Good food, usual Campanile quality

The room size at this hotel compared very favourably with that of local hotels at a similar price and it was easy to get into the centre of town from this location.

The bed was a very good size, we wanted a king or super king and this seemed to be a super king, we are both big disabled people and did not want to have a little bed where we could not get a goods night sleep in. It was very clean and comfortable, in fact the whole room & bathroom were clean. After 15 minutes one of the staff knocked at our door to check if we were happy with the room, which we were.

We felt that the room needed to be updated, it was looking tired, but with some modern wall paper and white paint with lights in the ceiling it would update it so much. We misjudged out times as we were heading to Calais and had to leave at 4am, so we could not comment on the breakfast we paid for which was unfortunate but our fault.

The food was good.

The price, we booked with booking.com and should have paid €69 and paid over €100. When I queried this they said that that was just a booking.com fee and wee had to pay the rest. I will take this up with booking.com. The room smelt of cigarettes. And in general felt the staff were not as helpful as they could have been.

Great service from breakfast team who laid down breakfast for us at 6 exceptionally accommodate our early departure time.
