receptionist is good and also the bathroom size is big enough

when I opened the room , I smelled strong cigarette and bed table has cigarettes pieces… i went downstairs to complain they changed the room but still very strong cigarette smell. they didn’t clean my room daily because I stayed a week . You need to ask for water , shower cap , towels , toothbrush …. by yourself . The bed is not comfortable and sheet , pillow cases are very cheap . Their lobby’s furniture is also dirty and old.

The location was very convenient making our visitings of completion at ease.

The price consider good value. For solo travel, the spacious is great. The bed was great, comfort. The bathroom is big and clean.

The air conditioner I have no idea to adjust. Only slow, medium strong, 3 option. Is not really nearby to station. But me is ok. But other , who doesn't really like to walk 6 minutes to station. Need to think about it.

The room is quite big in this price range. The location is 10 minutes by foot to O2 Yanchengpu station and the Love River.

As a Kaohsiung native, I'm used to Southern Taiwan hospitality. That's why I was utterly shocked by the cold demeanor of the staff after traveling more than 24 hours from Spain. I was even more shocked when I saw the room: filthy bathroom, dusty windows, missing door lock, failing safety device...etc. Completely different from those photos shown on Booking.com. After some Google research, I assume those photos were taken from the time when Rivero was called 力麗久居棧(高雄館). I have no idea how this hotel, which obviously can't pass security inspection, can keep doing business, especially after the deadly fire which took 46 lives in 2021. The burnt-down building, now a park, was just across Rivero, but still, the owner won't learn from the bloody lesson (the BBC report showed how close Rivero was when the deadly fire happened https://youtu.be/H7VXc8wwsJI). If you can't find other places to stay, remember to ask for a room on the lower floors for a better chance to escape from the fire.

Nothing I really don't recommend this hotel to anyone especially families.

I didn't like Nothing really , we checked in around 21.30 the place was not the same as shown on the pictures plus the rooms door lock wasn't working ( 5th floor.room 502)so it wasn't safe for my kids and wife. The smell of the damp was really bad too which made us decide to leave immediately the hotel after 10 minutes in and moved to a better hotel and lucky we found one.

Clean functional rooms

The location is convenient, the neighborhood is quiet, clean, and safe.

When we first arrived, we had to wait about 30 minutes for the receptionist to arrive to the lobby. We called several times, but no one answered any of the telephones in the reception. (This was 6 pm, so it was a normal time of the day). When she came back, she didn’t even give us an explanation or apology for the delay. When we went to our room, there were empty bottles and other garbage under our bed.

For a budget hotel, the Rivero was perfect and very good value. Quiet and clean neighbourhood and a large, comfortable room. I wanted to explore the Pier 2 area and Cijin Island and was able to walk to this area in about 15 minutes. Reception staff were so helpful

No international plug sockets so need adaptors - not a complaint, just an observation
