Location suited us as we needed a stop on our travels from Flam to Kristiansand. The location and view of the lake were great. Restaurant dinner and breakfast were good. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. For us it was the fact they had a guest laundry that was best. It was the only hotel on our 6 week trip that had one. Not sure what Europeans do for clean clothes as we stayed at most places only 1 or 2 nights so not long enough to use the very expensive hotel laundry services. Laundromats seem to be few and far between.

Rooms were a bit cold - for us. The curtains didn't quite block out enough light at night when the sun was still up.

The hotel is quite worn. The staff are trying to be helpful but get things wrong. The swimming pool was extremely dirty.

Great hotel for a stopover on the way to the west coast. Ideal if you plan to go from central Oslo, or that region, and over to the west coast on a 2night's trip. Much used by biker's who're willing to pay what it costs for a bed

Check'in was a little bit ad-hoc. Reception a bit on the cordial rather than friendly. The hotel rooms are overpriced whilst compared to the offering itself, even by Norwegian standards. While check-in is "digitized" our encounter wasn't straight fwd. Dining reservations was operated by sheets of paper and, apparently, did not correspond with check-in details. Hadn't we asked we both would end up paying double, since we were assigned to double rooms but had made reservations as single. My room had an interesting stair case in it, leading to where I don't know. The bathroom in my room had shower since only one shower door or half a shower enclosure water splashed all over.
