We had a great family weekend!! It was perfect for our large group! Plenty of space! My questions were answered promptly. Would stay again!!

The property is quiet and quite lovely. The kitchen, although nicely done, was inadequate for our needs. There was not a decent pan for frying eggs, only 3 table knives in the drawer. And the cutlery was pretty much useless. The Farmhouse sink is great for bathing children, but a dishpan (as well as a dish rack) would be helpful for actually washing dishes. The large dining room table was perfect. Chairs, not so much. Beds were comfortable, A/C worked well. We spent much time out in the yard playing games, it is perfect for that. Internet is as good as can be expected for a country property, the "smart TV" as advertised is an Apple TV connected to the TV. Couldn't get much on it. Was able to Air Play some videos from a Mac computer, so that was nice. We had a wonderful weekend here, the goal was family time and that was achieved. I recommend this property, bring plenty of drinking water with you.

The property was perfect for our Notre Dame family weekend. Everything was clean. The home was beautiful and had plenty of room for all 10 of us. The property manager was easy to reach when we had a question. Would definitely rent here again. Was our favorite of all of our rentals in the past 5 years.

We live in OH but our son was getting married here so we wanted a place where a few of us family could stay and we could also host the wedding rehearsal/rehearsal dinner...since their venue didn't allow for a rehearsal. This place ended up being the hub for the weekend as all their wedding photos were also done on the property. From the porch swing to the bonfire location to the neighbors horse we could pet - it was awesome. The lighting in the dining room was perfect for the photographer to do some indoor photos also. Kitchen well stocked and we had everything we needed for entire weekend. Beds were all comfy/clean. If I had to find a drawback it would only be for those who like all the amenities of a new construct place....if you prefer fancy bathrooms and such. For us, we loved the aesthetic of the entire place. We all had hot showers and the A/C worked great! Tons of space AND a 1st floor BR for my in laws.

This is a beautiful property. My family stayed here during a wedding in South Bend. It was perfect for a combination of adults, teen agers, and young children. Very comfortable.

Spacious property and beautiful yard. The house required some repairs, but the owners were actively working to complete them, e.g., repair companies were arriving just as our party was checking out. Both points of contact during my stay were very kind and prompt!

We were in town for a family reunion, so were not at the house much during the day, but we had a very comfortable stay there and would definitely stay again.

This was our second time to stay in this beautiful home in a lovely rural setting. It's a very peaceful and relaxing place, with plenty of room to spread out. It's also close enough to nearby towns to drive in for a visit. We would definitely consider staying here again.

This is the 4th (5th?) time we have rented this property and we have been extremely pleased every time.

The Madison Rd Farm House was a perfect place for our family gathering to see our son & his wife after his long naval deployment in the middle east. The bedrooms spacious, 2 1/2 bathrooms were private, clean, and lots of hot water for showers/baths. Our family cooks and so enjoyed the workable kitchen fully stocked with cookware, pantry had ingredients available if we had forgotten any. The Dining room & table was large to accommodate all of us and the high chair available was so helpful. The property provided fun activities for all ages and the setting and home made you feel like you were in a story book. This home truly made you feel like you were in your own home. Our children and grandchildren loved the time spent together in this wonderful setting. We are hoping to come back again soon! Thanks so much!

Our family of 6 had a wonderful long weekend. Our kids range in age from 16-25 and everyone found a great space and place to unwind, relax individually and as a family. We enjoyed this secluded country house surrounded by cornfields. Large front and back yard with huge shady trees made for relaxing days. Next door horse was friendly and fun to visit. We loved the fire pit on cool evenings and the swing on the porch was a highlight at any time of day or night. We had a great time cooking and kitchen was accommodating. Ate in dining room (vs outdoors). Ann was a wonderful host who was extremely responsive and timely to all questions throughout our stay. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to be away from it all and enjoys privacy, peace and quiet, starry nights and lots of corn fields.

This beautiful old property from the large lawn to the horse field, to the surrounding cornfields is a great place for a family gathering. We had four generations of our family here and everyone had a great time.

This was the perfect place for us to visit with my daughter and her family from Elkhart. Plenty of room to relax, a huge yard for the grandkids, and a well-equipped kitchen so we could cook together. We enjoyed relaxing evenings around the fire pit, and hope to stay again some day. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We enjoyed our stay on Madison road! Spacious bedrooms with plenty of room. Nice place for families. Cute front porch swing as well as a tree swing out front!

We were in the country, with a horse named Copper. The house was large, plenty of room for our group of 8. The kitchen was well stocked and bedrooms were generous. All was good.

This is the second time we rented this property, and we were as pleased as the first time. One less star for accuracy of online listing because the daily rate seems to be constant now, and is more than the web page initially states.

We had five children and seven adults stay here to be close to family in Elkhart that was hosting thanksgiving. We were overwhelmed as soon as we drove up to the property, a quaint acreage surrounded by farmland and greeted by a horse. My six year old made a beeline for the children’s play area that provided lots of entertainment during our stay. The interior is stunning and so well appointed. They pretty much had everything we needed. Fires every night, the best sleep I’ve ever had anywhere that’s not home (I travel nearly weekly for work) and incredible memories to look back upon. The owners were extremely accommodating and always available for our annoying questions. We are already planning our trip back. Thank you so much

Great country farmhouse to rent while attending a ND football game!

Great older home, We rented the home for a guys weekend of golf and Notre Dame football. House fit are needs to a tee. Close to town but still a country setting. We are all ready planing next years trip and hope this house will be available.

This property exceeded our expectations . We spent our family Christmas and new year in this gorgeous home . I did not feel like I was in a rental , I felt like I was in my own house . Everything about this house is perfect . I was worried about the smell of the water but it was not as bad as you would think , after a few hours you get completely used to it . The house is huge every room is decorated soooo cute . I could not say anything bad about this property . I would definitely do this again .

Some of our children and grandchildren stayed here while the rest stayed at our home a mile away at the time of our Christmas gathering. It eased our overload, and those who stayed at the VRBO property reported it to be clean, spacious, and comfortable. The grandchildren loved petting Copper the horse. They even enjoyed walking across the fields between the homes several times. We hope to do this again sometime in the future.

We came to South Bend for a Notre Dame weekend and really enjoyed staying at Madison Road.

Our family stayed here for a ND football weekend and had a blast. Kids loved the outdoors, feeding Copper the horse and the snacks in the kitchen were a nice touch. Incredibly peaceful and quiet. Very clean and comfortable. Everything you need for a nice family getaway. No complaints, washer and dryer would have been helpful but not necessary for a 3-4 day trip. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
