very responsive to any issues that we had and took care of things right away. I would recommend and would stay again.

After having our flights canceled due to maintenance on a plane & no option for a reschedule, we opted to drive 22 hours to get to the house. The house was great and had plenty of room and everything about it made our drive worth it. I brought my kids and their families. We had groceries delivered, and ate many meals right there as a family! The area is clean with great beach access!! And the activities at the boardwalk gave everyone plenty to do! They went parasailing and jet skiing. There are great bars and restaurants and plenty of shopping in the area! It was great! We’ll be back!!

This was our second year staying at this property! Highly recommend, beautiful home, close to the beach and great communication with owner!

Had a wonderful time staying at this house, the beach was super close and made for an easy walk with the grandkids. We had 12 family members in the group and there was plenty of space in the house to spread out and have quite time when you wanted it. The house had all the amenities that we were looking for and certainly met our expectations. The pool was great for the little ones and everyone enjoyed it more than we thought we would. I would definitely rent this house again and would recommend it for any large family.

We had a fantastic family vacation! Loved it and definitely hope to go again and hopefully stay in this same house.

This is the perfect vacation home for our group. Large open concept main space to accommodate us all for meals and games, and lots of balconies to avoid feeling like we’re on top of each other. Very nicely appointed and the location can’t be beat. Will be back next year!

Thank you for a wonderful time! We communicated with John frequently, as the house had a small amount of wind damage occur during a storm during our stay. John responded quickly and made sure that repairs would not interfere with our plans. If schedules work out next year, we will be back!

The house is very spacious with separate living areas for children to gather. We had two families with 6 kids and had a very nice time. The house had been rented to college spring breakers before us and it showed with cigarette butts and clothing found in furniture. However, the reserved chairs on the private beach was a nice amenity to counterbalance the relative uncleanliness of the home and the owner/manager was always quick to respond and communicate. The prior group had ripped a railing off a stairwell and this was repaired a few days later which is good but also inconvenient to have a repair person coming by during your vacation. There are some nice extras: sand toys, outdoor shower and extra refrigerator. On the downside: the downstairs shower does not get hot water and the TV in the master only gets a fuzzy picture. No access to heated pool or hot tub which is a consideration in March. Overall a 7.5 out of 10.

The property was large, clean, had wonderful accommodations, was in a great community, and the location in Destin could not be any better. The property manager typically answered my questions within minutes. If we take another large group to Destin, we will be staying here again for sure.

John was very good at communication at the beginning and all the way through our stay. He was always a phone call away and made our stay a HUGE success! We will definitely be back!

Overall we had a great time. The communication with the property manager was excellent. Very quick with his responses. Location and walk to the beach was good. The house could have been a little cleaner and there we couldn’t find any kitchen towels. So, you may want to take your own.

Our family has booked this home for a reunion for the last 10 years - it meets our needs perfectly, and has almost come to feel like our own home. Very comfortable!

This is the third time we have rented this house. Between the quality of the house and the amazing beach you have access to, this is a hard place to beat. The house is very spacious and is well stocked with everything you need. If you want to relax and spend time on the beach this is the place to go.

The property manager is the definition of Customer Service. Every goofy question I asked was answered immediately, no matter what time of day. The property was perfectly clean..and I say that as a former sales manager of a large commercial cleaning company. The house was beautifully furnished & had everything we could ever need to have a relaxing and fun vacation. Destin is the best destination area in our last 5 visits in Florida. Thank you John for all you do!

So four senior couples from north Mississippi decided to spend a week in mid-January 2020 in Destin. We were all very familiar with Destin having spent many summer vacations in the 70's through early 90''s there on summer vacations. Once our children were grown, however, we stopped those trips in part because of the crowds flocking there in the summer. The eight of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this 6 bedroom 3 level house known as Katrina. The pictures and written information provided adequately describe the property. It is in a gated community and perfectly secure. The property is centrally located in Destin and within a short walk to the beach. Property Manager John Glick and local representative Linda were always a text or email away. They never failed to respond to our questions. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the home upon arrival and had no issues in this regard. The house has a gas log fireplace which was put to good use during our stay as the weather initially was cool. With two enclosed garages and two driveways there was sufficient space for our four vehicles. The neighborhood was quiet even though somewhat busy with remodeling underway on our street. We all remembered the crowded conditions in Destin in those many summers we visited years ago. This trip was quite different. Even though there was still traffic it was manageable and we rarely had to wait over a few minutes at restaurants regardless of the time of day. We all enjoyed a visit to the Destin Fishing and History Museum on this trip. If you haven't been, it is worth seeing. We played golf twice and again the time of year made tee times much easier to obtain. Overall, we decided that the trip was well worth our while and we hope to return next winter. We recommend giving this property a try.

Wonderful experience. The house was clean and Spacious. Very well stocked with dishes, towels and bedding. The pool was great for the kids in the evening. The extra refrigerator made a world of difference with our large group. Great location, close to everything. No complaints at all. Would definitely recommend.

Overall- great experience and house was excellent. We are very particular, I will start with the pros: - the house is gorgeous inside and out. Also- the house was very clean. Most pet friendly houses that we have previously rented are not as clean. -location is spot on; we spend so much time on the beach and it's such an easy walk and the beach is private as well as very wide. (nice touch having 2 chairs that come with the house) - Safe, it's in a gated community, very quiet; we have teens that we felt very comfortable letting them come and go on their own - Huge- the house is gigantic; we only had 7 people and did not even use the bottom floor. - the kitchen is well equipped with everything that you will need. - Living room is spacious and has plenty of comfortable seating for everyone Cons: - our biggest complaint was the blinds in the bedrooms; one particular bedroom the shades are half broken and a ton of light goes through the window (it's hard to sleep in). Even in the other bedrooms, so much light. This nice of a house needs room darkening shades - A few general maintenance needs to be done- the rails going go to the house need to be tightened and a lot of light bulbs are burned out. -We didn't use the pool, but walked out to the pool area and it was a mess with beer cans everywhere. Pool was a mess- but we didn't use or let the management know ahead of them that we wanted to use the pool- so we can't really complain about this. Cleaning crew does need to clean up the pool area before new guest arrive This is not a con for us, because we are always competing with each other on who in the family gets the most steps- but be aware of the steps to get into the house. Lots and lots of steps- but that means more activity level. Overall- this was an excellent house and we would recommend this house. Thank you for sharing your georgrous house with our family!

The house was great! The pictures don’t do it justice. Very short walk to the beach. Only thing we would have liked to see would be to have the pool heated. The owner was very responsive. What I loved most about it is it’s segmented enough where multiple families can stay together and have a great time but still have privacy and escape to their own section of the house when needing a break. We will definitely be staying here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in "Katrina" it was a beautiful home with all the amenities that you could possibly want! Plenty of room for all our kids and the neighborhood was beautiful!

We had a great time. The house is 3 story and we were on the top floor. Definitely got forced exercise..Lol. but overall John was very nice and addressed any concerns. If I had to suggest one thing it would be putting additional towels in the house. I know towels come and go but it made it a small challenge to seek out additional towels. But overall it is a great place to vacation and I would definitely come again.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property! The beach entry is just down the street. Great area in which to walk your dog; also conveniently located to restaurants etc.
