The snooker room had a tv in. The table tennis room had bat and balls. we did not use the tennis court because the net was too low. There are dozens of board games for kids. There are hundreds of books on shelves.

Since leaving my review below in June, the owner has contacted me to say they have changed the cleaning service, they have replaced a mattress, cleaned the oven and would remove the outdated food. I cannot vouch either way for this statement, but feel I should pass on the owners good intentions to future visitors. Please add your own review after staying at the cottage to update potential future guests. I hope the changes are sincere and that all future guests have a happy stay in the peaceful setting. June 2024: The mattresses on three beds were so bad we couldn't sleep. The mattress in the yellow room has been reported to the owner 3 times in previous guest visits, but they did not change it. The kitchen was full of out dated food from other guests dating back to 2020. The oven was so dirty we couldn't use it. The sofa's were saggy like they had been there over 20 yrs. The tv in the lounge is very small and hidden next to the sofa so you can't really see it when you sit down. The "unmade" road leading up to the house requires a 4x4 as minimum. Our saloon car bottomed out so many times it damaged the bumper. This was also mentioned to the owner previously. It is not just pot holes, it is like driving over very large speed bumps rolling off to the side into sink holes. It is like this for 1/4 mile up to the house.

Absolutely amazing, my children loved playing the games and searching the woods. Every think we needed was their was amazing, thank you so much. X

we stayed here 5 years ago and very little maintenance has been done since so the house is looking a little tired now. A few niggles with dripping tap, cooker knobs, leaking shower and also the beds are a little uncomfortable

The facilities were fantastic. There was lots of books and games for the little ones. They could also play table tennis and football and explore the woods. The adults were also very happy playing snooker, tennis in the snow, having lovely walks in the woods and relaxing in the sauna. The house is also beautiful and a bit like a magical mystery tour with lots of exciting nooks and crannies. The perfect place for a cosy weekend, with a roaring fire and comfy sofas.
