I was overcharged by the owner on my credit card by 170 $ CAD over the advertised rate(he took 2 credit card payments one after booking to secure booking and one on the date of arrival. total amount was 170 CAD$ more then total on booking.com confirmation) it took many texts back and forth and a couple of days for him to agree to fix that and refund the difference . ( PS . I needed the help of booking.com customers service , they were very helpful after reviewing our texts and conversation on the Application and credit card statements. and mentioned if the owner doesn’t refund me in 5 days they will ) initially he was argumentative about it but finally apologized the last day after issuing the refund. I stayed total 5 nights. ****Also to note: No hot water in the apartment.(not equipped with water heater ) the owner response was that because it is on 41 st floor he thought the water will be warm enough by the sun for shower . taking a shower was still uncomfortable to my taste . it is a small suggestion for a fix and improvement to add a water heater for hot water I still gave good rating to facility and cleanliness as the apartment was nice and I want to fair and unbiased .

The apartment is fabulous, it is spacious and clean, well equipped, literally right next to the beach, 10 minutes to the historic city centre, and the view is stunning. Best place I've seen in a long time.

The price is misleading. I saw a price of $ 148 plus $ 55 for taxes and charges, but then I had to pay an extra $ 50 for cleaning and city tax, which is a whopping 30% overcharge. Not ok.

The view is awesome and the appartment is nice. The location is also very good (for Bocagrande). Taxi's to the city are very easy to get, supermarkets and restaurants are in the vicinity.

The shower only gets lukewarm and there is an open roster (in a window location in the kitchen) so the noise from the streets outside enters the living room. The bedrooms are separate rooms and you don't hear the street noise there. It is the design of this tower, all the apartments seem to have that if you look from the outside. So you won't enjoy total quiet in the living room, but is is acceptable if you know it in advance. A manual for the washing machine, how the gym works (make a reservation), and where to throw away the thrash would have been helpful, but the host is very helpful and answers quickly.

Secure, clean, good stuffed kitchen, great air-condition, fast internet.

Bocagrande beach and ocean are very dirty. Especially after rain, when city trash goes into the ocean. Swimming there could be dangerous for health. Does not make any sense to stay near the beach. Front desk personal is friendly, but does not speak English and could not provide useful information. We needed to find English speaking person outside on the street. Apartment was big and clean. It has multiple beds but all of them are very hard and uncomfortable. Like sleeping on the floor. Poorly equipped gym. Absolutely impossible to extend check out time and no space to keep luggage. If you have later flight you will be stack in the lobby with all your staff. I suggest to stay in hotel near downtown and port to avoid these problems.

How could you describe a property where the owner don’t pay the electric bill and while you are in the unit everything goes dark? For two days without electricity where your groceries in the refrigerator are going bad ? What about you want to prepare a dinner with your wife and there is no stove ? Not even a flashlight or candles ? The worst was the answers given by the owner , that “ his lawyer was working with it “ with a claim to the electric company . That the technician will be there at 10 am and never came . He moved me to another apartment with only a bed . While I have to send my wife to a hair salon to do her hair because she cannot dry her hair . And to make it unprecedented having groceries to cook we had to go to out for dinner and came back to the dark apartment . We moved back and forward from the 41st floor to the 15th floor with our higiene items like we were in a hostel . The most abusing and respective actitud was that of offering us a refund for a night stay which we are not interested . The incompressible situation created by the irresponsibility of renting a property where the owner oversight the payment of the services is much to say . Look I my Booking and AirBnb lodging I traveled all over the world and this has been the most horrible travel experience that I have in years . In summary , renters and readers of you are interested in renting this property make sure you bring flashlight, candles and a lot of water because you may goes for the experience of your life ! Ah, and don’t call the owner he is a “ talker” and don’t listen he just talk .. and justify his irresponsible actions . Good luck!

Breathtaking view of Cartagena. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants a more authentic experience of Cartagena. Since you’re staying in Bocagrande you’re not in the heart of the tourist area which is nice. You can wake up in the morning take a dip in the pool or beach then change and head into the city. It’s a quick 10 minute cab ride. The apartment is very clean and spacious. The cool breeze that comes through balcony is so refreshing. Will book again when I come back to Cartagena.
