Comfortable room. This is a hostel so furnishings are spare. Many visitors used the large communal kitchen for meal prep. We made our breakfast in the kitchen but dined in town for dinners.

Everything about Haka house was great

-Close to Franz Josef town. Private & out the way of main road. - King room was spacious, tidy and linen was nice & clean. - Staff team that checked us in were lovely. - Common room & kitchen were really tidy, lots of little areas to sit & relax

- Had a king room but our TV didn’t work. Spoke to two separate staff members who said there was nothing they could do due to recent renovations (not their fault). They looked behind the TV to find a cable was missing, tried to find one, but couldn’t. Not ideal considering you’ve paid for it.

The place is nice and is recently renovated which is nice. Kitchen is big enough so u can take your time cooking without pressure.

Really bad customer service. If something is wrong with the payment they will treat as if you would run away without paying and treat you in a really rude way without understanding what went wrong even when these things should have been sorted out without checking as apparently the ones doing the check in are not doing their job right.

No breakfast was provided. Location is excellent as it is close to the glacier tour centre.

Sauna, Billard, Tischkicker, nagelneues Couch Mobiliar im Aufenthaltsraum, neue Betten mit Vorhang und abschließbarem Spind im Zimmer, große Küche. Das alles zum fairen Preis.

Die Sauberkeit ließ doch etwas zu wünschen übrig. Liegt leider auch an den Gästen, aber das Bad nur einmal am Tag zu reinigen, reicht (offenbar) leider nicht. Zudem keine Möglichkeit die Hände zu trocknen (Papiertücher wurden in den 4 Tagen Aufenthalt nie nachgefüllt). Zurzeit aufgrund noch nicht vollendetem Umbau keine Waschmaschine im Haus (10 min Fußdistanz zum öffentlichen Waschsalon).

Die Unterkunft war echt toll. Alles war da was man benötigt. Relativ neu alles und das Bett war sehr bequem. : )

Aufgrund der Renovierung konnte man leider im Hostel nicht waschen. Ein Wäscherei ist aber nicht weit entfernt.

Great bed, good location to every thing. They called us right away as I left my kobo. Very thoughtful. They provided me with extra blankets.

they has their own car park, and easy to walk to the supermarket or restaurant. the staff here is kind and friendly, feel cozy living there.

the shower is great (strong and heat enough) but the water is a little bit slow to flow away.

Not able to have wifi in the room

The kitchen was spacious and clean, the rooms were large as well. There is a large space to hang out or do work next to the kitchen. Laundry is coin operated from 9am-9pm. The bathroom showers have great pressue. My room was not full, which helped with the quiet and a good nights sleep. This is an excellent hostel to stay at, one of the best and I’d definitely stay again.

only good for young tired peaple who can sleep in a noisy environment. or older peaple with hearing problem.Hardly slept at night. I heard every door in This hotel. we left early and skipped a night and never regret it

Location is vey good

There was no breakfast. The spa was offered but we did not use it.

There was a dead bee in the room. The pressure on the bath sink was too strong.

EXCELLENT showers. Maybe best ever in a hostel.

Very loud fan in the room which needs a member of staff to turn off. If checking in after 7pm (reception close time) you need to call the ‘Emergency’ number to do this.

The location was great and the check in staff were lovely.

The bed was horribly uncomfortable, it sagged and was lumpy. The air units installed in each room were very noisy they went all night and were very loud.

When i got my reciept, there was surgarge of 2,78 NZD. On NZ bank card cheque account. When asked the reception staff she asked me:'because you paid by card?' . Except the payment was proccesed by the accomodation about 20 min after i made the booking so I had no other choice how to pay it. If you are going to charge us no matter what, let us know in the info, before we make the booking. The wifi was only in lounge, didn't reach to the rooms at all (apparently, their regular wifi was out of order). There were only like 3 tea towel, so none of them were clean.

Cosy twin room, clean, spacious, warm, roomy ensuite bathroom at great value. just what we needed after 8 nights in a small campervan. also the atmosphere in the kitchen and common room looked very friendly, cosy and relaxed, though we didnt use them. also: easy walking distance from main street.
