Place is really quiet in the middle of rice pills, what a charm !
Sardul and his family will make everything to ensure you have the best experience, from his father going into surroundings walks with you to him giving numerous advices.
Rooms equipped with AC, super important given the heat
Safari was as well charming and dynamic all the day, accompanied by meaningful comments from sardul on the wildlife !
All was perfect for our stay

This was one of our favourite stays in Nepal! The rooms are amazing, by far the comfiest beds in my whole time travelling. Home-cooked and delicious meals, but the best part was how kind and accommodating Shardul and his family were to us, they really are amazing people! We were very sad to say goodbye
Absolutely nothing!

Overall the location & the stay were good. What made it exceptional was the family which took care of the guests. They made sure that everyone was comfortable & also helped us with local currency which was a great help. We liked the breakfast especially the pancakes made by Suchitra. We enjoyed the jungle safari for a full day, Shardul was good with jungle routes & animal spotting skills, our bad luck we didn't see a tiger. We will go back for it again in March or April.

Where can we start this review from?
Let's start by saying this was without doubt the best place we stayed in Nepal during our 1 ¹/² month stay!
During our 10 days here we enjoyed everything from the comfort of the bed to the cleanliness of the room and other amenities.
Food was always delicious and fresh made with local ingredients mainly from their garden.
The homestay is surrounded by cultivated fields in such a quiet and peaceful environment that we slept very well every night.
Safaris both jeep and walk were great and we were lucky to see a tiger twice and rhinos plus other species.
Bardia NP is really a special place even tho the proximity to the village disturbs the overall feeling as you always hear some noise/music from the nearby villages.
A great thanks to Shardul and all the family + Shiva!

This Homestay is so special, one of the most serene places I have ever been- I will never forget the beauty of the morning light and how Shardul, his family and the team go out of their way to make sure it's the most special experience for all the guests to through the big things and little things- his father took us around the area on a village tour, they prepared us a delicious dinner to take for our stay in the treehouse, they work really hard in the jungle to find the animals, they gave me a packed lunch to take on my plane ride
The food is so flavourful, healthy and delicious, all grown in their garden. After trekking, I really felt the food at the Homestay brought me back to health. I also really enjoyed the breakfasts by the campfire in the morning
This place is in a peaceful location a couple mins by Jeep from the park, making it feel like an oasis. The garden is full of flowers, they have a dog and there's a little owl that comes by
The beds were the most comfortable I've had in Nepal and everything is very clean
Staying here will give you the most beautiful, comfortable, authentic Bardia experience

Wow where to start…
I could write an entire article about our stay at Bardiya Eco Friendly Homestay, and about our trip in Bardiya in General.
First of all, Shardul, our host, makes sure everything is ok even before you arrive (bus, tuk-tuk) and for your departure. Him and his family are very welcomed and beautiful people that will make you comfortable.
The room are very comfortable and clean, and will make you forget every others homestay you might have been. The food is organic, from the garden, and changes every day for a very reasonable price.
They can also organize some Walk or Jeep Safari tour at your convenience and depending of the number of others guests. Those guys are the best guides in town and they won’t stop before making you happy.
We had the chance to meet some amazing guests while we were there for 5 days, which make the experience even more enjoyable, and I am sure most of the guests that come are just in the same kind of spirit.
Overall, I can assure you that you will wanna stay for more nights than originally planned. I would say that the experience was the best we had in our 2 months in Nepal.
I really recommend you to book your stay there, meet the family and the guests, go on several safaris, and discover the village and its people.
Enjoy the ride :)

Our stay at Shardul's home was simply incredible. From the confortable and clean room to the jungle safari, everything was perfect. Shardul's family is careful and welcoming, the food was amazing and the surroundings is quiet, beautiful and si peaceful. Moreover, Chelsea, the family's dog is soo kind. We went on a jeep and walk safari with Shardul and loved both of them. We were lucky to see a tiger, many elephants and amazing birds. We stayed one night in the community shared tree house, another amazing experience. We would love to have a new opportunity to get back there.

Accueil incroyable de la famille de shardul, chambres très propres et confortable, famille toujours au petit soins, et prête à vous faire une visite privée du village.
Nourriture excellente.
Shardul est guide de safari, pour organiser vos excursions jeeps et randonnée.

