We had a wonderful time and loved the view! So secluded it was nice and quiet.

Lodge is very well maintained, clean, and comfortable. Furnishings are well done and furniture is comfortable (chairs/sofas/beds). Everything you may need or think you need is available to you at lodge. Just bring your food and refreshments and the lodge provides nearly everything else you may need. Beautiful views, wonderful spring to swim in, and owner is very helpful and attentive with any questions or concerns you may have. Would stay again...will stay again..and you should too...

Reserved the property two years ago for the 2024 eclipse. Lodge was spacious enough for my adult children and guests as well as some of my siblings families. Overall we had 12 people for the eclipse. Eclipse weather was touch and go but cooperated enough to allow a fantastic experience as the sun played peek-a-boo with the clouds. Also had a great night of astronomy as weather permitted in some of the darkest skies that I have had the pleasure of viewing under. Besides the eclipse, hikes along the pasture and river were highlights of the trip. Family was very excited to meet the sheep, goats and Mr. Donkey. Bird and humming bird feeders gave plenty of entertainment. Views from the lodge are outstanding. Sunsets are amazing. Swimming at the swimming hole in the river was very popular. There was something for everyone. Surprisingly given the location, there is very good internet service. The weather in the area can be interesting especially when a major front comes though. Lodge was very well equipped and clean. Everything needed was there including food for the sheep, goats, birds and Mr. Donkey. Communications with the host were outstanding. Lots of good documentation at the host's listing, e-mails, and posted at the lodge. Would gladly stay here again.

Really enjoyed the spacious ranch house during my stay there. The view from the living area was awesome! Had fun feeding Mr. Donkey, goats, rams and birds. Very relaxing, quiet and beautiful area to get away from city life. The host was very accommodating when I had to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances. I am looking forward to my next stay there in October!

Plenty of room for 5 guys riding the Twisted Sisters and local adventure motorcycle routes. We could hear the river/running water on the deck. Great sunset views!

This is an amazing place to stay if you want to sit on the deck and losten to the river down below and birds in the trees taking turns coming to the feeder. It's wonderfully quiet. All amenities needed are provided. The river is beautiful. If I'd been visiting when the temps were warmer, I'd have spent the whole day sitting in the water. It's very clean. Found a blogger who stated that the river in this area is probably the most pristine in the whole state. I hated to leave. The sheep in the pasture added an extra measure of lovely. Everything was very clean and well labeled. Instructions were so easy to follow. You won't be disappointed!

We enjoyed our stay. Owners have went out of their way to make sure this place is comfy and well stocked. All the comforts of home except with amazing views and stars as far as you can see! We enjoyed exploring the river and even took a polar plunge a few times! We really enjoyed every aspect of this place and can't wait to get back!

Our family really enjoyed this great home. We stayed outside most of the time. We had two large porches facing the creek and a beautiful scenery. You could hear the crystal clear water from the porch, which made for a very relaxing time. There are neighbors but we didn’t see anyone the whole time. I definitely recommend this place and will most likely stay there again.

Nice secluded get away with all the conveniences of home. Visited my dad's parent old ranch place with the family. We enjoyed being close to the river and letting the kids wade. Loved seeing the deer, birds, goats, and Mr. Donkey everyday we were there. We will be back!

We had an amazing time but when we were leaving one of the cars wouldn’t start. Kermit gave us some resources to try and fortunately the property was rented that night so he delayed his cleaning so we could be in and out til we could resolve the problem and leave later that day. He was super helpful and nice.

So calm and peaceful

The property was fantastic. Beautiful views, lots of wildlife, easy access. We had such a relaxing time to unplug and enjoy quiet moments on the deck, watching the world go by. Labels and notes/instructions were very helpful and easy to follow (trash, thermostat, bird feed, wifi, etc). We will be coming back!

Had an amazing stay!

We were absolutely delighted the moment we walked into this wonderful property. Clean, beautiful, and perfectly appointed. It was as comfortable as our own homes. The kitchen was perfect; everything we needed was there and then some. All of the beds were comfortable with nice linens. We spent a lot of our time sipping coffee on the spacious deck overlooking the rippling creek and watching the hummingbirds, other birds, and the herds of deer. The crystal clear swimming hole was as wonderful as advertised. The guys went on several hikes and truly enjoyed themselves. This would be ideal for any group.

This is our 3rd year here and even though the water was lower than last year it was still flowing. We got to watch some rain move in and as always had a nice relaxing time. We will be back next year!

This is our second time to come here; we stayed longer than last time and loved it. It’s such a great place to just get away and relax. There’s plenty of space and nature to go around. Our kids are multiple ages and each one enjoyed it. From the house to the water…we had such a great time. Thank you 😊

The house was amazing! It was perfectly set up for our family. We threw all the kiddos downstairs, and adults upstairs. The swimming hole was beautiful as well. We definitely would love to go again. Kermit was excellent as far as helping us out and answering all questions! The house is super stocked with EVERYTHING! Thank you! Only thing is add to home is another fridge or freezer, and a card table; for we played games the entire time💕

The creek and swimming hole were perfect. The place had everything required. The views from the balcony patio were amazing both in the mornings and nights. Mr. Donkey was a huge hit as well! Kermit was very communicative. A++++

This was our second stay at MVL and again it did not disappoint. The house is comfortable and spacious. Everything you might need is provided except a bathing suit and groceries. The family enjoyed the water several times daily. Our host was very helpful and responded quickly to our emails. We would highly recommend this location!!

This year marks the 10th annual trip for our family to Mountain View Lodge. Every trip has been a delightful experience for our family. From the creek below the cabin to the exceptional accommodations, everything is top-notch.

Great place to stay and play in the river. Our 2nd time visiting and already planning a 3rd trip.

We had a wonderful stay with family and friends. The house is well stocked with basic essentials. Short walk down to the river. Separate living area downstairs great for the kids to have their own space. Cannot wait for our annual trip next year!

This is just what we wanted secluded and right on the river. We stayed for a 3 day weekend. We will be back

This is the perfect place for anyone looking to get away from all of the noise and lights of the city. You can sit on the back patio and listen to the water in the creek below, the doves and other birds that come by to visit and the hummingbirds. All of the necessary supplies are there to fill the bird and hummingbird feeders. The path down to the creek is easy and our dog loved running through the creek. The animals in the pasture are just awesome. We walked down everyday to feed them with the supplied feed. Everything needed is there for the guest. Kermit is a great host and answered all of our question prior to our stay. Excellent place to visit and we look forward to coming back.

Went above and beyond to accommodate, very relaxing environment

The lodge was a dream come true. It was big enough to easily accommodate 14 people without feeling like we were bumping into each other. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed for the entire stay. There were towels and water shoes provided for use in the creek that was a short walk away. Fishing was great.The views were gorgeous. We look forward to returning in the future. *Don't forget to visit with Mr Donkey and friends!

This was the perfect house for a relaxing weekend getaway. This place has amazing views of the hill country, and a beautiful clear swimming hole. We will definitely be staying here again!
