Big room with authentic furniture. Nice breakfast, tasty pad thai, fresh waffles Nice welcoming staff. Beautiful thai architecture. Nice location, close to shops and restaurants. Beautiful calm pool (if it's not crowdy) under the tree with a swing. Worth to stay for several days.

Everything is a bit shabby. Bad smell of mold inside the room, even on clean linen. Dark rooms don't get enough sunlight, stays moist. Only one pillow for a person. Dark outdated bathroom. Small territory and pool (fair to say during our stay hotel didn’t look overloaded and it was ok). Unfortunately no sea view from balcony. Shallow sea, possibly to swim only on your knees (July 2023). Didn't accept UnionPay cards.

Room size was great and clean, breakfast was really good , lots of choices, the staff were very friendly, helpful, they couldn’t do enough to make your stay more pleasant, the location was good, right in the middle of the Main Street and the beach at your back door, with lots of choice of bars, restaurants and street food everywhere, on the beach and the Main Street,, 7/11s to get cheap takeaway beers but far enough away from the noise of the bars that partied to 5am every night/ morning. The pool was a good size, it was clean and right on the beach. Happy hour from 1 to 3 pm everyday. Being an adult only place it was nice and peaceful without kids taking over the pool,,

The only thing I would say is that the mattress were a bit hard,, Dara is right on the beach, but it’s right on a lagoon so when it’s low tide you really wouldn’t want swim there as it’s really shallow,,, no big deal you just have to walk about 200 metres down the beach to get away from the lagoon area.

We loved the Darra Villa, great location villa close to brekkie and dining area and beach. Staff fantastic as always in Samui. Nat was a delight, along with Mook and Tor. Dinner on beach at restaurant was impressive.

Would have loved a gym.

The hotel is located in Chaweng (i.e., the touristy area of Samui) and is very close to the airport (5 mins drive). Staff is very friendly.

The hotel really needs to be renovated. Our room was pretty old, one of the light fitting was falling off and the socket was loose. The filters of the air conditioning have to be changed asap as the room smelt bad each time this was on. The bedroom and bathroom are separated by a window with no blinds or curtains, and because there are no curtains in the bathroom, the morning light enters directly into the bedroom.

The staff were excellent and made our stay memorable. Dinner at the beach was excellent and sat up beautifully.

The wifi in our room was terrible , no way of watching a television programme , called the engineer twice then gave up ( not his fault). To use the phone we had to go to the pool, very disappointing. The beach at the hotel was only knee deep so we had to walk around 700 metres to get some swimming, nothing the hotel can do about that.

Lovely hotel complex, fantastic staff, the room was very spacious with a lovely view, the buffet had changes each day so it didn’t get boring.

The room was great. Plenty of space. Nice hot-tub. Everything worked well. Staff were excellent and looked after us with renting a bike, buying tickets for the Thai boxing, etc. A late checkout wasn't available for us, but the staff stored our luggage and arranged a place for us to take a shower and get changed before we headed to the airport.

The beach in front of the hotel was only available for a few hours per day at low tide. The rest of the time the water was splashing up against the retaining wall. If you want a beach right out front of your hotel with free banana lounges then you need to choose somewhere else. But you can walk for only 5 minutes up the beach to get to a good spot. Because of this all the banana lounges had to be up by the pool and there's not really enough space for everyone, so they filled up very early each day. Set your alarm if you want a pool side banana lounge. Wifi was not consistent.

Pool area much too small with the amount of beds. Germans were placing towels on beds at 07:00 and not sitting there until 10:00. Staff not monitoring this.

It's a bit dated and has a few issues , we had a couple of issues with the loo and Aircon but the staff were amazing and couldn't be more helpful to sort it 5 Cleaning was an issue as on 3 occasions the lady came at 6pm to clean the room too late.

Hotel and the rooms especially DO NOT look anything like the pictures. The rooms are old and dusty, it feels like there are bugs everywhere inside the room. The bath and toilet were absolutely filthy upon arrival. Had to ask for housekeeping 3 times before they finally came, over a 5 hour period! Room service was ok - nothing special, better food out.
