Such elegance, beauty and history! We wish we could’ve spent more than three days at the extraordinary Hartwell House. The entire staff is incredible, but a special shout out goes to John, Ethan and Matthew. Dinner was delicious and perfectly proportioned, the massage and pool area are of the highest quality, our room in the main house was spacious, and the grounds are heavenly.

Simply the best hotel I have stayed in in the UK. Warm greeting and guided tour of the facility. Stunning location and accomodation. Travelling alone dining can be daunting but the staff were exceptional.

I would not change a single thing

Swimming in the pool was great as was the spa. Staff attentive and courteous. Food was delicious. Very grand main building with home comforts. TV good as was the Wi-Fi. Very peaceful.

Room a little chilly. Not keen on the bedding, one blanket and heavy counter pain cover. Would have preferred a regular duvet. After Dinner had to walk in the dark outside back to my room. Pathway poorly lit, they could have provided torches for guests whose room was not close to the restaurant.

Very welcoming staff and fantastic atmosphere in the common rooms, which are still filled with Louis XVIII spirit and aesthetics. The SPA facilities are very clean and beautiful, the outside garden is large and well kept so it was very pleasant to walk around the peaceful estate in the mornings.

Limited vegetarian meal options at the restaurant menu were the only drawback of our stay, but it was well compensated by very caring staff and excellent drinks selection.

The property was excellent all round.

Nothing. Everything was fabulous. Booking.com confirmed our booking then the hotel phoned to say they were actually fully booked and our booking shouldn’t have been confirmed so not sure how that happened.

Breakfast was fantastic. Staff were attentive and courteous. Location was fantastic, outside of the town but close enough to venture in.

Dining experience was exceptional. Level of service could not be faulted. The Spa was clean and had very few people in it. Felt like our own private spa. Very relaxing

Bed was a standard double - this was a shame we are used to a kingsize bed

We love coming to Hartwell House. This visit with all the Covid regulations in place was equal to the pleasure we always have at staying. The staff are incredible and as always the food was 5 star! Thank you.