Bardia Eco-Friendly Homestay is travelers‘ paradise.
If you want to you could spend days and weeks here not thinking about anything but how beautiful the nature is surrounding you.
Shardul and his family go above & beyond to make your time here memorable in every way possible.
I really didn’t have to think about anything because they took care of everything from delicious meals, clean & comfy rooms with a top notch view, to trips to the village and of course the jungle and even how to get and travel from there to other places in Nepal. I felt truly relaxed after just being here for a couple of hours and very recharge when I had to leave.
If you’re in luck like me you’ll on top meet likeminded travelers since Shardul’s family rents out four rooms & offers lots of places & opportunities to connect with the other guests (if you want to).
Thanks again for the wonderful time! I would come back in a heartbeat to reconnect, relax & recharge.

This homestay is a precious place with very special people. Shardul is always busy with a smile, arranges everything you need and takes you around the national park. The parents - also with a big smile - show you around town, cater for food and everything else you need. The atmosphere is truly peaceful, in between the rice fields and the little patio that the 3 houses create. It's also a really good place to connect not only with village lifestyle in rural Nepal, but also with other travelers, since you spend time together, go on safari and have food jointly.
I highly recommend this homestay!

Our 4-day stay at the ecofriendly homestay in Bardiya, Nepal, was unforgettable. Five of us had an amazing cultural tour, enjoyed exceptional hospitality, savored delicious food, and went on thrilling jeep and walking safaris. The super-friendly family made it the perfect start to our Nepal adventure. Highly recommended!

I loved the super hospitable family, Shardul made me feel home, his father is so calm and always ready to talk about their culture and old times, his little brother and sister are amazing to hang out with by the bonfire. I was really touched by their hospitality and left with a promise to return again.

The family was so warm and welcoming! We had amazing food, everyone in the family cooks great food! The rooms were so tidy and clean, and they have hot water & the best part was when we went in the jungle we were so lucky to see a tiger. I really loved the outside space, you are surrounded by nature and a beautiful garden with lots of flowers and colors. I would really recommend that place if you are looking for a calm and quiet place, that is the place you need!

Two and a half months in Nepal and this is the best place I have stayed! 👏
Where to start…everything here is top quality at an affordable price. From the tours, to the food, the accommodation and the location!
Accommodation: Extremely modern and clean. The beds are large with an extra thick comfy mattress 👌
Spacious bathroom with great shower. The rooms are light and airy with mosquito nets on the windows so it’s never to hot at night.
Also their wifi is very fast so I imagine this would be a great place to work remotely and base yourself.
Food: Fresh ingredients from the garden, all prepared with great flavour! Always something different everyone here agrees it’s probably the best food of their time in Nepal 👌
Tours: Shardul who will not only be your host but will also be your guide in the park if you wish. He is extremely hardworking and really cares about his guests having the best experience possible. I can guarantee he will do everything he can to help you find the tiger and much more. And yes we saw the tiger, in fact we saw two! Even if you didn’t stay here (as I imagine it will soon be fully booked all the time) I would recommend spending a day in the jungle with him. Even after seeing the two tigers Shardul continued to search for other animals and never lacked determination or enthusiasm. We did all our jungle treks with him and each time we were in the park for around 11/12 hours so you really get a full day with the best chance to see the wildlife. 🐅
Location: The homestay is such a relaxing place that if your not in the jungle you will want to be here. There is a friendly dog (Chelsea). Plenty of places to sit and relax. Flowers and a beautiful garden. You are surrounded on all sides by fields and can just be at peace. Sunrise and sunset are both epic but the view for sunrise is amazing 😁
Like the other reviewers I ended up extending my stay.

