The infinity pool and view were amazing. The grounds were beautiful with gorgeous flowers and plants everywhere and very peaceful. Staff were friendly and accommodating with good English. Breakfast was included and the other Food was decent as well, prices average.
The location up the hill meant there were few mosquitoes unlike the rest of the island. We stayed beginning of Dec which is end of rainy season and extremely buggy everywhere else.
Location was far from the port which is fine since we had a car but if you don’t have transport, you are stuck there as it’s up a hill. Really no food options close by and definitely not by walking.
Driving wise - Merida is unpaved and the roads are a bit rough, it would be challenging arriving at night as the road to the hotel was not lit not was their sign.
I stayed in Room 8 which was a small room - it was the last available - and I can honestly say it was sort of a dump. Crooked paintings, holes in walls, sheets as window coverings, stains all over the walls, bed where you could feel the springs, AC that must’ve been over 20 years old (worked well) but sounded like an airplane, and worst of all there was a gap at the bottom of the door so there was always about 20 large ants on the floor so you couldn’t take your shoes off for fear of stepping on them and they bite. One morning we woke up and opened the door and there were thousands of those ants on the porch, all over the door frame and wall. I have no idea why but they eventually went away.
Breakfast was 2 options - Nica breakfast or 2 pancakes (no fruit or any other side). Always the same and average.
I checked out the family room and it was large and in slightly better shape but it was just as tired looking and the couch was covered in stains and very musty smelling.
Overall expect very basic rooms with stunning views

Big room, comfortable beds, A/C, good shower head/pressure.
The pool and the view are amazing. Best part of that hostel.
Food was ok.
Not the best recommendations from the staff. Went to the San Ramon waterfall after 2pm, told the host and he didn't inform us that it was too late to get in.. He should have known that since it's "at proximity".

The room was big and spacious! Staff were very nice.
Pool seemed a little discoloured but we still swam in it because it was so hot!

beautiful property. great location. amazing pool and view
did get a bunch of ants in room but that’s inevitable in a place like ometepe, it had nothing to do with cleanliness

Our stay at Hotel Omaja exceeded our expectations! The room was a cabana with a nice porch where we had an amazing view over the lake. The beds were really comfy and the bathroom was nice and spacious. Especially the hot shower was really nice after cold water showers for the past 4 weeks. The hotel has a good restaurant where they cook with fresh ingredients from their garden. The restaurant and swimming pool have the best view overlooking the lake with spectacular sunsets. The staff really knows how to treat their guests in making your stay at the hotel unforgettable!
The only thing that could have been better is the WiFi speed in the restaurant.

Everything we ate was good, a tiny bit more expensive then other places around for the food but it was worth it
The wifi was only available around the main area where the resto-bar and pool is. It would have been useful to have it at the cabin

Great place with an amazing views. Staff were very helpful and friendly and even invited us to their child's birthday party. Food was delicious and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Also one of the first places in Nicaragua where we were able to have a hot shower!
Location is difficult to drive to with muddy roads especially after rain so a bit of bike riding proficiency may be necessary. Also wifi only available in the bar area.

I couldn't say more about the beauty of this place. It probably has the best view in all of Mérida and the sunsets are spectacular. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful in terms of recommending activities on the island. The food was quite delicious and they gave very large portions. I really felt as though I was treated as a family member while here and not just another customer. I would highly recommend this spot to couples looking for a great place to stay. For solo travelers, it's a little quiet and likely not the best place to meet others, but if you're looking for an escape and some solitude, this was the spot
It is quite remote and far from Moyogalpa, I had to rent a dirt bike to get here as the roads are quite poor along the way, but that's part of the adventure.

I loved the view and the infinite pool, the sunset was breath taking. We have a YouTube Chanel (Cofi y su tribu) so for us was very important to have a good view. If all you care about is the view , this is your place
Unfortunately we couldn't sleep because of the noise of the animals from around and cats jumping on the rooftops. If you have a deep sleep you'll be ok, otherwise get ready to do not sleep. The beds are very old and the mattress are super hard. Also there were spiders behind the bed 🤷🏽♀️ I'm sorry but I gotta keep it honest.

The breathtaking view for sunset in the pool with cocktails.
Everything else was very disappointing considering the high price per night (60$) and the overall positive reviews on Booking…
- Outdated and not very clean bedroom and bathroom. They both need a full cleaning and some painting.
- The sheets and towels have holes and are stained - we asked to change one. They look like they haven’t been properly washed for a while.
- The diner (basic) is only served until 7:20pm. Given the remote location of the hotel - at the top of a 45 degree climb, you’d better eat early!
- First hot shower in 10 days. Unfortunately, the shower head was calcified which made the water jet very slim.
- Wifi isn’t available from the bedroom.
- Our stay was polluted by giant clouds of mosquitos and midges - we couldn’t see the floor of our terrace. We had to have diner real quick at the restaurant and stay inside for the rest of the evening. We totally understand that those clouds of insects aren’t the responsibility of the hotel, but it was sad to have no other option than locking ourselves in our room after 7:30pm with such a nice view.
- Staff is nice but lacks of responsiveness/proactivity. We had to ask to be served for breakfast and dinner after being seated there for +30 min. We had to ask several times to get a glass of water when I was choking because I had swallowed one mosquito (they would get in your ears, mouth and nose)
- The mattress is not confortable at all. One single night left us both with back pain.
If you can enjoy the pool with a cocktail only, we would recommend skipping staying the night and preferring nearby accommodations (i.e. Hari’s Horses Cabins or La Bambouseraie)
We are aware that tourism has drastically decreased since 2018, that covid didn’t help and that it has become more complicated to maintain a hotel like this. However, we believe that 60$ for the service and room we had is way too expensive. We have had amazing accommodations for half the price in other hostels/hotels/guest houses in Nicaragua.

wonderful staff, great view and a nice pool.
restaurant was fair prices. Location is a more remote part of the island, renting transport is necessary.
no wifi in room, only common area. the fly screen on our window had large holes so mostly couldn’t open the window and to change the speed of the fan you receive an electric shock from the cord.

The furniture is outdated and grubby, sheets and towels worn, no cleaning service.

We loved EVERYTHING about this place! What a gem, we really regretted not being able to spend more time here... it's a hotel nestled on the jungle side of a hill, overlooking the lake with a gorgeous view of Concepcion Volcano and the mainland across the water. You can chill in the pool, the bar, the restaurant, the breakfast bar, they all have this view! There was a howler monkey family in the trees pretty darn close, too, great for pics. Our casita was beautiful and perfect, much bigger than we expected. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and so were the fresh cocktails! Thanks Omaha we'll definitely be back :)

Peter, his wife and the staff did an amazing job! they were so nice and always smiling and friendly. we loved the views, the pool and the garden, and the size of the familyroom
we have a few suggestions
- make the breakfast a bit more healthy, like including fruits or a fresh juice.
- not allow day guests for the pool
- rooms are bit outdated

Amazing locstion on the western side of the island, which offering great sunsets over the lake. Nice infinity pool with great view to the lake and Volcán Conception. Friendly staff.
Thats it on the positive site. Reasonable prices drinks
The place lives from the reoutation of the pool and sinset. But that's it basically. Small und uncomfortable rooms, AC isnt working propeely. Dirty bathroom with hairs and blood from mosquitoes. Many ants sharing the room with you.
Breakfast is small, obky instant coffee, no juices included.
