We had a wonderful time in Galena this past weekend and the accommodations were wonderful! Close to everything; within walking distance to Main St. Yes, there are stairs involved both in the house and going to Main St., my sister with a knee replacement did just fine on both fronts. The home is beautiful, very clean, roomy & comfy beds, nice shower. Kitchen accommodations are excellent. We'll definitely stay here again on another trip. Highly recommend!!

We enjoyed this home from the moment we got there. There was plent of space for the 6 of us. The character of the home was wonderful. Enjoyed the chilly nights after walking main street, in front of the fireplace. Every room was clean and had plenty of coverings. The location of the home was perfect. Just one block away from main street. Very quaint neighborhood. The rooms were described as queen beds, but they did feel more like double beds but still comfy. There were plenty of towels provided in the bathroom. We enjoyed several downtown activities especially the Holidaze Feztival which was lovely. There were wonderful fireworks in the evening. I want just acknowledge that the property manager went above and beyond for us. We had a situation that we needed assistance with and the property manage was nothing but gracious and helpful and understanding. We appareciated this more than you know. That one situation stood above everything else. We can't thank you enough for not only a wonderful experience at the rental but the customer service we received. We will definetly be back and we definetly will recommend this location to others. THANK YOU!

Had a Surprise gathering of sisters and nieces to celebrate 2 60th birthdays 🎂 this home was perfect, beautiful, and so close to all the shops, patking was not a problem. We all said we would stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this quaint home. Plenty of space for our group of four. Easy walk downtown. Parking was a bit challenging on Saturday but we expected that. Lots to do on our stay. They record collection was excellent. We played cards at night to classic rock. Would stay again and highly recommend.

We enjoyed staying at this charming home on Bench St. We walked into town to visit shops and restaurants. The home was clean and nicely remodeled. Access upon arrival was easy, parking was directly in front of the home (except for Tues. which was clearly explained in paperwork) I would definitely stay again.

The property is just as pictured and described. The walk to town is very short and you have easy access to everything Galena has to offer. LOVED being in the historic district! The only advanced prep I would say is bring a Roku with you as the TV doesn’t have streaming ( you can get a Roku for $25 and just travel with it). But if you’re not a TV/movie watcher, it’s a great location for morning walks, shopping trips, or reading on the deck. Would definitely come again.

This house had some great character - could not have had a better location. Perfectly walkable to all the shops and restaurants. The house was loaded with bottled water which came in handy with such warm weather!

I stayed here for a girls trip with my former college roommates. We could not have been happier with the location and the house! It was extremely clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. It's a block from downtown, so it is in walking distance to everything. We had a wonderful time!

We had an issue with the front door knob that was responded to quickly. We also had some miscommunication about when we were leaving that they were cool about. :) we thought we had one more day, so we were a teeeny bit late leaving. SO embarrassing!

This property is three houses down from my home in Galena. I had eight college friends visiting and needed to supplement my 5-bedroom home with additional bedrooms and bathrooms. The location of this property was perfect, and the home was welcoming, clean, and comfortable. Thank you for adding to our special memories for our annual gathering.

The Bench St house was a perfect place for our family to stay while in town celebrating our daughter's wedding. The wedding reception was held at Turner Hall (directly across the street) which made it very convenient for setup, the day of the wedding and then enjoying time in the downtown area (one block walk) for the remainder of the weekend. The house was clean and the decor great for pictures as the bride and bridesmaids were getting ready for the special occasion. In the early morning hours we enjoyed a cup of coffee on the back screened in porch. In the evening hours it was a gathering place for family and friends. The vinyl record player and selection of records was hit in our family as we have many musicians and music lovers. Thank you for the use of your home which will be part of the special occasion memories of our daughter and new husband's wedding for years to come.

We had an amazing experience staying at this Airbnb. Very cute home, well kept and clean. Location is incredible- we walked everywhere we went! Street parking was no problem and the spots on the street are nice and big so it was easy to park a larger suv. Loved our stay. Highly recommend.

book club getaway
Our group of 7 ladies stayed in this clean and conveniently located house during our mini vacation. The location was perfect as we could walk down town to shop and eat. We highly recommend the Bench Street house!

The word that we used the entire time we stayed in Galena … pleasant. From the location of the VRBO, to the town & small businesses and the rolling vista’s of surrounding country. The weather was perfect , the people were friendly, the Galena Vineyard had great wine & views. Every morning we woke up and walked/ran the river trail. The home was clean, nice decor & the A/C worked perfect. We even enjoyed listening to the old LP’s on the record player.
Finding parking was a challenge on Saturday & Sunday, so be ready to park up the hill on other streets and hall it back home. Also, we knew from reading other reviews that the windows were unable to open up…. Would have been lovely to get fresh air running through the house. Until next time 🤗

This was our third stay at the Bench Street home, and it was as comfy and convenient as ever. It's a great home base for exploring Main Street and the entire area. Attractive decor, clean, quiet, well-equipped. The management was excellent...pleasant, helpful. etc. Looking forward to visiting again before long!