I would like to highly recommend Bardia Eco Friendly Home Stay to anyone who wants to experience the beauty of Bardia National Park in Nepal while staying in a family-friendly, eco-conscious environment.
The guided trips provided by the home stay to Bardia National Park are truly exceptional. The experienced guides are knowledgeable and passionate about wildlife and conservation, and their expert guidance helps visitors spot elusive creatures like tigers, elephants, and rhinos. The home stay offers a variety of trip options, from day-long excursions to jeep safari days, each providing a unique and unforgettable experience in the park.
However, what truly sets Bardia Eco Friendly Home Stay apart is its family-friendly environment and the genuine care and hospitality of the owners and their family. The owners are warm and welcoming, and they go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. Their commitment to eco-friendly practices is evident throughout the home stay, locally sourced and organic food, and a focus on sustainable living.
The home stay is also designed with places to relax in mind, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy reading a book or just hanging with friends. The owners and their family are always happy to interact with guests, will love learning to talks and teach about the local culture and wildlife.
Overall, I highly recommend Bardia Eco Friendly Home Stay for families or anyone looking for an eco-conscious, family-friendly experience in Bardia National Park. The expertly guided trips, stunning wildlife sightings, and caring and welcoming atmosphere make this home stay a truly unforgettable experience.

A fantastic wonderful homestay. Shardul and his family are so welcoming, we really felt at home. The food is phenomenal, some of the tastiest food I've eaten in Nepal. Our safaris were incredible, Shardul is a talented enthusiastic guide who is incredibly committed to ensuring his guests see the animals while remaining safe. The area around the homestay is beautiful. Would thoroughly recommend.

You are surrounded by beautiful flowers, fruittrees and plants. The place is very relaxing and you really don’t want to leave! Shardul was our Safari guide and hè was great, very motivated and determined to show us à tiger, and we did see it, twice!!

When travelling from place to place, often any Guest House end up being a place to drop your bag and crash at night. Here i found à home, litterally. They opened the door of their House to me and asked me to feel like it was my own. I had to care for nothing and did felt at peace there. Bashu showed me their village and the ways of bardia. Sarvati made us food every day that honestly exceeded any nepali dishes i ever ate in a restaurant. And Shardul was more à friend with whom i played at tracking the tiger every day than à guide.
My friend who told me about this place stayed there 3 weeks, i stayed 1 week, i would have stayed, period. I came through recommendation, i leave recommending.
Thank you for everything.

This homestay is a rare jam!
Best place, best food and best family. I recommend it to everyone! The setting is so peaceful, nights are quiet, food is exceptional and the family is wonderful. Shardul (the son) arranged a pick up at 3:30 in the morning when i arrived by bus and the homestay is close to the park entrance, so easy to get there. I also organise the walking safari with them e Shardul was my guide: we saw a tiger, rhinos, elephants and also a bear! a very unique moment.. if you don’t believe me ask to the others guides about Bella who saw the bear.. I’m not joking!
in the evening the mom let me help for dinner… Cooking classes, what a bonus!
When I had to leave the homestay I cried, they will always be my family in Nepal!

Very cozy homestay! I would love to spend here more than 1 night. Next time we will come for at leats 3 days. The owner helped us to fix e-visa documents, he is very nice and friendly. I recommend it.
The price for the night is good, but everything else is expensive here. Food, drinks, services, tours - expensive. They are really making a business out of it. Be prepared.

The property is clean and comfortable. The beat thing about this place is that it is family owned and operated. They look after their guests like one of their own family members. The food is home-cooked and very tasty.
There was nothing I disliked at all. This was my second stay at this place, and I will continue to come and visit.

The food was delicious, Sarita's cooking is the best. The host family was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. They were extremely kind and helpful and bent over backwards to make my stay perfect. Shardul the son is also a bardia guide, a very good one

I could not have been happier with my time at Bardia Eco Friendly Homestay. Shardul was an absolute master - from initial communication after my booking, to helping me arrange transport to reach the place (and managing my anxiety regarding the buses etc). He organised some great guides to take me into the park each day and even came with us to join for sightings of rhinos and tigers! The place is lovely - comfortable beds, hot showers, beautiful garden and space to sit and eat and relax. The family are lovely - nothing is too much trouble, kept the place clean and prepared delicious home-cooked meals through out my stay. I will be back for sure!!
The only thing I didn't like was having to leave!!

Location was very good. Food was amazing. We wanted to see tigers and that's why we came all the way from Belgium to bardia. Did 2 days Jeep Safari with Shardul. The first day we see a big tiger hunting deer just in front of our jeep, wich was amazing. We were told this was a super rare moment, even our guides haven't seen tigers hunting. So we were very lucky. For the rest of the day we saw monkeys, deer and a group of elephants. The second day we want to see the Ganges dolphins and looked again for tigers, unfortunately we didn't find them. Overral amazing experience.

