The mattress smelt like piss, even after changing the sheets, so we moved to another room. The new room had swimming pool view, and every morning they put loud speaker on to entertain kids. Mirrors and walls were dirty, no way this is a 4-star hotel as advertised.

Location was perfect for my purposes. Gym was actually a real gym, not a "pretend" gym. Pool was good. Poolside bar was good. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Room facilities were a bit dated - but the toilets flushed, the lights worked, cable TV was on offer and the aircon cooled. Wifi was more than adequate. Room had a (small) safety box. Minor room defects were quickly fixed. No real cause for complaint.

Breakfast, during Ramadan, was a bit hit and miss. Coffee was on - or not - and frequently changed positions in the dining area. No useful napkins, which you had to hunt for. The service of alcohol at the poolside bar was problematic - payment was cash only (change had to be sought from front desk) and there were occasionally problems keeping track of exactly what had been consumed. And please spare us the virtue signalling of the "Save the Earth Hour" with notice only given that day.

Old style grandeur meets modern facilities. We just lived out stay here from the mom the doors were opened for you on arrival until we left. Great staff, food and facilities. High lit were the 17 m pool for laps in the morning and the talented pianist and guitarist playing in the evening

Absolute hidden gem of a place. The hotel is lovely, reception area and rooms were great. The hotel was clean and had great facilities, the pool and gym were great for us as a family. The staff are incredibly helpful, always going out of their way to help you and make the experience a real 5 star experience. The service is one of the best I've received in all our travels around the world. My husband left his wedding ring there by accident and they even posted it to us. The restaurant is great, always open and sometimes even if it was just us there. Music entertainment in reception every single evening, a lovely treat when you returned back from a long day. They had a fantastic laundry service too, which was a god send as a travelling family of 4. They have a little ice cream freezer in the restaurant open all day, which my kids loved and at a great price. There is an incredible Italian restaurant 2 minutes walking distance called nanamia, fantastic pizza and past. Up the side alley where you see restaurants like dim sum, the farm etc. Overall with the service, cleanliness and facilities, we had a fantastic stay. Would highly recommend the hotel.

Not really a criticism, but if you're in the rooms facing the pool, be aware it gets very loud from 7am with children at the pool.

The fitness center was very complete, and the outside space of the hotel had a walking trail and a tennis court. There were many different options in the breakfast buffet, too.

Some foods displayed in the menu have very different ingredients than the ones found in original recipes, such as lasagna and carbonara.
