We went to Siracusa for a short Easter break in our first ever visit to Sicily. Upon arrival at Via del Mare we were warmly welcomed by Maria and Jessica, who showed us to our spacious, pleasant and impeccably clean room, took us for a quick tour of the property, with special attention to the orchard, and then invited us for a lovely cup of coffee with crunchy Sicilian biscuits at the comfortable dining room. Maria, who is also a tour guide, set the local maps on the table and helped us organise our 3-day visit to the area, booking all the restaurants. Our evening in Noto on the first day was unforgettable. Maria took us herself to many of the hidden gems of Ortigia. And, of course, we also did Siracusa, Avola, Arenella...We felt at home. Breakfast was out of this world, with a range of home made delicacies, including Maria's irresistible jam. We wish we could have stay longer. But we will be back and know where we'll stay. S-ra Maria, was very welcoming and helpful with directions to the town, places to visit and eat. She is the reason we love to stay at small B&B like La Via del Mar, and not at the big box hotel chains. The house is lovely, breakfast was excellent, short walk to the beach. Just perfect.

Very cozy, family-run B&B, in a quiet, yet picturesque property just around the corner from Arenella beach and a short drive away from Siracusa. Highly recommended!

Hospitality, cleaness, and the owner Maria is a real good tourist guide. They speak English... which is a kind of miracle in Sicily. Marie's husband likes to have a good discussion about Italian history and politics.

When they offer you to make a dinner for 25 Euro per person they will charge you double; don't ask another portion, even though the portions are very small, because each new small portion will cost you at least 15Eur. The bed has a very soft matelass, not good for your back at all.

The room is nice and very clean. The breakfast was excelent. The host, Mrs. Maria, is kind and ready to help in case you need any information. The property has even some umbrellas for you to take to the beach. We totally enjoyed the time we spent there.
