We needed a place to stay a day before embarking on our cruise. Genoa is known for being the place that created pesto so we definately wanted to venture out for that. I must say that it's been 2 weeks and my husband and I are still talking about our short encounter with our host, Valentina. She was pretty awesome :) and easy going. Staying at a property that is clean, in a great location, and visually aesthetic are enough, but having a host who makes your welcome a great experience takes the cake. Even though we were only staying one night, she still took the time to answer all of our questions, recommended a few places to eat nearby, and took care of our needs. My 7 year old was upset and Valentina somehow ended up putting a smile on her face. She felt like an old friend, even though we'd just met. She also offers food tours, which I would definately go back to Genoa just to experience that with her. Okay - so enough on the host crush! Property was perfect for our family of 3. There is an upstairs with a single bed, downstairs with a large bed. The way the bedrooms are set up, my daughter was able to safely look down and see us while sleeping and had her own area to play in. Plenty of shops, quick food stops, great coffee, and restaurants steps away. Would definately stay here again.

This apartment was within walking distance of what we wanted to see. It is close to the waterfront and to the historical parts of Genoa. It was clean, comfortable and the manager was very easy to reach and to work with.

Valentina’s place was very nice. It’s big and has high ceilings and big windows which open. She was also very helpful. When you arrive she already has a lot of suggestions for places to go in the area and how to travel to certain cities in Liguria. Also, she had suggestions for local restaurants which were very good. I would highly recommend staying in this place.

What a joy it has been staying at Niu home in Genoa. Valentina, the owner, made sure all our questions were answered even before booking our stay. We had some hesitation booking since there were no reviews written. But once we arrived to the apartment, all our doubts were gone! This beautifully renovated apartment is located in the heart of Old Genoa, within walking distance to numerous restaurants, shops, and sites. The streets of old town can be very confusing but valentina graciously provided her our tour map of recommended sites with historical tidbits, restaurants, and much more. I could write a review on this map alone, as it was really easy to read and recommendations were great! But I’ll spare those details and let you find out on your own. The recommended restaurants had closed early the day we were trying to visit, however, Valentina was so caring and quick to respond with some other recommendations that were opened. She went above and beyond our expectations. Since this apartment is newly renovated, everything is upgraded and brand new! The floor to ceiling windows open up to the busy alleyways, but once they are closed, no sound can be heard from outside. The air conditioning units (there are 2), washer, refrigergerator/freezer, television, microwave are also all new. Valentina made sure we were welcomed with delicious coffee, lugirian cookies, water. Everything was extremely clean and I would highly recommend this property to anyone.