The family and staff were all so welcoming and helpful! Shardul arranged our walking treks in Bardia with excellent guides, especially Santus.
We loved the food, both the quality and quantity.
Walking through the village was like stepping back in time, watching farmers plow the fields with animals and crops harvested by hand. The homestay is surrounded by fields and very peaceful.
Shardul took excellent care of us from the moment we stepped off the bus to the end of our stay when Shardul accompanied us back to the bus at 9pm, and talked to the bus driver to make sure he took us to the right place. We originally booked for 5 nights but ended up staying for 9 and were sad to leave.
Leaving!

We had a great stay at Bardia Eco-friendly Homestay. We lived 5 days in the heart of Tharu village in a beautiful setting. The Homestay is environmentally friendly and uses local products. We felt at home. The hosts were awesome. They organized our arrival, our stay and even our departure, it is a very good point because it is not easy to access the village but it makes all its charm. We did two days walking in the jungle with a great guide
and we had the chance to see lots of birds, monkeys, deer, several elephants and even a TIGER. We also visited the beautiful village by bike that our hosts lent us. And finally we spent a wonderful night in a tree house in the middle of the jungle where we could see and hear several animals and in the early morning we saw the tracks of a tiger...

Best stay of my trip so far!
The family work really hard to make you feel like home, and you do. You come as a guest and leave as a member of the family. Everything is perfect there, the room is nice and big, large and comfortable bed, big bathroom with hot shower, the homestay is in a little village which is so quiet and peaceful. It's surrounded by only fields. They have a nice garden where you can stay and read, have some rest, relax. Nice camp fire in the evening.
The dad, Basu, is an environment teacher in the public school nearby, he also volunteers in many organizations to help protect the nature, the wild life, he helps people and do a very important social work.
Sarita, the mom, is always smiling, laughing, makes sure that you feel good and her kitchen is reeeally good! They provide breakfast, lunch and dinner and everyday the food is different and delicious. Jyoti works for the family, she is so lovely, she would help with anything, always smiling and makes sure you're OK. We spent a lot of time with the son, Shardul, he's such a really nice and funny guy. He would arrange everything you need, helps you with your travel plans, bus, tuktuk, tells you about his country's traditions, culture. We spent 3 amazing days in the jungle with him and parkase, another guide, they work really hard to make sure you will see the wild life. We saw many animals, Rino, crocodile, éléphants, tiger and even the girl I was with saw a bear which is so rare. We had a lot of good talks with him and shared memorable moments. The family owns also a tree house in the jungle, where you can spend the night. It is an amazing place near the village. The must of the must for me, was the trek they arranged in the Bardia National Park hills nearby. It is not a well known trek in Nepal because everyone goes to the highest mountains but it really was the best experience ever for me. We walked 4 days and stayed in the hills 3 nights.

I absolutely loved everything at this homestay.
You will get a true insight of what the culture and way of life is staying around this amazing nepali family. Sarita's food is truly something and it all comes from the their garden since Basu is doing an amazing work around the property.
The house is in the middle of wheat and mustard fields, it is so relaxing to walk around in this atmosphere.
Shardul will help you figure out whatever problem you have, his kindness is on another level.
Not to mention the wonderful experience you will have in the jungle with him. Walking safari is about patience and luck but it's definitely worth it.

This was actually our second stay at the homestay, we came back because the family were so welcoming and nice. Very beautiful area surrounding by fairly remote villages, you can get a real feel for rural Nepali life. The homestay itself has a very beautiful garden and is super peaceful. They were actually doing some work during our last stay to add some rooms and improve the garden, so it should be even better in the future. Our room was big, spotless, and had a hot shower attached. The food was simple and healthy and they made sure you were full! They offer jungle/safari trips into the national park too which I'd highly recommend.

Bashu, Sarita, Sardul and Jioti are very nice people. Kind and friendly! This is a very great place to stay and enjoy Bardia. The food is delicious, the room clean and confortable. I felt like home and very welcomed with them. They are beautiful and happy people :))

Very friendly family. We felt very at home with them. They helped us get to their house from Pokhara and back. The food was excellent and the house very cosy and clean. We enjoyed a lot our evenings around the campfire. The son of the family is an excellent tour guide to discover the jungle. I recommend him.
There could have been some more variety in the breakfast and dinners.
