Super friendly staff. A really well designed and thought through place. Obviously had a lot of renovation, but cleverly done and nice touches, both practical and in terms of design.

Woken up by intense, and I mean intense drilling at 08:00. Really unpleasant start to the day. The owner seems apologetic yet, unaware even though it could be heard from the reception. hopefully over soon and the results wil be fabulous, but it was not a great start to the day.

Very lovely hotel in a cozy area. It was a family hotel and they were indeed very friendly and supportive. The interior design is very beautiful.

We liked everything, except the pillows 😉

I booked this as a stopover on a long drive home, and it met all my requirements - easy to reach from the motorway, good value, very comfortable rooms, restaurants within walking distance, and free parking. And very dog friendly! But I would like to return for a longer stay - it’s just over the border from Basel and NW Switzerland (without the silly Swiss prices), on the edge of the Black Forest, and very near French Alsace. The hotel itself is a large comfortable chalet-style building in art nouveau style. The rooms and bed were very comfortable, the staff welcoming and multi-lingual, and provided a good breakfast. Five minutes walk from the hotel down the hill there was a brewery restaurant that offered hearty fare, also dog friendly.

Surrounded by old trees located on a hillslope above the city with a magnificent view (even to Basel, Switzerland) this really can be called a villa. It takes only 5 to 7 minutes to the pedestrian area in the heart of the city with restaurants, shops and everything.
