Endroit atypique et majestueux. La décoration de la chambre avec terrasse est raffinée .Le parc est romantique. Le personnel charmant. Nous avons prolongé notre séjour pour profiter de cet havre de paix.

The Quinta do Barrieiro is a special place: the domain on which it is located is large, with its own water sources, a pond, a beautiful pool and of course the sculpture garden. The domain provides great spots to watch the surrounding area (Marvoa, the pico da Soa Mamede) and the night sky: during clear nights without moonlight, you'll see the milky way as you haven't seen it before. The swimming pool area is superb: beautiful views over the area, a lot of chairs, shade from tress and beach umbrella's... Perfect holiday spot. The location is great, with Marvao +/-20 minutes away by car, the top of the Sao Mameda +/-15 minutes, and other nice towns in the same range. The quinta provides ample parking space (but the access to the parking is slightly challenging).

Breakfast is brought to each room/holiday home on the domain. That gives everyone a lot of freedom to eat whenever they want, but you don't encounter the other guests or owners that easily. As a result, you never have an overview of how many guests stay in the domain.

The studio Very nice and spacious studio with a great bed, sort of a small living room area, clean bathroom and a little terrace just in front. Good towels also. View from the studio and terrace overlooks the mountains on the other side of the valley and from the terrace you’re perfectly situated to watch either the sun- and/or moonrise (or both if the timing’s right). The property and the people Much larger than anticipated actually - in a good way - with a couple of specially designated areas. A hillside art walk, a pool with awesome views and nice sunbeds, and a little oasis-like part with more sculptures, chairs and hammocks. Annddd a dog and a cat. Very friendly, welcoming and attentive staff also. The area Beautiful scenery and nature, very calm (as in there’s not many people) Portalegre is only 20 min or so by car as is Marvao so there’s plenty to do and explore in the area.
