Lots of fun things to see and do, great for a weekend getaway!

From the moment you get there, you realize that you’ve just made a great decision. The pecan trees, oak trees are stunning. The back patio/ pool / grill area is perfect. Ton of space to cook, etc… The whole property lights up at night, which makes for a great walk or a slow golf cart ride down to the river and gazebo area. I will rent this place again, so much fun and close to everything. Y’all made my 50th birthday party a memorable one.

If you are needing a large home full of charm and fun, this is your spot. River access, pool, spa and plenty of room! Great outdoor kitchen to relax and unwind.

Perfect property with lots of space. The 5 acres were great for grandkids running around. Could not have been happier, they made our wedding absolutely perfect.

What a great find were the remarks I heard pretty much all weekend. Plenty of room for our group of ~16 girls. River access was perfect, pool was amazing and the house was beautiful. The owners could not have been more helpful and accessible.

Perfect! Only things that could make it better is a pool bathroom toilet and a bigger living room in which to gather. The river is the best 👌. The pool was the highlight! Everyone who came left absolutely happy and joyous that they experienced this small haven on earth. Thank you for and awesome time to the owners!

We had a great time at this property. Perfect for the whole family. Both kids and adults had a great time at the river and swimming in the pool, the property has everything you need! Large enough space that 4 families could comfortably stay there. Jeff and Lynnae were amazing host! Can’t say enough great things! We will be back.

This is the second year we have stay at this place. The house is beautiful, very well maintained and well stocked. There is good river access, a comfortable outdoor cooking area and a pool. The owners are very accommodating and easy to contact if anything is needed. We came with our whole family including five grandchildren. Enough room to give everyone their own space with privacy. We will definitely book again.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. The rooms and all amenities were ideal for everyone who stayed. Plenty of room, the pool was amazing and the convenience of the river made the overall stay an A+. The property owners met us there to greet us and give us an overview and were in communication throughout our entire stay. If we had a question, they quickly responded or stopped by to help us out. I cannot say enough great things about this place and the owners!

This property has a pool and hot tub as well as river access! We went in February so it was too cold for the river and pool but we enjoyed the hot tub!

Everything about the photos are absolutely accurate. Great spot for a big group to stay in new Braunfels. 10 out of 10. The only thing I would say that you should know, is that the Paris room that can hold 10 guests has a bathroom that does not lock. Plan accordingly and you’ll be happy with your stay!

Great house and property for a guys weekend. Plenty of beds, and big outdoor area to bbq and watch sports. Great access to the river and plenty of tubes and kayaks for us to float. Highly recommend and plan to stay again in the near future.

Property was amazing, we should've just stayed there the entire time instead of going into town. But it was a fun time all-around. Great hosts, everything you could think of to do, pool was great, would love to come back!

We had a great time at the Gruene River Guest House. We got married on property in the Gazebo! It was perfect for our group on 13. Kids loved the river too! Great owners to work with too !

The property was everything we could have asked for. Plenty of space. Five entrances offering privacy for each of our families. Beautiful outdoor area with a very well built outdoor kitchen. The river access is perfect. The owners were very accommodating and made sure our arrival was taken care of with a tour of the property and where all the amenities were located. Some of the other reviews mentioned the owners being visible throughout the visit. We did notice this as they were onsite each day of our stay for one reason or another. It didn't really bother us. The only visit we wished would have been avoided was on the arrival of the owner at 10:00am to fix the pool pump when we were leaving at 11:00. All in all - this is a great place and we would definitely book again.

When I saw this property listed, it almost seemed too good to be true, but I'm here to tell you: it's just as great as it seems! The property is lovely and spacious, with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, not to mention the outdoor area, complete with a pool (with shade!), an amazing outdoor kitchen, and a three minute walk to the river with easy access. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating, and they clearly wanted us to enjoy ourselves. Our group of friends had a marvelous time cooking together, playing volleyball in the pool, and being lazy in the river. We are definitely planning on returning to this amazing place!

I was told there were to be two entrances to the river because I I specifically called ahead of making any reservations to be sure that there would be a place for the younger grandchildren to sit and play in shallow water and was told that there was however upon arrival we were told that the shallow river entrance was under construction. They chose a Premium holiday week (4th of July) that we had booked six months in advance to have this entrance shut down for construction work! The description claims that there is a margarita and ice machine in the outdoor kitchen neither were available there was no horseshoe pit and the use of the volleyball net was impossible because they kept sprinklers going 24 / 7 the yard was a muddy mess kids could not even play in the grass. The husband was at the house several times each day turning on sprinklers and moving them around , the sprinklers were going when we got up and going when we went to bed.I have rented many times from VRBO and have never had an owner present as much as these people were. It was a little strange and perhaps he was keeping an eye on the property and us but the security cameras that are everywhere aimed at the hot tub and the swimming pool should have done that for him. The thermostat in the main farmhouse went up automatically to 86 at night. It took us quite a while to figure out how to override and unlock that on the 2nd day.that 1st night was pretty hot in those bedrooms. The coffee maker in the Texas room does not work and even if it did there was no way to plug it in unless we sat it on the floor there are no outlets on the coffee bar that the cord would reach and none on the bathroom vanity we would have to sit on the floor to blow dry & fix your hair , small issues but a lot of money for so many issues. Having said all this maybe in the future the renter should be notified if the property is not going to be as described.

Overall this place was everything we hoped for and more. Large group of family and friends, all ages from 50+ to 2 mons old. Plenty of room and the details and care the owners have put into this property are remarkable. However, the hosts are a bit too intrusive for my liking. When you spend that much on a property for the weekend to celebrate a 40th birthday party/military retirement (not a bunch of 20 year olds) you expect to be able to enjoy your weekend without the host popping up on the property during your stay. The hosts made it clear they had neighbors watching to enforce rules (they have a very strict 9 car/20 guest (including children) policy, which is already unnerving by itself to know people are watching you, couple that with the feeling like they are watching your every move on the cameras in every corner of the property, they show up randomly to do “yard work” during the stay, and then showed up 30 mins before checkout and complain to you out loud about a small amount of confetti (after a party) before you even had a chance to finish cleaning, well that definitely ensured we won’t be returning to this specific property which is a shame. It’s a gem but if your hope is to relax and celebrate without worries then I recommend choosing one of the many other amazing properties in the area. It’s a shame to turn 40, invest 4K for a celebration, then very obviously not be trusted.

This was everything we hoped for and more. Lynnae and Jeff are the cherry on top. A group of colleagues traveling the state to visit our customers and we were tired of hotel after hotel. NB happens to be one of my fav areas so I decided to find us a house. This was perfect for our group of 11…many who stayed have asked me for the house details so they can book for their families! I know I’ll be returning with mine. So clean and well stocked! They’ve thought of everything. Beds are super comfy.

We could not have asked for a more perfect place for our girls getaway! The owners have thought of everything!

Good time

The owners met us at the property at check in to show us around and answer any questions. Had been a long week of meetings so we didn’t take full advantage of their property tour, but nice to know where everything was. We really enjoyed our stay with our group. Could have easily added more people with all of the beds available. Everything was as described. The owners have gone above and beyond to make sure all the little things are there. ie coffee, soaps, paper products, lots of towels and a very well stocked kitchen. It was super cold while we were there but plenty of propane was set up to keep the outdoor heater running. Would love to return in the summer to really utilize the river and pool. Outdoor kitchen was an amazing hang out area. Check out process was easy with a minimal list so we didn’t have to spend a ton of time our last day out. Thanks for a great place to end our trip!
