The host met me and gave the keys, a pleasant man speaking English. The property has two baths (one of those has door that is not closing). There is a salon. Location is great, near the station.

It is allowed to smoke inside! There is no kettle in the kitchen. The door to one bathroom is not closing. The is no Wi-Fi.

amazing place and soooo close to the train station. it’s near a mall and a Mercadona. it’s a little far from the city but it’s an amazing walk, totally recommend.

Location is convenient, close to train and bus station and close to city centre. Also when looking for any positives, I must appreciate that the host remained civil and relatively reasonable during our dispute of how the apartment and the service should look like (no irony here - I was genuinely impressed that although the stay itself was awful, we were still able to debate politely even when in utter disagreement).

If it is not apparent from the info provided during booking (I myself was not sure), this is indeed just a room in a random apartment in a random building with shared bathroom etc., not at all any kind of a hotel or anything remotely similar to it. The room smelled really funky (heavy sweaty, no-effort-in-cleaning-at-all-during-last-half-year kind of smell), dirty carpets and bedding apparently not changed after the last (few) guest(s)- hair on the sheets and sweat marks and stains on pillows and sheets were proof enough. I did not expect much based on the reviews I read but this one ended well within top 5 most disgusting places I ever stayed during my travels - and I have never been too demanding in these terms. There is no AC in the apartment and it gets very very hot during summer days. An insult to injury was the lock situation - there is a lock on each room door which is NOT supposed to lock when you close the door unless you actually attempt to lock it with your keys. However, due to a shabby design of the lock, I stepped out of my room to wash my hands, a draught slammed the door shut and the power of the slam caused the lock to click and left me locked out of the room without any possessions. This would not be a problem if resolved quickly but it took 6 hours to get ahold of the owner (on a Saturday - door slammed shut at 1PM, the kind people staying in other rooms repeatedly calling and messaging the owner ever since and the owner coming to open the door just before 7PM (after promising to be there within 20 mins at 5PM). When he finally came with a spare key, we had that surprisingly polite debate about him coming to resolve a basic, yet urgent problem only after 6 hours. He even asked to cover his gas expenses - I politely refused, he politely disagreed and I completed my stay without any further problems. Long story short - this is not worth the savings unless you really, really need to stay somewhere in Castellon for as low price as possible.

The Owner is a criminal and theif. He and his friend stole my bag worth 5,000 euro includes all my documents. I am about to begin a legal proceedings to recover all my stolen items in monetary compensation. He will end up in jail.

I have been staying in this hostel for over a year because l am studying at Jaume I University in Castelon. The last time l stay in the apartment; l left my luggage as usual and asked the Cheff to keep the bag until l will be back. I came back and the owner of the apartment refuse to give me back my bag. I have all our conversations regarding my stay and the bag kept in the apartment. I travel back to Nigeria in May and the Boss friend that stay in the apartment send me a message that he found my certificates and documents kept in my bag in the hostel. He requested that l sent him money to send them through DHL. I sent 100 euro into his Spanish account in May. Till now, he refused send me my documents. I chatted him yesterday and he told me that my bag and documents is with the Owner of the apartment. The worth of my bag stolen by the owner of the hostel and his friend is 5,000 euro include all my documents and personal belongings. I already asked my lawyer to begin a legal processes. I will be back to Castelon in August to report the case to the police. The Owner of the hostel is a criminal. I will recover all my looted goods in compensation. I will also sensitive the public to stop staying in that apartment because it is not safe. I have every evidences against the them to prosecute a legal action. They will definitely end up in jail. Close to the train station

I have never seen a dirtier place to rent, it was simply awful. The bathroom was not cleaned for probably a month, there was no paper, there was a broken lock in one bathroom, my mother could not open the door, midges, flies, spoiled food in the kitchen, dust, hair, ash from cigarettes on the floor in the room, there was no Internet, the bed was washed , sprayy and smelled of sweat, it was just a nightmare. The price for these amenities is too high, if you are renting accommodation, you need to keep order, it was a complete lack of sanitation.

Host was friendly and room/toilet had a basic level of cleanliness. Checkout time later than most places (2pm). Price was very affordable.

Room was not ready at check-in, cleaning was done very late (after 5:30pm!) No WLAN. For some reason there were consistently many flies in the kitchen. Furniture was old and barely usable.

Very positive host couple. Price was adequate to the level of equipement. Can recommand to chilled people who likes to come back to the apartment late :)

The host was super. The flat clean, in a good position.

Was a little bit to loud. The flat is on the street with a lot of traffic at night, a lot of mopeds and so on.

1. bad smell: There have been a weird couple that was kind of our contact person for the stay. They have been sitting all day long in the common area frequently smoking. So the hostel, towels and bed linen smelled like a ashtray. 2. No warm water: from the day we arrived there was no warm water, so we needed to shower cold. 3. Very dirty facilities: when we arrived we found the toilet in a kind of interessting condition. 💩also the kitchen looked like a club after a big party. The woman’s attempts to clean the kitchen were quite funny, at least she tried. 3. Rude host: According to the other review these are well known issues but the owner Florian didn’t care about it. When calling him he was pretty rude and explaining that there is warm water, we just need to do a little trick. Fun fact the weird couple also left because of the cold water. Surprise In the end we left after 3 nights. We tried to be patient. Everybody can have a bad day, especially during this times. But being rude and don’t care about the situation just sucks.

I didn't like the fact that there was a guy the owner of the hostel gave the keys to give to me. He gave me my keys but he stressed me out the whole time, trying to know how I am doing, asking me to go out to eat with him and it was just too much and tiring. I know this guy was just trying to be nice, after all it was the owner of the hostel that involved him in the first place. But I think if the owner of hostel hadn't given the keys to the guy to give me, would have been better. I will suggest that the hostel places the keys in a secure place, whereby anyone arriving can pick it up easily.

Room absolutely stank of fresh cigarette smoke. The worst i have ever smelt. The sheets and towels stank so bad of it. I hardly slept as the smell was disgusting. Couldnt open the window as the noise from the cars driving in the street was so loud. Water in shower came through very lukewarm.....

Clean and functional. Let me grab my key early.
