Quiet and relaxing but close to Main Street stuff. Enjoyed the cellar level second bedroom. Definitely going to this property again.

I was very pleased with the property. What I wasn't pleased about was the note in the cabin that said if we use the second bed we would be charged an additional $25!!! I paid for a 2 bedroom place .... why the extra charge???

Rented this cabin for two nights on the weekend for my wife’s birthday. It was a relaxing getaway and we all enjoyed our stay. Makes me want to move out of the city!

What a great place to stay! Cozy little barn conversion from the 1840’s. Less than a mile from main street but with the charm of an old times. Has everything you need. Will stay again if available!

This cabin is so cozy and cute. It is the perfect getaway for a small group looking for a place to spend the night in Fredericksburg.

We enjoyed the house and quaintness. The rather junky patio and backyard was not real nice to step out and see. The backyard could have been more pleasant to enjoy. For old folks the tub was hard to get in and out of.

Property is adorable. It is too close to the main house and did not feel there was much privacy. Neighbors are too close. Would have preferred to be more remote for this type of cabin. Coffee maker was super slow. Bathtub / shower is adorable but not user friendly to the group.

The history of this location is amazing. You really feel like you stepped back in time with foot thick walls and 100+ year old windows. We sat and watched the deer in the backyard with coffee each morning and loved the peace it afforded being a mile from the action. A couple of tips to keep in mind is that there is zero privacy. You are in a barn with open ceilings and large cracks between the floor boards to see and hear the bedroom below. The shower is gorgeous but treacherous with a very deep step to get in and out with no rails and a shower curtain that clings to your every move. Overall the place was clean, beautiful, natural and very relaxing.

Felt like we stepped back in time but with all the comforts of the 21st century. Great AC (for those that struggle with the Texas heat, it was a godsend). Loved the tranquility of the neighborhood. Just a $10 Uber/Lyft ride to town.

Host provided Such great attention to detail. A beautiful property. Cabin was beyond our dreams. Really felt like we were back in time. Just beautiful.

This house is adorable. We will definitely come again when we have more time. This stay was for business but we would love to stay again in the future and stay longer

The 1800's cabin was very neat and very well done. Great place to stay. The location was great and very convenient to everything we wanted to do, and was quiet and we enjoyed the wildlife in the yard. Owner was very nice and assisted on arrival. Only reason we didn't give it a 5-star was because of the management group "Gasthaus Schmidt" - after the booking we never received ANY type of contact with checkin/arrival instructions, so upon arrival we messaged requesting info on how to access, and after the owner let us in with his key, we received a message back from management group to come by their office and pick up a key so we had to head back to town to pick it up. Poor communication and inconvenient check in/check out procedure.

It was amazing, cozy place

If you're looking for an authentic 1880s experience, this is the place. The barn sits in a quiet neighborhood and is full of character. Authentic wood throughout, claw tub and shower, and impressive fireplace are just a few of the things we loved about this property. We would definitely stay here again.

Cabin was well designed and well taken care of, bed was comfortable, bathroom was bright and spacious with a tub and shower, and kitchen had everything we needed. We shared the rustic, private outdoors with deer and many beautiful birds. And the owner gave us tips on several places to explore.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Easy access to everything and very quiet neighborhood. Nice rustic look inside and out. Deer in the morning along with all the cardinals.
