A close friend group of 10 (mid-60s) needed a place to stay for a weekend of hiking (snowshoeing cancelled due to warm weather) through wine country. We needed a clean place that provided a room for each couple, kitchen and dining area that could accommodate the whole group, and casual area in which we could all sit. We also wanted to be able to walk to restaurants and shops. This home had it all. Very clean with comfortable bedrooms, kitchen, eating area, and casual area handled an in-house dinner, breakfasts, and great card games with all 10 around the kitchen table. The three bathrooms were clean, great showers, and plenty of hot water and water pressure. While the home is not “spacious” it is very comfortable and fully met our needs. The owner, Melissa, answered questions before our stay and provided great recommendations for eating, hiking, and enjoyment around the peninsula. Our Friday evening started with a great meal at Riverside Inn (walkable) in Leland in a dining area that accommodated all ten of us that set the perfect mood for the weekend. If we return to Leelenau Peninsula this home will be on our list for rentals.

Nice weekend, a little rainy and cool but enjoyed are stay. Cottage was very nice.

The house was very nice. Communication with the lister was excellant, when I emailed Melissa, she usually replied within 8 hours. We were a group of Senior ladies and very much enjoyed our stay. We did encounter a few issues related to our age, but nothing insurmountable. The property is not listed as being ADA compliant, but there is a ramp in the garage and a walk in shower which were appreciated. We would stay again.

Beautiful location close to many wineries. Did a wine weekend with 3 couples so really great having three bathrooms. There were two additional bedrooms with twin beds which would be great for a large family gathering

This is based on having rented VRBO properties through out the US in excess of 50 times. Everything was fine except for 2 concerns. We felt the photos portrayed in the posting did not accurately reflect reality in layout size and external scene. Also, and this is no reflection on you ,but the bathroom facilities on the main floor were not senior citizen friendly. Our fault for getting old.

Home is located about 1/2 mile from Leland and you can walk there from the side road that runs along Lake Michigan. Centrally located near hiking, wineries, sleeping Bear dunes and the cute towns of Glen Arbor and Leland. We had 3 couples in the home and each had their own room and bath and plenty of space.

This location in Leland has it all! It’s walking distance from Fishtown and North Beach. Flexible floor plan makes it great for families—children to seniors.

Loved the area and proximity to everything. Plenty of space to spread out. Enjoyed the front porch and walks to the beach. Thanks for the great family memories created.

We all loved our stay! The cottage was terrific - everything was just as described in the listing. Location was great. Communication with Melissa was perfect (I had a couple questions during the week and she responded to emails within minutes!) and her suggestions of sights to see were greatly appreciated. We couldn't have been happier!

House was ready for our timely arrival - so delighted to claim our cozy beds, and clean home for the week. We enjoyed the short walk to Fishtown numerous times & to North Beach. Location is easy ride to hikes with gorgeous views & quiet forests. One suggestion for kitchen….need a cherry pitter! We would happily return here for more adventures.

A beautiful home in the most perfect location. Easy to walk to town. Plenty of room for our family to stay. Quiet house. Loved the front porch and the screened in porch for some quiet reading time. We will plan to stay again!

Great location, very clean and organized. We visited for the wine festival and had 8 people in total, all agreed this was a perfect location to stay which was just outside of Leland. The bedrooms we’re comfortable, house was well appointed and we enjoyed the porch to sit and talk about life. Thanks Melissa for making it so easy, we will visit again.

Really nice host, really nice cooking pans and knives, comfortable furniture, perfect living room for the 2 year old (should have brought a child gate for the stairs) to march around in and great location for walks to the beach and town. Thanks Melissa for your flexibility!

This house was amazing. Close to downtown Leland. We enjoyed everything about this house. We felt like we were at home. We will look into meeting here again in the summer.

We had a great time at the property for Thanksgiving. The kitchen was very functional and there was plenty of space for the whole family. The house was very kid friendly.

Home is in an excellent location. Layout (bedrooms and bathrooms) is excellent and perfectly accommodated our Family including our nearly 1 year old grandson. We all really felt “at home” which to us “says it all”!

Great house and location for exploring northern Michigan! We enjoyed walking into the town of Leland to get coffee and do a little shopping. The location is awesome for getting to so many wineries in the area. Easy drive to Suttons Bay, Traverse City and Glen Arbor. The tub in the hallway bathroom was clogged and therefore the water was not draining. We connected Melissa and she had a plumber out the next morning to fix it. She was wonderful in her communication with us! We truly appreciated that! House was cozy and warm which was wonderful considering it was a chilly and rainy visit. But that didn’t stop us from enjoying all that northern Michigan has to offer.

The house was everything advertised & more! Plenty of room for a large group. The kitchen was well appointed & the bedrooms were bright & beautiful. No complaints!!! We would love to come back 😊

Lovely property and easy walk to Fishtown. Best for family with children.

The home did suit our needs, but was underwhelming compared to the listing price. The list of things to do before checking out is the longest I’ve experienced at a vacation rental, so plan for about half an hour to accomplish all of the tasks in the morning (for our group of six people). The home needs some maintenance, but was safe and the bedding was clean so we stayed.

House is great. A fantastic location in Leland. We walked downtown to dinner every night. The beach is on the way, so we stopped for the sunset. The house is very clean and well stocked. Beds are comfortable. We couldn't have asked for anything else. Melissa is super helpful with information about the area in advance and sends prompt emails with everything about check-in and leaving. We would love to stay here again.
