Sehr schöne Lage mit einen parkähnlichen Garten. Zimmer schon in die Jahre gekommen , aber nett hergerichtet und ansprechend. Viele Vögel in dem herrlichen Garten. Brüllaffen zu hören. Würde wegen der Lage das Hotel generell wieder buchen. Preislich könnte es etwas angepasster sein.

Unser Zimmer hatte nach vorne keine Fenster nur Insektengitter und Vorhänge. Diesbezüglich konnten wir die anderen Gäste bei ihren lauten Gesprächen hören.

Fantastic environment with a lot of birds and other animals around the premises. The staff was very kind and helpful and made everything they could to make our stay as pleasent as possible. Nice breakfast!

Locatie. Vlakbij de rivier Rio Celeste waar je kunt zwemmen vanaf de locatie. Het eten was ook ok in het restaurant.

Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier überhaupt nicht im Restaurant. Matschige Nudeln mit Gemüse völlig überteuert

De ligging vlak langs de Rio Sarapiqui en ruim 3 kilometer trails rondom de lodge zorgden voor vele vogelsoorten, apen, iguana’s en luiaards vlakbij onze kamers. De accommodatie is erg eenvoudig en gedateerd maar wel erg schoon en voorzien van het meest noodzakelijke. Via het vriendelijke personeel konden we eerder inchecken en een rafting tour boeken.

De bedden waren erg klein voor twee volwassen Nederlanders en daarbij erg hard en de veren waren duidelijk voelbaar. Het eten in het restaurant was goed maar de porties erg karig voor de gevraagde prijs, zeker wanneer je gewend bent geraakt aan de doorgaans grote porties die je geserveerd krijgt in Costa Ricaanse restaurants.

Geweldige plek, leuke ontvangst en de moeite die voor je gedaan wordt! Erg prettige plek

Die Lodge befindet sich in einem wunderschönen großen Garten in der Nähe des Flusses. Viele Vögel und auch Frösche sind leicht zu sehen. Etliche kurze Rundwege direkt auf dem sehr großen Grundstück sind vorhanden. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, aber für Menschen mit größeren Appetit etwas knapp bemessen. Das Schwimmbad im Garten mit angenehmer Temperatur ist nach einem Ausflugstag ein Genuß.

Einfache Unterkunft in einer Holzhütte, in der nicht einmal Fensterscheiben waren.

Very warm welcome and care by 2 ladies. Authentic place without extravagance. Breakfast tasted very well. Excellent recommendations for leisure activities.

Pool area very rudimentary, no possibility to sit or lay.

Malheureusement pour nous, il pleuvait bcp à cette période, les sentiers autour de l'hôtel étaient impraticables et remplis de moustiques... Nous sommes restés 1 nuit au lieu de 2 mais c'était à cause du climat.

Nothing, all was good

This is a tired and really overpriced place. A small single room for three people cost more than other places where we had two room suites and stunning views.

Great Location

The staff was so incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotless and had what we needed. It is a sweet little spot.

The room could have had a better place for us to store our bags/stuff and the bedding could be more comfortable.

The location is incredible for wildlife. The trails on site are filled with howler monkeys, birds, frogs, toads and more. Every night we went out with a torch and every night we saw cute kinkajous in the trees. The breakfast delicious. It is a truly special place and I would highly recommend it. The staff were also some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. On our very last morning, just hour before we were due to get a flight, I had a technical disaster. The woman behind on reception was so kind and helpful when I explained. What's more, the owner drove me around town for over an hour and a half, taking me is at least 6 different shops, all to find an emergency hard drive. He went above and beyond his job and it simply an incredible man. I cannot recommend this accomodation more! You will have an incredible, unique experience here

We traveled to the area for birdwatching, and found Gran Gavilan del Sarapiqui Lodge to be a perfect location from which to see a variety of species. They have their own paths through the surrounding jungle, some next to a river, which we had virtually to ourselves and could access easily just steps from our room. The birding in the open space within the circle of cabins attracted many interesting birds as well. We even spotted a sloth in a tree on the grounds. The staff were very friendly, and eager to help. The breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs and rice was quite tasty and they had a variety of options for dinner. I particularly enjoyed having breakfast and dinner served on the patio with hummingbirds buzzing by our heads on their way to the nearby feeders.

We were overall quite pleased with our stay. We were thankful we had a fan in our room because of the cabins heated up a bit during the day, so nights could be uncomfortable at first but cooled down by morning.

They have their own small hiking trails, a lovely garden and a chillout area -We can highly recommend the place, next time we would, however, book a room with AC :-)

This hotel far exceeded our expectations in almost every way. The grounds are superb, with interesting trails, wildlife and beautifully maintained gardens. We had tours booked in the local area but we could easily have saved money and stayed within the complex. There are bird feeders and local birds (including hummingbirds) that are comfortable being in close proximity to the guests. There is a simple bar/restaurant which met our needs and you have a fridge in your room if you wish to keep your own refreshments. Parking is limited but we always found a space during our stay over Easter. Nearby you have the option for Rafting and other adventurous activities and day trips to LaPaz Waterfalls, the biological research centers and even Poas National Park. A good stopping-off point between Tortuguero and La Fortuna or San Jose to break up the journey for a few days.

The restaurant is very modest and it is preferred to book your meals in advance - although the staff were very helpful and didn't have any problem accommodating us at short notice. There is also a roof bar but again very modest and closes early in the evening with a limited selection of refreshments. The rooms are basic but functional, we were comfortable in a family room but to be critical you could argue they need modernisation.

The staff were wonderful--kind, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The surrounding trails were great and the river was nearby. Lots of birds!

The staff were very helpful and went to a great deal of trouble to make you feel at home. The grounds are extensive with a variety of wild life. We ate all our meels at the restaurant and were well pleased with the variety and quality.

Located in the middle of a small Dschungel with pathes to an River, you can See a lot of humingbirds, monkeys, birds, and If you are lucky crocodiles

Very simple rooms. Maybe Not for everybody, but we liked it.

Super nice staff. homemade bread and Marmelade for breakfast, the monkeys wake you up in the morning.

The location is nice (off the main road), the food offered gives you a decent choice and the owners were nice. They search animals for you and called us when they found a sloth high up in one of the trees of the property. The common area is also a nice and quiet place to relax. They have a new pool which we did not try. They seem to be planting around it so I guess it will look much nicer soon with plants, flowers and trees around.

The room was basic and since it is not noise-proof (mosquito nets replace some windows so you basically sleep with all the outside noise) you hear the noise of the jungle and the workers and customers of the property early in the morning. Maybe not the best place if you want to sleep in.
