We stayed for 3 nights. We loved everything about this place - the host Leslia and her daughter R, the ambiance, the amazing breakfast and the mattress we slept on. They have a media room where the children can unwind, and this place is very family friendly! Very close to Goryu and Leslia would drive us there and we would ski back home. Parking at the resort would have been impossible on the weekend.

The fact we couldn't stay here longer and need to return to Tokyo!

Bear’s Den is much more like a cozy guest house than a hotel. Leslie greets and treats you like a dear friend from the moment you arrive. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the breakfasts are wonderful.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

So close to the slopes, but even the yard was a winter wonderland with forest on all sides.

With a wonderful host (thank you Lesley!) and super clean, modern, homey and comfortable lodge, we had a spectacular stay at Bear’s Den. Once you step into the lodge, we were welcomed by the calming smell of the fireplace and Lesley, your superb host :D The place was maintained so well, it was spotless clean and very nicely designed. Our room was very comfortable with all amenities included, we were able to have good rest after our hard skiing days! The living room area had a beautiful fireplace with very high sealing, where you can sip your red wine to relax and unwind. The breakfast Lesley make is so tasty and so filling! It definitely got us ready for the big powder days! Lesley is a wonderful host. She made sure we were comfortable and all our needs were met. She even drove us to the nearby ski resort every morning. You can ski back straight from Goryu ski resort all the way to the door steps! That was really fun too. I have so much good things to write about, but you’ll just have to see it for yourself ;) All we could say is, if you’re staying at Hakuba, we definitely recommend you to stay at Bear’s Den. Fantastic stay. Thank you Lesley!!
