Great location on the best northland beach, quirky motor lodge with unique style, very clean, brilliant staff and excellent value for the money

John and Tanya were fantastic hosts, genuinely warm and welcoming and going the extra mile to make sure we had a great stay. Waking up right on the beach and having an early morning swim, life doesn't get better. Extra plus for being pet friendly!

The room is a little dated, but exceptionally clean and was serviced daily even though we weren't expecting it. Certainly didn't detract from the charm.

The setting. San Marino is right on Coopers Beach.

Back for our 3rd visit to this stunning location right on one of New Zealand’s most beautiful beaches. So good to unwind, relax & enjoy barefoot walks on the beach. The motel is old style kiwiana, the rooms are clean, bright & spacious with comfortable beds and the hospitality is amazing, Tania & John are so welcoming and helpful, we’ll be back.

best location ever,clean, comfortable, well priced. Not a flashy hotel but our 3rd trip with another one planned.

Stunning location walking from the unit over the lawn to the beach. The view was beautiful. The manager was very friendly and helpful.

Everything, the location was perfect, off the main road and away from others, the beautiful surroundings, options to hire kayaks n paddle boards etc definitely the sunset and sunrise, access to the beach 👌 the plentyful of beach tables to eat at, bbq area

The first time entering smelt as though it hadn't been aired out, but honestly opened up all the windows and doors and go for a walk come back and it is just amazing 👌

Amazing location right on the beach. Lovely owner. Building could do with a bit of modernisation but certainly didn't effect my enjoyment of the stay.

The building is sloping away, which affected the bed. Perhaps putting some blocks under the bed would be a good idea for comfort.

we loved everything about this stay! the location, the character of the building, and the Canadian gentleman who checked us in and gave us great advice (apologies I didn’t get his name!) clean and comfortable, great price with the most amazing views of sunset right on our own piece of balcony. we only wish we were staying longer

Gorgeous location and wonderfully quiet. Carpark round back so much less disruptive.

Utensils and some kitchen gear pretty ineffectual.suggest people bring own bread knife and cutlery.
