The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, giving suggestions and making reservations at restaurants.. The breakfast was fantastic, wonderful bakery items all homemade and delicious. Francesco went out of his way to help and make suggestions.. We'll definitely recommend this B&B to others. Thank you for making our trip to Parma so special ..

Everything was perfect

Peaceful rustic ambience within 8 minute drive to city centre. Most comfortable bed in 4 weeks in Italy. sensational breakfast. All Francesco’s recommendations for restaurants and places of interest were excellent. would stay again when in Parma

I am very happy I stayed at this Gem: Great hospitality, lavender smelling bright ample rooms, fresh baked goods, amazing accommodations & genuine smiles that exceeded my expectations. Podere Merlo was the highlight of my stay in the region -and possibly italy-. Podere merlo is a 10 out of 10.

We wanted a safe location to stay on our drive through the area which provided car parking. This met our need perfectly as it was only a 10 minute taxi ride outside of the main town.

We were very happy with everything so there was absolutely nothing we didn't like.

This property is so unique in all its details. it’s almost like a museum. It’s also so close to the downtown but so quiet and peaceful. plus the hosts are so kind.

Welcoming staff, excellent breakfast and a comfortable room

The water was only luke warm at best in the shower, and there were strict rules about not eating or drinking anything but their supplied small bottle of water in the rooms. While this was easy to comply with, it would have been nice to have a common area elsewhere, with a kettle to make hot drinks

The room was bright, attractive and very functional. It also had air-conditioning which was a real life saver in the extremely hot 🔥 weather. Bed was firm and comfortable, and the breakfast was varied and tasty.

I liked everything about this place and highly recommend it to travellers visiting Parma.

Francesco was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and outlining the city of Parma. Breakfast was wonderful, we had the best panna cotta we have ever had and there were many fresh baked pastries and fresh from the garden fruits - absolutely wonderful! The room was very cozy and the vintage farm house décor was very charming.

It is difficult to capture just how perfect this place is. Just outside the town of Parma, the sounds of crickets at night and birds chirping in the morning will lull you into one of the most restful sleeps and joyful awakenings of your trip. The building has been beautifully redone, retaining all of the old world charm and nostalgia travelers crave. The breakfast is an event - set in the picturesque dining room, delicious homemade items just keep coming and coming. The owners are delightful, their hard work and dedication to offering a wonderful experience for their guests is felt through all of their thoughtful details. Couldn't recommend this place enough, and a visit to charming Parma.

The only slight downside was the air con was in the corridor outside the bathroom, rather than in the bedroom, although it couldn't realistically go elsewhere

Everything! The place was historic, quiet and beautiful! The breakfast was homemade and fabulous! Only 5 minutes from city center.

An incredible location just outside of Parma. The rooms were large and en suite, with beautiful interiors. Francesco and his wife prepared the best breakfast of my life! Thank you so much! Will definitely return to this place.

We loved everything about our stay! Out hosts were very welcoming and gracious. The rooms were very quaint and historic but had all the modern amenities. The grounds were beautiful and very private. The breakfast bountiful and delicious with a wide assortment of homemade pastries, yogurt and Panna cotta. Located only 5 minutes from the Parma city center.

It is a lovely house in nice gardens. Breakfast was especially excellent with home made food and such a nice ambiance. The house has a lot of character and comfortable room. Great location near city but very peaceful. We really enjoyed the stay and will be back.

Nothing it was all very good

The room was clean, spacious, adorable and comfortable. Breakfast was delicioso! Its a shame we could not stay there for a couple of days.

Breakfast was exceptional with homemade yogurt, pastries, jams, etc. and accompanied with cappucinos and local hams. There were three in our party and we had a suite with two lovely bedrooms with a warm and inviting sitting room. There was also a large outdoor sitting area overlooking a large lawn and sitting area. Overall the property is beautifully restored and maintained by the owners Francesco and Angelica who were most gracious. One highlight was there recommendation of Simonetta as a local guide for a private four hour tour of Parma highlighting its history, culture, sights and recommendations for dining.

Exceptional in every aspect! The hosts are great and welcoming and the breakfast with lot of homemade food was the finest during our journey to Italy! The styling and decoration of the room and facilities is marvelous!

Podere Merlo is wonderful! It is perfect if you are travelling with car. House itself is cozy and has real Italian feeling, it is historical and very well restaurated and has big garden around it. Hosts are very friendly and also suggested us many great things to do. Rooms are big, breakfast served outside is probably one of the best I ever had. Loved everything about this place and I am suggesting it to eveyone who wants to feel real Italy.

Loved it all! Location 8 minute drive to Parma centre. The building, rooms & garden area are beautiful and so relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and home made. And our lovely hosts were helpful, kind and tentative through out. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

It is a delightful house,beautifully stylish and very comfortable. The bedroom was lovely and the breakfast truly excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay including dinner at the local trattoria 183 which was very good.

The location is semi urban and close to roads but sufficiently set back for there to be no noise problem inside the house.
